Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I don't think its anything at all. Sky are trying to make a big deal about it.

I seriously hope we start the game well, I think the first 15 will be crucial as long as we settle down without going down a goal I believe we can get in. another worry is Rio and Vidic for once in the biggest blue moon having a off day and Barca finding to much room to work with. Try and get as many corners, freekicks and crosses in.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Matt, what does that have to do with anything? As if there are no brainless hooligans in Istanbul or London?
Get the facts straight, a lot of Man U fans broke the prohibition and started causing havoc.
There are always 2 parties in cases like these and I find it downright unfair if you were to blame the city or its inhabitants for it.

it's kinda sad to say this.... but matherto's point is pretty much unquestionable. roma should have not hosted this final.

of course hooligans are everywhere, mate, but this is not about hooligans (italians or english)... this isn't even about football fans... this is a matter of habits.
my club, as almost every club in the world, has its own share of unpolite supporters... we too have our ultras groups.... and yet NEVER (at least since i was born) palermo (the city or the fans) has been involved in theese kind of situations.

i'm absolutely sure man utd too has its own share of uncivilized supporters.... but i can't see going to old trafford as a "dangerous task"... and the same goes for palermo, or sevilla, or bordeaux or madrid.... real madrid's ultras, for instance, the ultrasur... they're nothing but a bunch of stupid facists.... but going to the santiago bernabeu isn't really dangerous for your life.

being stabbed by those thugs who wander around the stadio olimpico during matchdays became something almost ordinary in roma in the last 3 years. and that's a fact :(

i know roma and the romani pretty well... and i love it (as everyone who actually ever saw roma..... except football fans from abroad, i guess). it's one of the most beautiful places i've ever seen, and the people is nice aswell..... but i have to admit, i wouldn't have a walk near the olimpico stadium in sunday :(

good luck for tonight guys :))

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Can't be Fergie's office mate, there's no trophies, it might be the fat waiters though, he seems to have an obsession with us.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Good luck lads, but I think Barca will nick it. Hopefully I'm wrong :)

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Enjoy tonight fellow reds, my fair well for the night (unless.well you know..) Hope the lads do us proud and make it another memorable night for United :))

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Good luck boys, here's wishing the lads best of luck - think we'll need it! Could it be like that fine night in Barcelona, which I cannot believe was 10 years ago? Here's hoping!

Bring it on...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Come on lads, beat those little boys! Good luck to you lot.

Plus:
CR7 > Messi
(even I don't like Cristiano )

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

you mean you're gonna miss it?

Hell no! But I had to change my plans cos I was finishing later than I planned meaning Ive only got an hour and a half from getting home to kick off!

About the stabbings, I heard an American was beaten and stabbed by some Roma Ultras cos they heard him speak in English and just assumed he was one of ours! :( It's very sad.
Arsenal had at least one fan stabbed and a coach full of fans was attacked in the quarter final match in Rome and when we played them in the group stages we had a lot of trouble.

FreMM as Ben said, all teams have bad fans but for Roma it's becoming a common thing and this is not good at all. I'd be surprised if UEFA carried on ignoring this for much longer.

I can't fucking wait now! Been so excited all day, I've not thought about anything else! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

COME ON UNITED!:RSCARF:

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

unlucly lads. played well for 10mins btu thats about it. barca outplayed u lot.

made united look very average tbh. either barca was amazing or manu was poor. i say both. manu defense was poor whilst barca played brilliant and for once, defended awsome

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

The first goal was like being stabbed and then after that United just bled to death, completly knocked the wind out of their sales after a pretty good first 10 mins

Not taking anything away from Barca though, they where the better team and fully deserved to win. Congratulations to them

now u know how arsenal felt in the emirates stadium when gibbs slipped

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Man that was abject awful, so many big names who did not turn up, you started well but were well beaten in the end. So much space and time for Barca, then your passing was shocking, in fact it was only out done by your dire defence...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Our midfield just wasn't up to it. That's where we lost it really. All of them were outplayed which didn't give the forwards any chance.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

And Hargreaves. Basically someone to battle in midfield.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Yeah, no engine in there at all. We needed a spoiler. See if we can get Hargreaves back fit and maybe next year. Maybe Anderson will improve, too, as he's gone backwards this year

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Hargreaves actually resumed light training just before the game today. So we can start looking up again.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Hey at least we didnt get one of these

Barca were just much better, cant say anything else. Iniesta, Xavi and Messi were class. We just didnt have an answer. If Park had've scored the follow up from the freekick it could have been so different but that's life (and it was a fucking great block by Pique). Messi's header was awesome. I don't feel as bad as I could because we were simply beaten by a better team. We weren't unlucky, we weren't robbed by a poor refereeing decision, we were beaten so that's that. I can accept that.

Hopefully this will give the lads more hunger and wipe away all the complacency we've seen at times this season and next season we can push on and do even better.

We've had a great season and not even played to our potential most of the time. When you can go to 6/10 games at OT and be bored shitless cos its just too easy and still come out league champions as well as the rest we won, you know things can still get even better.

To sum up, we've had a great campaign, but tonight Barca showed they were better than us, therefore, there's somewhere to aim for, and we can progress.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

no, because it would only be 4 and thats not much to write home about is it :P

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

haha the responses to the little digs in here = priceless.

There were never as many mancs thinking they can dictate what is said in the Liverpool thread until you sealed the title.

unlucky lads, I really thought you would stroll it tonight, but the real barca turned up

We know what its like to lose in a European Final, it fuckin hurts, particularly after all the build up, but we can always go back to Anfield and see Ol Big Ears, that cheers us up

chances are United did have one made up, with the "quadruple" or whatever you were calling it all over it. Most clubs get them done before hand just in case, you can't do an open top tour in an arriva bus ffs.

Barca deserved that by a long way tonight, they made United look decidedly average without even breaking a sweat. Barca were never in any rush to get forward and attack, they were clever and patient and waited for a gap, United simply couldn't handle their passing without a battler in the midfield.

Ronaldo was all about trying to be the hero in the first half, the amount of times he took a pot shot when he could have played a pass to a better placed player was typical of him.
