Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

We should have gone with Wellbeck and Owen yesterday but instead the manager stuck Wellbeck on the wing. Sir Alex probably thought "He reminds me of Henry" so he stuck him there. Kinda the same with Alan Smith in midfield, just because he reminded some of us of Keano.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I thought that through ball from Welbeck was a bit heavy and Owen had already made the run.He had to drag the ball with his right peg but there goes the control and he snapped the chance with his left.Good movement nonetheless but that through ball could have been a better one.

That is why the Gaffer played Welbeck on the left wing...the boy has the ability to cut in and provide those type of passes. He is developing well and we should see a first team player soon if he keeps his feet on the ground and keep working hard.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Welbeck is apparently going in for a knee scan today :( Not clear what is wrong yet, but sure hope it's not the ole ligaments!

We were alright yesterday. Not great. Barnsley's chances almost all came either from corner kicks or after Red Nev had been a tool and reduced us to 10 men.

I'm still pleased a team made up of so many inexperienced youngsters not used to playing together did well at a tough away ground, down to 10 men for 30 minutes. Keep in mind Barnsley beat Pool (at home!) and Chelsea last year...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Oh and look at that, surprise surprise, Martinez has posted on the LMA website that he categorically denies having made the comments attributed to him.

Why doesn't anyone ever sue the bullsh*t press? I swear, they should all be shot the lot of them.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

The Daily Mirror are saying we're gonna make a £50million move for both David Villa and Silva. Its obviously BS but imagine that. Would probably solve all our problems IMO.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

All we need is patience. We have all the talent at the club already.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

But to bid for those two at one shot is certainly Football Manager 2010...Realistically we can afford the both of them but the question still lies on if they want to play for us...

wow you must have some really good insight to say that

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I'd say they're both more likely to want to play for us if we get them as a pair, but it'll never happen.

Can guarentee if either of them come to the Prem it would be to Liverpool...who have no money...

It's common sense. We've not spent any of £80m we got from Ronaldo, as well as the fact Fergie would have obviously had money to spend at the start of the season anyway, which he chose not to.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

To be fair I kind of agree with Beboq. We have a big debt lads lets not forget this, and looking at our net spending over the last 5 years it doesn't look like we have as much to spend as some might think.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Not common sense knowing there`s a economic crisis and everyone knows MUTD has a 80 million kitty :)) .Glazer has a NFL team that`s in shambles (not that I`m a guru in sporting incomes ) nonetheless my point is only the backroom knows their plans at the well being of the club. When Mutd went to offer benezma 40m it was a tactic to ease fans and pile pressure elsewhere. It will be interesting to see if you lots buy now or in the summer. I know the transfer price will be outrageous if you lots go trophy-less by MUTD standards that unacceptable don`t need 2 million fans jumping ship. Don`t think the image of Rooney would withstand the confidence for hope that MUTD will dominate again.

Edit: what I mean encase someone miss my point MUTD`s enemy is itself they done so much in a short time. I expect MUTD to be on top regardless of the squad. Most can`t even argue w/ a mancs knowing they done the lot. When you look at Mutd players you dont say potential because they all have experience of winning

I doubt were going to spend big for a while. Atleast the likes of Nani, Anderson and co will be given a run to see if they can step up.

Problem is they're still not getting that run. And when the options are Park or a non-winger Giggs (Nani) and Scholes (Anderson) and they STILL don't start our bigger games...I just don't know what to think :(

Reserves v Pool tonight...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Didn't take long for the twins to get mixed up!

Man Utd make Fabio booking appeal

Manchester United have asked the Football Association to overturn the yellow card shown to Fabio da Silva against Barnsley in the Carling Cup.

Da Silva was booked by Chris Foy for a foul on Jamal Campbell-Ryce but the offender was his twin brother Rafael.

The FA confirmed they have been approached by United and the submission will be heard on Tuesday by a regulatory commission.

The Brazilian twins, 19, helped United win 2-0 to reach the quarter-finals.

However, the holders finished the game with 10 men after Foy sent off Gary Neville for clattering into Adam Hammill.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

First time they've been on the pitch together for the first team as well I think! :LMAO:

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Imagine if they were strikers. Would be a nightmate for defences.

EDIT
I'm using my iphone so I cant access the fixture page. Just wanna ask, are we playing Chelsea a week from Sunday?

Yeah mate, away at Chelski after a European tie, It's a conspiracy i tells ya

Carling Cup team v CSKA midweek? Sounds sensible to me :)

We lost to Pool's reserves in a penalty shootout last night. We absolutely battered them in the second half, but Josh King missed 3 one on ones, blazing over each time. Anyway, reserves so no one cares, but...

Tosic came on and changed the game. He scored a blinding free kick, should have had a penalty, sent through King with a lovely weighted through ball that he HAD to score from (but did the aforementioned no composure blaze over) tricked his way to the edge of the box and missed the top corner by a foot, delivered all quality set pieces and just played a level above everyone else out there.

If his 20 minute cameo doesn't convince Fergie that he deserves a shot in the first team, I think we should all do him a favour and start lobbying to have him traded somewhere he can actually get games. For a 22 year old winger he really doesn't look that bad.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

David Villa and David Silva speculations aside....Germany's 1st choice goalkeeper Rene Adler was rumored to be at the stands to watch our game at Anfield.

There is also speculation that there is a clause in his contract that if we tabled a bid for him,he would be released from Bayer Leverkusen.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Just read on Sky Sports that Vidic & Ferdinand might not be out tomorrow...
Usually that would worry me, but I'm sure Wes & Evans will be more than up for it. It'd give Vida & Rio a kick up the backside...
