Manchester United Thread

Yeah maybe when I calm down a bit I'll see it different.

And about that stat, I'll eat my hat if MOTD mention that. It'll be all about how Rooney failed to control himself again.

But he really didn't. I mean, Giggsy takes the free kick, Dowd doesn't like where he took it, Rooney throws it back, and he gets sent off. That happens about 10 times a match, no cards.

And guess what, we can't appeal :)

Maybe the first two but definitely not Scholes he has been dire lately.

Ryan, I agree with you but MOTD will have a field day, it's right up their street. I guess he did throw it quite aggresively though.

If we dont win it hopefully Arsenal can come from nowhere and win it. That would make the season complete as the weirdest ever and we wouldnt have to put up with Liverpool and Chelsea winning it either.

What the fuck are we doing?

I told you all that first goal we concede will completely fuck us up, and it has.

Oh well, at least we know Liverpool will always bottle it if they go top of the league.

Didn't see enough fight from the players when we were behind.

Berbatov and Ronaldo in particular tend to wonder off when the chips are down.

We've shot ourselves in the foot again but United never do things the easy way.

havent seen the match but LOLOL

"United always react after a bad performance, etc, etc, etc, etc."

Well they'll have a rocket shoved up their arse after this, so they better. After all the hard work of grinding down Liverpool's 11 point lead, SAF will make sure that complacency doesn't set in for "squeaky bum time".

When you play Giggs and Scholes in a midfield together you're always asking for trouble. Why we cant play like last season ill never know especially as we still have the same players. Reason being that Fergies more or less wasted 30 million on a striker who undoubtedly is talented but just doesnt fit our style of play. Yet Fergie will continually persist with him rather than let the magical trio of Ronaldo, Rooney and Tevez who caused so much havoc last season.
This isnt a moan or a groan after a couple of bad results...we have performance wise been very average this season relying on our defence to the majority of the work and when the defenders arent having the best of times as they can sometimes in a season things go horribly wrong.

I think if we had Carrick for all those games he missed and had Hargreaves this season, I think things might have gone a lot better.
Oh well, things arent that bad just yet. We may be slowing down but we're still in the drivers seat.

I just think Berbatov is a too much of a luxury and if teams decide to have a go he is out of the game. If he had played when we had Keane, he would have been a legend.

yeah he disappears against a team that wants to defend. he looks great against stoke when they're standing off of us but when there's some pressure hes nowhere to be found. i didnt see the game today but thats whats happened every other time.

I watch the match and I was impressed in both ways: badly and greatly by Man Utd. The first half was awful and I think it was Ferggie's fault. Giggs and Scholes in the middle? That souded as if he was underestimating Fulham.

In the 2nd half, Man Utd was brilliant and deserved a lot more. Fulham played badly and didn't understand they had to put the team up. Only luck eluded a united goal.

I didn't like the referee sending off Rooney (to me, the best player in the pitch). Obviously Rooney should refrain from this kind of acts, but I didn't see it as a direct agression to anyone, just a harsh reactiion that the referee soulh dhave ignored given the result and time and the fact he didn't did anything against anyone. But that doesn't change the result.

I liked the work of Park and Evra and was shocked and delighted of Johnson's permormance for Fulham. He did some controls in the midfield that were impressive (and I wasn't hoping) and right when his team was being torn apart, he found some breath for the team simply by holding the ball.

There's Only One Ronaldo?!?!?

Its not that bad lads, We've had a blip and openend the title race but were still in the driver's seat and potentially 4 points ahead.(could even be 6/7 if we get lucky).

The Berba bashing is a easy way out. especially when the stats back up he's been one of our best attacking player this season with vital moments againt, Stoke, Boro and Bolton. I actually think we lack width or width for the formation we try and play, Park isnt a attacking player and doesnt give width and we all know Ronaldo these days is more of R/LF.

I think if we want to play a 4-4-2 we need more natural width but I dont think we have the players. I think if SAF wants to continue to play Berba then we need a new formation and approach to get the best out of our attacking players.

Something like this....
-----Rooney-------Ronaldo----------
-----------Berbatov---------------
---Anderson---------Scholes--------
------------Carrick------------
Evra----Vidic---Ferdinand--Rafael-

I think we should try something like this. IMO We dont have the players for a 4-4-2 right now. The great thing is even when being "below par" we've won the WCC, CC, 1st in the Prem, in the CL, in the FA Cup Semi's. Not bad for a "underperforming side" :))

We've strangely never hit our top gear all season, even during that clean sheet run we were grinding out results rather than thrashing teams.

Been the same for Liverpool as well. Until now, apart from Newcastle away, we didn't really dominate a game. We've hit our stride now. Depends when you do.
