Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I think Ole Solskjaer will never be ready to replace Sir Alex when he retires...I dont even think he is the right man to manage our reserves too.If its a choice from our background staff to manage United...I'd choose Brian McClair....otherwise it'd have to be Senor Jose Mourinho!
Totally agree. Ole would make a good coach but a tactician? No.
And no one really knows anything whether he can motivate players. When it comes to that, you dont get any better than Jose.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Laurent Blanc, Anyway the way SAF was talking at the end of last season he was hinting he'd be around for another 4-5 years! Im sure by the time he does retire they'll be new names in the hat.

So he's an absolute prick already then?

 Pretty much, Arsenal and Real are his 2 favourate choices, Probably wants to develop at Arsenal before going onto Real.

Eden Hazard reveals Real Madrid dream

The young Belgian starlet Eden Hazard is in great demand after his brilliant first season in Ligue 1 with Lille, and he has been watched by all the top clubs, including Arsenal, Inter Milan, Real Madrid and Barcelona.

He insists that he will not be moving for at least another year, but insists that his dream would be to play for Arsenal or Real Madrid. Not that he would turn down Barcelona or Inter Milan, but he doesn’t think it would be the same as playing for the other two.

“This was my first season as a pro,” he told reporters, “I’ve scored and have been playing more than I’d expected. I hope it continues.”

He added: “Next year, I have to play in every game. That is my aim – to become an undisputed first-team player at Lille.”

“I’m going to stay at Lille. Definitely. I have a three-year contract and feel that I have a lot to learn in Lille.

“The situation could only change if a club offers €30 million (£26.5m) and Lille were unable to refuse, but for now I ask all the clubs interested to respect my decision: I want another year to develop at Lille.

“After that, we will see.”

He added: “I must repeat that it is too early to move.

“In one or two years I will maybe make the next step.

“What’s more, Lille play European football, which is also a good opportunity for me. Getting minutes on the field is what counts from my perspective right now.”

Then he was asked where he would like to move to, in the future.

“Real Madrid and Arsenal are the clubs I dreamed of joining as a child,” he said.

“If I joined Inter or Barcelona and could play football there then that would be very good, but Real and Arsenal are really great and play at a very high technical level.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Well I think the best coaching Mourinho has done so far was with... FC Porto.

Given the resources he had and how well he did, I don't think he's done better since. And Porto played great attacking football.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

And he was a Paul Scholes disallowed header away from not winning the Champions League.

Sometimes the little things have the biggest repercussions.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I know he's no longer our player but he's still our boy so I'll post this here. I know its old but it's still an awesome freekick even if it was in training.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I think I might sacrifice my ethics and watch Real every week on Sky just so I don't forget how good Ronnie is.

Real play more technical football than Barca  Oh dear. I suppose he is only 17...........

Saying that he had a very good team there.... Deco, Carvalho, Jorge Costa, Ferriera, Baia, McCarthy etc... it wasn't like they were nobodies. And the CL was weird that year with Deportivo and Monaco progressing to the semi's ahead of Real and Milan. He is obviously a good manager, he's won stuff in every country he's been in and he's got the temperament to handle an institution like United, I'm just not too keen on the idea.

And about Ole not being a tactian, SAF said something that he noticed that Ole had a natural interest and deeper understanding of tactics compared with other players from watching when he was injured and thinks he will be a good manager.

Hope to see Tony V impress on his debut today!

I actually thought, when I saw the line-ups, that this might be the day when Anderson finally scores.

Didn't expect it to be a great free-kick, mind.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

That isn't our Anderson, I'm sure of it, ours couldn't hit a barn door, and that was a fucking screamer.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

i always thought andersons had a good shot on him, he just doesnt get the chance to score that often and when he does the keeper makes a good save.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

So both Owen and Valencia have scored on their debut so far.
Just Obertan to go. ;)

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Hahaha me too  Dead pleased for the guy, he's waited ages and at times looks terrified to shoot.

Like the WBA game when everyone was trying to tee him up and he kept missing :LMAO:

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

its great its taken the burden of his shoulders, I think he should (if he's on the pitch at the time) be our pen and free-kick taker.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Yeah I wouldn't argue against that. We know he can bang a penalty in, especially in high pressure situations but maybe he's not quite up to being permanent freekick taker cos we don't know how consitently good he is...I mean I've watched him during the warm up before games and he must have blazed 75% over or wide!

I think now we've got the opportunity we should take each freekick as it comes and let whoever has the best chance to take it. Giggs, Anderson, Rooney, Berbatov, Hargreaves and Nani can all take them, Carrick and possibly Valencia could even have a go... gives the opposition more to think about and adds the element of surprise.
