Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

SAF never prioritises between the CL and League, he clearly wants both. I think Evra more than most needs to sit one game out and with Chelsea not the biggest threats from the right I'll do it now rather than Bayern with Robben back.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

It's not Robben who you will have to face in the right side, it will be Robben+Lahm, and you have Ribery on the other side. With Olic and Gomez fighting ahead.

Ferguson should ask Prandelli some advices, Fiore really knew how to neutralize Bayern.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Fuck resting any of them, our 19th title and the chance to overtake Liverpool is far more important to me than any Champions League trophy.

strange words :JAY: Liverpool seems to be miles away from winning a League title no pun intended, really though Utd are going to past Liverpool`s throne , like Rooney is going to past Ronaldo`s goal tally soon , and to go farther that that since Manc fans always bring their players to compare everything under the moon. Fabregas is going to play in an Arsenal shirt longer than Thierry as captain too!

The logic is play and try to win it all! the mistake Wenger does (imo)is he tries to pick what he wants to win and so...:COAT:

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I'd be VERY pleased with a draw this weekend.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Hargreaves and O'Shea both training well with the first team and SAF considering them for match day squads. One will probably feature as a substitute against Chelsea and the other against Bayern (probably Hargreaves against Chelsea and O'Shea against Bayern, or JOS for both).

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

THE Owen Hargreaves? No way. Surely not!

3-0 to the Rentboys this weekend. Sigh.
Prem's not over though...

Surely your a WUM, If Chelsea beat us 3-0 I'll admit were a crap team like you say we are.

We'll either score and dominate and concede 1 late or dominate and concede 1 similar to the Bridge game.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I'm just thinking "but where will the goals come from" at the minute...

When Berba plays up front on his own, he figures he shouldn't be at the head of the attack and plays as a sweeper instead, so we'll have noone up front...against Chelsea...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Yep, he was fantastic as a sweeper against Bolton. Hence, he scored two poacher finishes.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

You gotta get over the Berba hate. 7 goals in his last 8 starts. Hardly Dong is he?

Recently there's been a marked difference in his attitude on the pitch and he's realised he has to fit into the team and not the other way round and this has coincided with his great form. If the midfield try and stay on his wavelength then we'll be alright.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I'm just being a WUM at the minute.

I still don't think we'll score but I won't argue Berba has been very good lately. Much more like that bloke we supposedly signed from Spurs.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

He's actually got a decent scoring record against Chelsea. 4 goals in 8 competitive starts.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Our defense has been crap so you'll definitely find a way to score.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Drogba will probably start on the bench, how about that?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I wonder how important not ruling that 2nd goal out for offside will be come the end of the season...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

your goal was handball anyway so doesn't make much difference

better team won, you lacked heart today

rooney is a massive player for you, has the heart of 3 men lol

That's Marshall Bravestarr isn't it? ;))

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Yeah, probably.

Chelsea looked much fresher than us having had no midweek game.

Deserved a draw at least though, were on top in the second half.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I thought Chelsea definitely deserved the win tbh, they had more clear cut chances and played better football (i hate that cliché tbf), although the second Chelsea goal and the United goal shouldn't have stood imo.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

We dominated the 2nd half to be honest (after a poor first) and really should have taken a point IMO. That period of pressure between the 50m-70m needed a goal from us.

Were still in the race but as SAF said its more what Chelsea and Arsenal do know, if they win their games it doesn't matter what we do.

Credit to Nani and Macheda though, great subs from SAF and both made a real impact, Macheda will become a top player.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

The main difference between the two teams was constant pressing. Manchester had none (except Fletcher, this guy is amazing).

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Apart from a tired squad and being ripped off at their own ground, it was very clear today how much United miss Rooney.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Bullshit. We looked just as lethargic as we did when he was playing against Bayern midweek.

Rooney wouldn't have done any better than Berbatov did today (and that's the only change to the starting lineup Fergie would have made if Wayne was fit). We suffered from poor passing and no movement from the midfield. Giggs and Park were poor and Fletcher didn't start playing properly until the second half. Scholes was alright, but playing Giggs, Scholes and Neville against a team as physical as Chelsea was stupid.

As soon as Nani came on the game changed and we looked far more threatening as he was prepared to drive forward and link up with Berbatov who had been totally isolated up to that point (as Rooney was against B.M.).

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

One way or the other, Rooney still was the man who scored for you in the 1st minute in Munchen. In the form he was in front of goal, it's obvious he's gonna be missed. Also his work rate can't be compared with Berbatov's. Let's wait and see what happens in the next few fixtures.
