Manchester United Thread

Rooney's diving was terrible last night to be honest.

I shouted 'you fat diving cunt' at the telly a couple of times.

Just pissed me off how boring the game was last night, awful to watch.
 
Yeah the diving really pissed me off, and if Ronaldo wasn't such a OTT theatrical twat then maybe people would like him and not give him shit all the time.

Kaka was world player of the year last year, but nobody hates him, nobody hates Messi, but Ronaldo gets booed at nearly every ground he goes to and it's not cos he's the best it's cos he's an idiot.
 
Come on Jumbo, Im not his biggest fan but that player nearly took his leg off! Funny how Ronaldo gets brandished a diver when all night he got kicked around and its Rooney who dived twice and YET! Ronaldo ends up with the criticism :SS
 
interesting jumbo ,but! maybe if Ronaldo played in another league it might be a bit different. Messi and Kaka made a bit of a show when wanting their way and Ronaldo does it the media makes headlines. I`m not defending just trying to look at it through another window perhaps. So, diving and using your hand to score happens :LOL:
 
I can't say that it worries me too much really.
After signing Robinho it meant that Elano (who was their best player last season) hardly plays, and I think if they were to sign him it would cause a similar problem. After all, Petrov, SWP, Robinho, Elano & Kaka wouldn't offer much defensively to help either Ireland or Johnson.

Anyway, we need to start closing the gap now, so here's hoping we can get a result on Sunday. Berbatov should be back, and Scholesy is back in training so isn't far off returning. :)

He didn't nearly take his leg off give me a break! Pogatetz's tackle on Possebon was that bad but Capdevilla's was just high and he only caught his knee with a stud. It's because he starts pretending to cry and rolling round on the floor like he's been stabbed in the leg with a kitchen knife that people hate him! Other times he gets fouled harder yet he keeps going cos he thinks he'll score and there's not so much as a grimace on his smug little face! Especially if he scores ;).

I agree he gets subjected to a fair amount of kicking but it's cause and effect, he's playing into their hands in a way. If he was more honest and less theatrical I actually think refs would be more protective.

Manchester United have been granted a work permit for 21-year-old Serbian left winger Zoran Tosic.

Manager Sir Alex Ferguson attended a hearing for the Tosic on Friday, and the player will arrive at Old Trafford from Partizan Belgrade in January.

United have not confirmed the fee they have agreed for him, although reports have suggested a valuation of £8m.

The Home Office examined his case because he has played in less than half of his national team's recent games.

Tosic - nicknamed Bambi because of his lean build - has appeared 12 times for his country and can play on either flank, having also starred for Serbia's Under-21 side.

He will join countryman Nemanja Vidic at Old Trafford, with the prospect of more to come as another Partizan player Adam Ljajic, 19, is also reported to be in talks with United.

Old Trafford officials are staying silent on the subject, however, insisting there have been no developments.

From what I hear he's average and probably be sold on within a year.Ljajic on the other hand may be a real prospect.
 
Hello I'm a big Manchester United fan, I was a fan since I was 3 years old=D. Ronaldo is just amazing, Sir Alex Ferguson shouldn't agree about him leaving the Uniteds. He's one of the valuable players in Manchester United and it would be like a funeral if he left them.

To be fair ronaldo is very arrogant. and thats why he is hated. But why not? he is the best player in the world at the moment. Cantona and henry was/is arrogant but they didnt take the same stick that ronaldo gets but they dont get snapped every second game.

He takes a lot of knocks during a game and yea he does over react a fair bit but i doubt both you me and most people on here would take them kind of challenges week in week out without reacting in some way.

e.g imagine if that was rooney getting kicked all game would you see him rolling about the ground the way ronaldo does.. no you would more than likely see him try to take the boys head off.

IMO id rather see ronaldo roll about the ground and possibly get the other player sent off for trying to snap his leg off as in tuesday than getting rooney sent off for trying to knock the other boy out.. I agree that rolling about like your shot is a bit too much but like fergie said players like him (all players for that matter) DO need protection from the refs.


Some terrible challanges go unpunished due to frustration for getting out classed. Im not saying tackling needs to stop and turn football in to a sissy game cause there is nothing better than a clean last ditch tackle but snapping and niggling kicks at players just to try and stop them is not on.

Need a win today. And a Liverpool loss. Anything less and we might all have to get behind Chelsea to stop the scousers wiining the title.
 
To be honest, he just needs to cut out the diving and people would love him. It's not his arrogance. Many players in the past have had that, but they didnt dive. It frustrating more than anything else when you see him hit the floor. Not because he tried to win a foul, but because he's such a great player that he shouldnt have to be doing it. There are other dirty players in the game but people look at them and think "well, if you can't beat them fair and square, I guess you'd have to cheat." But Ronaldo can beat people fair and square, so why does he still do it?
 
If I were Ronaldo and I'm playing against a team of 11 pricks...I would dive if one of them goes in with a high challenge,trying to snap my leg off.Thats one less prick for me!

All I am saying is that,things like mentioned above happens in the heat of the moment.
 
We're playing well for the first time this season really. Absolutely dominant, glad we have a lead because if we'd gone in at 0-0 it would have been demoralising given the chances and posession. Hopefully we can nick another and close the match down.
