I can see Aguero link being the start of the end of Ronaldo. We really havent been linked with anyone to replace him before and maybe the "Slave" comments have been the last straw and were looking for a replacement even if it doesnt turn out to be Aguero. Aguero would bee IMO the best option we would have. :( but how can you replace a player, who can dribble the whole field length, score poacher type goals and just as deadly in the air. really is the complete player :(

Yeah, he really is complete. Might be one of the most complete players we've ever seen. What's really worrying is that when you think about it, he's arguably our best dribbler, fastest on the ball, our best poacher, best freekick taker, best penalty taker, deadliest attacker in the air, most reliable goal scorer, and match winner, our mentally strongest player, one of the best off the ball, the one that wins us the most fouls, our best showman, probably sells the most shirts, the list goes on.
And its not like he's playing in a weak side where its easy to say you're all those things. He plays alongside some of the best players in Europe.
The more I think about it, the more I realise we're gonna have a tough time replacing him when he leaves.

Its turning bitter now to be honest.He shouldnt have echoed what Sick Blatter said but he did...so I guess thats the final straw.If it gets worse,I guess we will treat him like a slave and let him rot till January before offloading him off to Madrid.

What you said about him is ALL true Rune but he wILL be replaced by a better player like how legends are replaced.There is ALWAYS a better player out there,waiting for his chance.

Chris Eagles is not that player ;) Actually Chris Eagles was shockingly bad in the match against Aberdeen. Somewhat surprised, he had potential.

I think despite us quickly getting the 'one man' team label, we'll still be a very capable team without him. No denying he is absolutely lethal when he's on form, but he is still an incomplete player. Some of our very best performances of the season were without him (Roma, Arsenal FA). The biggest loss will be losing someone on the wing who forces teams to change their shape to double/triple mark him. That really created space for us. I can't see Fletcher attracting quite so much attention. And the fact he can provide a threat from free kicks anywhere within 35 (40?!) yards. No one will replace his long free kicks. But short should be fine, between Tevez, Hargo and Giggsy.

Personally I'm thrilled about Berbatov. He really would make our strike force complete. Many people have correctly pointed out that Rooney and the Bulgarian would make a great 'footballing minds' duo, which will be awesome. Plus, if we ever need to resort to a bit more desperate style in nasty weather or what have you, he and Saha provide a very serious aerial threat, and given good delivery for 30 mins you'd put some money on them nicking one. Overall he seems to be the best we could hope for.

Let's do some business dammit!

News in Spain say Aguero's agent said they received an offer from an English Club, one of the top teams in Europe, not Chelsea.

I figure it can only be United...

I don't think Berbatov would fit out style of play. We'd be forced to play more like we did with Ruud because he hasn't got any pace, but you never good, because he is a quality player, so maybe he can adapt.

Thats the most sense i have heard about this whole sorry saga.
I have been echoing those exact sentiments since this crap started many moons ago.
All Fergie will do is bring in a couple of signings (striker and a replacement wide man) and adapt the team accordingly.
Thats what happened when Cantona,Beckham,Ruud etc left...life went on and the trophies kept coming.

I'm narrowing down to Berbatov and Aguero...cannot deny that Sir Alex loves to buy forwards...2 quality acquisitions they would be and I thought we were scouting for a backup for Gaz Neville!

Dam noooo not moody git :(( no doubt he talent superb but when things go wrong for him will throw hissy fit.

If we really paid that much we been taken to cleaners rather have Huntelaar myself.

Except that Berbatov is a much better player, and much more suited to United's current team.

He maybe more suited to our formation and much better player is down to personal opinion.

Fact is i doubt Berbatov would get us as many goals as Huntelaar would combine that with Ronaldo if he stays would be lethal.

But he moaner and rather not end up with another fiasco but hey will see how it goes.

Huntelaar would only get so many goals, if the wingers (Ronaldo and Nani/Giggs/Tevez) actually stay on the touchline provide service into the box. This in turn would drastically reduce the goals Ronaldo and Tevez get.

Berbatov would actually play in the center, be able to hold the ball, and bring runners into play ie Tevez, Rooney and Ronaldo, which would improve their output. And Berbatov is mobile enough to actually benefit from Rooney's creativity, and score quiet a few himself. I think Tevez, especially, will score more, as his movement is just terrific.

IMO, Berbatov signing makes far more sense than Huntelaar. Ferguson is much more clever than to just add how many goals a certain player will get depending on stats from another team and another system.

You make good points i dont have problem with Berbatov coming as long as he keeps head down.

But look what he turned into at Spurs just wasnt hardly bothered last season it more his attitude i worry about.

But i would like to think Berbatov will keep his head down and not end up causing drama. :))

Seems like Berbatov is pretty much signed up, Bookies have suspended betting on him. Aguero can still be the case but just thinking about it I can see Real backing out of signing Ronaldo until Jan or next Summer as he's out til October.

Berbatov = 30M
Tevez = 20M
Aguero 30M
That would probably how the fee's would work if we were to sell Ronaldo.

Yeh what Rune said, Just thinking about it did SAF take a risk last summer with our buys, as im sure we still have to pay for Nani and Anderson as they where installment deals, as that last season we HAD to bring major success to pay of all these fee's just thinking if we lost the CL final would we be in a situation were we would be more encouraged to sell Ronaldo to pay for other areas?

I don't know how can ManU hesitate on buying Tevez. The guy is great! Well worth the money and is a confirmed value for the club.

Around here rumours has it, that ManU wants Paulo Bento to be SAF's right hand man.

Nope no news of that Revan, I think the Tevez deal is more about us waiting to do our business and see how were going to pay for the deal. he is remember on a 2 Year loan deal which means we might sign him in the middle of the season or at the end of his loan deal.

it seem an asking price is btw 20 to 30 mil for Manutd hence why Chels and Manutd can sign anyone really .

Alexis Sanchez hmmmm, 2 players we've been linked within a week to be Ronnie's replacement. I dunno this guy seems good but im not sure about how good he is? Havnt Sporting got another RM on the production line :((
