Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Big season for all them (apart from Evra) to show what their capable of.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Well to be fair, Evra had a shite second half of the season (by his own high standards at least) last year, so he needs to prove he's still the best at what he does otherwise the youngsters might be challenging him.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Big man Evra has got his starting place under little threat...We havent seen much of Fabio or De Laet and O'Shea is only mediocre there...So,unless Pat gets injured or suspended,he is a sure starter.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Best LB in the world. Nothing to worry about, Tomorrow should be a good game hopefully we start with our best available players

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Fergie says he wants to win it this year (as opposed to using it as a fitness gauge like he usually does) so we should see a good line-up.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I think he is pretty satisfied with the lads fitness during pre-season.Should be a good contest as usual but I do not think Chelsea will be open,so expect a rigid,Italian Milan style formation.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Well, he is arguably (at least) the best LB in the world. I won't say best full back in the world, because that's a bit more complicated.

The only person to touch him at LB I think is Cashley Cunt, but as mentioned, he's a cunt so he doesn't count.

That said, since Lennon tore him a new arsehole in the Carling Cup final last year, he's not been the same Evra, and he needs to rediscover his true form I think.

Anyways, is Fergie trully happy with our fitness? To me the one person who looks like he still needs a bit more is Rooney, and that surprises me a lot.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

So what is going to be your formation today? Owen - Rooney upfront? Nani - Valencia on the wings? What about chelsea? Sry but ive been completely out of the EPL lately.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I think we'll play like this

Code:
          Foster/Kuszczak
O'Shea Ferdinand Evans Evra
       Carrick Fletcher
Valencia Nani
       Berbatov Rooney

The only places that could change is the central midfielders, maybe Giggs or Anderson will play and maybe Owen will start ahead of Berbatov.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

ref stopped play when nothing was wrong for him when he held is ribs, yet when he elbows evra, play on?

ref gotta take off his chelsea goggles

EDIT: owen also booked for that?

refs having a shocker.

2nd EDIT: god, that was orgasmic xD

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Really hope Nani is alright. Clearly a collarbone/shoulder problem from the fall.

Not a big deal to lose on pens (though wtf is Evra doing taking one?)

Chris Foy will have to explain after the game - not the decision, but the inconsistency. Literally 2 minutes previous between the same two players he makes one call (which was wrong) then when it comes again, he makes a different call (which was correct). Ballack deserved a yellow for that, instead Chelsea scored. That's not good refereeing in any ones book.

One more note - if that was Giggs not Lampard breaking up the pitch, he would have stopped play. It's a friendly, half the players are surrounding the man on the ground. But hey, fair play to Chelsea, you gotta win any way you can. And let's face it, they're not known for gentlemanly behaviour.

Up to the FA. Sort it out.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

You still lost tough. =/
I really dislike ballack now, even more then i used to. Conflictual guy, is only there to disturb the game.
But, on the other side you really can't say much about the ref in the end, Rooney was offside so he made a mistake for you as well.
Pens were just awfully struck by Giggs and Evra, childish penalty kicks.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Oh and is anyone else gutted about the yellow on Evra? I mean, if he's going to get a yellow for a clean tackle with intent, then he might just as well have gone in studs up and taken the yellow that way. Roy Keane would simply have broken Ballack in two, cheating git. Oh yeah, celebrate that Community Shield Ballack, becasue that's the quality of finals you manage to win. The important ones you always lose...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I bet if it was Kusczcak at fault for those two goals, he would have been absolutely slaughtered by fans and the media.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Yeah exactly. Foster was poor.

You've all said what I was thinking so I wont bother typing it out. Absolutely shocking from Foy, at least it's not a game that matters though.

Evra's tackle where he got booked was brillaint, and Ballack got straight up, yet Foy still thought he'd get his cards out.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Think it's harsh on Foster to blame him for either. The second one in particular, I mean he's one on with one of the best hitters of a ball in premier league history, from 12 yards out. I was impressed he got gloves to it, he still got it onto the post.

The first one was iffy as well. It was one of those where I half expected Chris Foy to blow for a foul on Drogba, even though it wasn't, because goalies are so well protected. Just unlucky that it fell to the one open Chelsea player. Where was Nani?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

ROOOOOOOOOOOOONEY! :DD enjoyed that, Good game we probably should have won. Foy and Ballack are cunts but we did enough to show were still the team to beat definitely.

Ay Foster was shocking, Wouldn't be suprised if SAF opts for PIG against Brum.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I didn't have Gray on my stream.

And whoever it was on mine said he was level as well.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I didnt think he was level to be honest, but it was close and the rule is supposed to be that there is daylight between the players and from where the linesman was looking maybe there wasn't.

Foster was just seemed panicky and rushedd all game, the defence needs the keeper to be calm behind them and he certainly wasn't that. I think the players are having trouble when passing back to him too cos he's a leftie and they're all so used to knocking onto VDS's right foot.

Oh yeah, someone needs to get a .gif of O'Shea OWNING cashley with that megs in the first half

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

If Sky are so special, then use the bloody white line they always use to use!!!!!!

Redknapp said it was offside

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I thought Rooney was just off too - though it is rather nice to think that the linesman couldn't seperate them and therefore gave the advantage to the attacking player, which is the rule but is never followed cause refs have no balls.
