Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

FIFA responded saying that Real Madrid didn't really do anything concrete apparently, thats why I still don't believe all this transfer talk. I think 90% of it is all media trying to hype up the move since Ronaldo is at the top of his form and United just became champions. I dont even think they have £75m in the first place. In January our sporting director said that Real Madrid's highest bid was £50m for Kaka, and this was going to be in installments, and that they couldn't go higher, when the media said they were willing to pay £80m-£100m.

Another reason why I don't think this will happen is because there is no actual proof or evidence of Cristiano Ronaldo saying himself that "I want to leave" or "I wont go back to OT" or "I dont want to see Fergie". Its all BS. Coincidentally its also always the same papers sprouting shit - Marca, AS, and the usual English press.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

Apparantly today reports claim Ronaldo has decided to stay and rejected Real's offer?! who knows whats happening.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

In the news around here, he apparently said "I don't want to go back to Manchester". Go figure.. =/

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

Who cares about Ronaldo.. I JUST SAW PARK JI SUNG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe he can step up and fill the void!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

Park has a fantastic engine, he reminds me of Kuyt but with more pace.

Yeah, I was thinking he shares some qualities with Kuyt. Both fantastic players, but I think Park has that extra skill and pace. Every team needs a player like these two--professional, hard-working, and always reliable.

I wonder how things would've been if Park was with us and Kuyt with you lot. Liverpool would be sooo popular here! We probably would've won the double :-pp

If Ronaldo goes, do you guys think Ferguson could be after him ? With Ronaldo gone, he'll need to change the style of the team, and wouldn't surprised me if he went back to the Beckham-Nistelrooy style, but with Bentley and someone like Huntelaar.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

I doubt it, we would then need to change the way we play and its been something we've been working on since we've had Rooney/Ronaldo to try to play this way, cant see it changing even if Ronaldo leaves. Ronaldo is given that "free role" im sure theres other options who can be good for that position. Personally Rooney could try it with us getting another striker to partner Tevez. BUT! we still have Mr Ronaldo :)

Also seems like were back in the market for Berba, apparantly 30M from the CL with 20M of it going to make Tevez Permanent and the rest adding to the 25M bid for Berbatov.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

Apparently Madrid have lodged an official bid (confirmed by us), £50 million.

I'm sat here thinking, we can completely afford to make them pay some ridiculous fee. Slap a £200 million tag on him and see what they say.

Their board have already said money is no object, so why not that much?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

Where did you read its confirmed by us? 50M NO FUCKING WAY?! its alot of money ok i agree but i wouldnt take that when there whole lure has been with silly remarks liike 80M etc, id take 50M if they offer us a player on top of that like Robinho. I can actually see us accepting it.:(

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

The Saga continues...Apparantly Ronaldo has told close friends and family that he's off to Real, apparantly he'll announce this after the Euros followed by officially putting in a transfer request.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

Why is Ronaldo being a prick? Get it on and over with already...sheeeshhh.In my book, its stay on or get off...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

Schalke midfielder Jermaine Jones admits he is 'proud' to have caught the eye of Manchester United.

Reports in Germany have claimed that the 26-year-old has been scouted by the Premier League champions.

Jones only joined Schalke last summer from Eintracht Frankfurt, and enjoyed an impressive debut season at the Veltins Arena.

He is flattered to have been linked with a move to Old Trafford, but acknowledged he is under contract at Schalke.

"Man United are a class team," Jones told Bild. "The interest makes me proud.

"But I still have a valid contract with Schalke."

Jones' agent Roger Wittmann intends to hold talks with the player in the coming weeks to discuss plans for next season, following the recent transfer speculation.

Schalke are keen to hang on to Jones, who narrowly missed out on a place in Germany's squad for Euro 2008.

I doubt it's true, our midfield is pretty much sorted...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

I have a feeling C.Ronaldo ain`t going to RM. His ego coming back to United will make headlines that I feel he wants to see. I will never forget how Ronaldo 1st went to RM he was loved, as he gain a few pounds you can hear the crowd chanting in Spanish "run fatso run..." I felt bad for him. They`ll love you today and h8 you tomorrow. Look at Ronaldinho,Now ,I know it`s apples and orange ,but he`s been push out of Barca like a street whore imo

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

beboq, ronaldinho was kicked out by rijkaard, not barça. Seems like Pep is trying to get him back to the first team. Hope he makes it and finally makes the Ronny--Henry--Messi.
Well, but Ronaldo is being a dick, he says he will stay in ManU then he says he won't go back to Manchester, then his mother says he will stay then he isn't sure, what a drama king!
How r transfers going for ManU?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

Neo in the press conference Pep said that Ronney, Eto'o and Deco are all leaving!!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

Today, on the portuguese press conference featuring Ronaldo, an almost angry journo from Sky asked him, in the name of millions of worried United fans, what he would have to say to them. "No comment until the end of the Euro" was the answer.

Then a Spanish one asked if he preferred Fish and Chips or Paella. He answered Codfish (traditional fish in Portugal). :)

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

Replacing Ronaldo is pretty much impossible but im starting to think its inevitable know...he probably won't be remembered for his time at us either as he's only 23! suprised he wants to leave us at this time in his career. seems like he see's Real as the club he wants to be remembered at.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

What about Ribery? Not as a direct replacement, but I'd love to see him at Old Trafford.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

Would prefer if we bought a CF and moved Rooney into the Ronaldo role.

Just hope portugal go out next round and Ronaldo can tell you what hes got in his little head:DD

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

In portuguese: Bacalhau :)

He joked about Scolari saying that now he's a rival (after going to Chelsea).

Wether he means the Premiership or the Champions League remains to be seen..

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

Thing that pisses me of is it delays our preperations for next season. I think he's split over the decision and he's waiting for the clubs to make the first move.
