Marcos Senna just showed us all,why Sir Alex badly wanted to sign him before we got our main man,Owen Hargreaves.

Nothing to be sour about nonetheless as Hargreaves was worth the wait!

Yep Senna is quality, SAF has said that we will only be looking to bring in 1 player, It could be a Striker but we've also been linked with Schweinsteiger and Zhirkov so who nows? Huntelaar has rejected Ajax's new contract so he seems to be on the move!

Could be another Forlan - I remember a similar highlight video doing the rounds when we signed him. He does remind me of a (slightly shorter) RVN though.

Some of those passes / crosses / through balls by the RCM & RM were top drawer though. :TU:

I'm looking forward to this season regardless of who comes or goes (although Quieroz would be a huge loss)

But in your opinions during our most successful period which decade have you lot enjoyed the most, 90's or 00's

Okay we've won everything there is to be won in both, but interms of playing style, teams, players, paticular games..

what stands out..

That player seems like a good finisher, personally i would prefer a all round forward. i dunno why Eto'o hasnt been mentionend it seemed to be a no choice but for me he has everything, height, pace, finishing and it seems Barca are happy to sell at 15M-20M.

I'm surprised you kept Veron on the bench, Vann. I cant really remember him doing much in the red shirt. Carrick has already done more for me in 2 seasons than Veron did.

Veron wasnt good but he wasn't bad either and that wasnt good enough when you spend 30M.

In the champs league veron was breathtaking at times.

we should have won it that year leverkusen done us in the semi!! awesome side, smashed juve 3-0 in their own backyard.

seba in the champo was everything.

Veron was a really good player but he wasn't happy in England. He said so himself and that does play a major role in success or failure.

well he helped us win a title..

but in terms of technique and ability, I've not seen many MF better than Seba.

Maybe its me but certain players have to be seen in the flesh to appreciate how good they are...

Carrick is similar, his passing is top notch, and defo does more defensivley...

With Veron it was just bad timing, and Keano has since admitted that he was too hard on him.

Don't know about you lot, but I'd love it if we got Drogba. He such a prescence up front that he can completely occupy the defence and leave so much space for the players behind him.

Still think if we had Veron today hed be alot more successful. The system we played then didnt really suit his style of play. He was either shifted to the right, left or just behind the striker.

I'd rather have John Hartson than Drogba. And totally agree about Veron, everyone says he was shit but it's not true, he was pretty good, and if he was playing now he'd fit in more, especially with Querioz's 'European' influence.

Yeh me Met, Should be great, where you gonna sit? Marukomu are you kidding about Drogba, rather have Hartson as Jumbo said. Veron didn't suit our style of play agreed but then again maybe he just didnt suit the league? he didnt hit of at Chelsea either.

yeah they let me have my usual seat...

not that big a team to play against (although they are decent side)

but the chance to see Ole in the 20 shirt for one last time was too big to miss!!

I just think we need a strong player up front, like Hughes. Someone to really piss defenders off and bully them.

We had that in Alan Smith and to be honest it worked quite well especially against Roma in that second leg. Then again both Rooney or Tevez could play that role.
Not going to Ole's testimonial but my brothers trying to get us some tickets for the Juve match.

No official news about that solitary signing for us yet.Seems like we are keeping it under wraps while other clubs are making raving news about their transfer targets.Funny how the story about Quieroz wanting to leave us for the Portugal post when he was the one who came out saying that Ronaldo should stay at the club.

See what your saying Maruk but we IMO already have two strikers who dont give up on a ball all game so for me if we get a tall, fast, and good finisher id prefer that than someone who's good at holding the play up and smashing defenders around, i like our more flamboyant style for now :)

Yeah, it would affect our style but I think it wouldnt be a bad idea to have a player like that for our Plan B. I dont mean a big name, just someone who's willing to do a job for us.

Think Berbatov would fit right in, with Rooney and Tevez both doing what Ronaldo did last season. I can see United going for a 4-3-3 next season, with Berbatov, Rooney and Tevez all in attack. Would like to see Anderson play off the strikers.
