Manchester United Thread

I am so looking forward to the weekend...the heart still aches for two weeks running now.I took some joy in watching Rooney strut his stuff for England but it does not cure the pain...We need to crush Villa but a win is priority.

Ando is out for the weekend apparently, hurt his thigh with Brasil (despite not playing, argh). No Scholes or Anderson, so likely a Carrick Fletcher Giggs trio methinks. Let's hope neither of the first two get hurt tonight!

The only thing I'm not looking forward to on Sunday is climbing to the top of the North Stand. You need a free oxygen tank to make it without nearly dying.

I'm in the North Stand too (N42).
Those seats that are at the top of each flight of stairs gets tempting, though it does get easier after a few games!

I hate sitting in the North Stand. Shite atmosphere most of the time. Sat round N42 myself a few times I think.

Scholes is suspended.

I meant Scholes + 1 of the two against Porto after.

North Stand is ok . I think some games its really shite where you can hear a pin drop but most of the time its alright OT on a whole isnt the loudest these days.

North Stand isn't too bad. Where I am can be quiet at times though.
I've only got a one year season ticket, though I'm hoping I can renew for next season and maybe even change it. If not I can always get tickets as I know the guys who run one of the supporters' clubs.

I've been in most blocks over the years, and you can't beat the atmosphere in the Stretty End :)

Am dreading the Villa game now. In normal circumstances, I'd be quite excited to get our little blip behind us, and get the boys back on the pitch. But with internationals and suspensions, we've pretty much screwed ourselves. If Rio is too hurt to play on Sunday (as he came off against Ukraine) and Berbatov doesn't recover, we'll be playing:

----------VDS------------
-Gary--O'Shea-Evans-Evra-
------Carrick-Fletcher---
---------Giggs-----------
-Ronaldo---------Park----
---------Tevez-----------

With all but Carrick and Gary (who has barely played this year) only getting at most 2 days rest, but with Park and Tevez, barely any due to travels. We lost Anderson to injury with Brasil who could at least have added some oomph when Fletcher/Giggs gets knackered. Add to that a two week rest for one Gabrial Agbonlahor (too injured to play for the U21s, but able to be on the bench for the senior squad...eh?!) versus the speed demons of O'Shea, Gary Nevill and Jonny Evans and we're clearly in for a good hit and hope performance from Villa...

Feel like we're going to need some luck to win this one. !

Yep I think we'll scrape a 1-0 or something. I think if we get this win we'll be back on track. The worry is we could be 2nd going into this game, hopefully the players will respond in a good way to that.

To be fair, I don't think scraping a 1-0 will get us back on track.

We need a proper win, totally dominant and 3-0 or above otherwise it's just like before.

Probably wishful thinking in reality, but ah well.

Just unrealistic mate. Villa are a decent side on shite form theres every good chance they might turn up and give us a real game. beating Villa 1-0 is a good result. Just cause Liverpool beat them 5-0 doesnt mean we have to. Theres a difference in facing all other 19 teams and Manchester United.

Injury wise and suspensions have made are squad thin and with Ronaldo off form its a bit of a worry where we might get a goal from on Sunday.

Anyone watch the France game? Evra and Ribery's link up play was amazing, I seriously hope we look into getting him if Ronaldo leaves.

-------------VDS-------------
Neville-Ferdinand-Evans--Evra
Nani---Fletcher--Carrick--Park
--------Ronaldo--Tevez--------

We'll be fine for Tuesday though, Giggs, Scholes, Rooney, Vidic all being fresh for that will be good.

Is Nanny even fit? and where the heck is Tosic? Carrick and Giggs will start in the middle on sunday..Not too sure if Tevez is fit enough to start too.Our back line should be as it is sans Vidic. We really need to win against Villa. We have to.

I definitely wouldn't have thought Tosic would be injured or something, he's barely played, so maybe we'll see him on the bench?

And if Tevez isn't fit enough to start up front, who will?

It only really leaves either Giggs, Ronaldo Welbeck & maybe Macheda...

I'm pretty sure that when we signed Tosic SAF said that he was several months away from being match ready, so I guess he's mainly just training this season to be ready for August?

If Sir Alex plays by his cards we should see Ronaldo alongside Tevez upfront.Giggs could be back on the left wing with Carrick and Fletch in the middle while Park will patrol the right wing.Should be a strong team and we should win it,I cannot explain how crucial this game against Villa will be.

Yeh maybe, Has SAF totally fallen out with Nani then? Im suprised the media havent even picked up on it.
