I just loved one of the Setanta pundits saying they'd rather face VDS than James in a penalty situation...with VDS' record in shootouts....

Good point. I used to love Smith. Still do to be honest. His fooballing ability is debatable but not many players can match his heart and determination. If he can win me more, I'm sure Henry can too with his flair.

Anyone else pretty content with todays performance ?

Ok no goals but its only a matter of time till they come. Plus a lot of talent is due back, heading the bill Rooney and Ronaldo!

Also maybe a new striker sometime next week.... ooo how exciting this is! WELCOME BACK FOOTBALL

I thought we were very good passing wise, defensively we didn't have a lot to do but we coped well.

Worrying that we created sweet FA in reality though I suppose when we get Ronnie and Rooney back that'll change, especially if we get a new striker as well.

Campbell did well too when he came on.
Looks like he's been training with Tevez as he was chasing everyone down!

Nani was a bit disappointing - opting to take several players on instead of a simple pass, but other than that I thought we did quite well.

Roll on next week!

BTW, I discovered a new song while at Wembley yesterday (my new signature) :))

Well from what the press says, Etoo is staying, his latest performances have impressed Guardiola, but well its the spanish press no1 knows how true this is..

The Silva rumour is BS? or am i wrong, I'd love it if we got Berba! Would probably be the icing on the cake for our squad. :DD

Silva is a non starter he has said he wants to play in Spain and only Spain, If he leaves he will only go to Barca or Madrid...

Yeh I read that but the point is were looking for a winger, So that either means Nani isnt seen as good enough or Ronaldo is off next season.

Oh and he passes worse than a bloke with no legs, so I guess it's actually a good thing that hes incredibly selfish.

I think you lot are being harsh, Considering that was his first season for us he had a good season and it also took another Portugal winger 3 seasons before he showed us what he could truly do. talking about attitude problems he has the same as many foreigners which isnt new just look at our no.7 during the summer.

Yeah, Nani will be good. Maybe not Ronaldo quality, but he'll be a solid winger for us.

Give Nani some time and he'll become a decent winger. If he works more on his decision making he'll be fine because hes got speed, tricks and hopefully they can get better. His shooting from distance aint too bad either

Nani's flaws are all in his head, not his footballing skills. And when you have a player like that, it doesnt take long for Sir Alex to turn them into world class players. Ronaldo had the same problem and he's the best player on the planet. Rooney had a few problems like his temper and he's now got that under control as well. Yeah, you'll see the odd occasion when they go back to their old ways but overall they improve.
Personally I dont think Nani will become as good as Ronaldo but I'm sure Sir Alex can improve him a whole lot more than most think.

is SAF staying to help shape these players or isn`t he off. TBH I always felt when the yanks came onboard SAF cared more for his legacy then to put ease on the FC united group.The amount of money in transfers are sky high out of Chels and mufc camp. Arsenal just finish paying Wiltord transfer bill :LOL:
