Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

The fact that England isn't in the EURO, makes things all worse.

Hope ManUtd complain to FIFA.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

It's the summer, there isn't really much to write about :bounce:

Why dont they talk about the f*ckin' weather then? There's enough shit there to talk about.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

It's because the fantastic BRITISH teams are not in Euro 2008. I'm actually so glad that Petric scored that goal...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

Dani Alves has reportedly signed for Barcelona.Thats another target out of the window.Sigh.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

He confirmed. Its going to be all done in Monday. He's ours. =]

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

Alves was never are target. I think Ramsey is the only target that so far we know about, other than that making sure the current crop continue's to stay together. Btw anyone here think Anderson can give us more in attack? I'd like to see if Ronaldo is rested/sold next season at times we give him that role of starting from the left/right and drifting into positions he's got quite feet with accelaration to match with his bag of tricks so it could work?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

I'd love to see Anderson pushed further forward. Hopedully give him chance to earn the new Ronaldinho tag he was given in Portugal.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

Actually it was the Brazillian press. :)

The Portugal everyone saw him as a great player, but Ronaldinho is a completely different player. But put him upfront and I can guarantee you he will show quality. :PP

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

Exactly, seems as if theres a side of his game he havn't even seen yet.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

Anderson has been fantastic in his 'new' position in the middle of the park for us this season.

He looked brilliant when released further upfront for a number of games.Successor of Scholes for sure and may he be our new star if Ronaldo leaves.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

Anderson's shooting defies logic. How someone can ping a pass cross field onto a dime at full pace, yet can't hit the target from 18 yards baffles me. Must be a composure thing. He's undoubtely a talent, and his energy will be much needed next season. A team consisting of Tevez, Park, Rooney, Anderson and Hargreaves would probably win by simply running the other team into the ground with their effort levels!

So am a bit dissapointed with transfer season so far, then again I think it all hinges on Ronaldo. If he buggers off in a couple weeks, we'll have to get the scouts out in force to start spending/finding replacements. Not ideal, but it's the reality of the situation.

Regardless, we're United, we'll be back amongst it next season, even without a number 7.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

I think most of these stories are false, i don't think theres much concern inside the camp that Ronaldo will leave, everyone expects him here next season and im pretty sure he will be.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

Real Madrid have officially been reported:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/m/man_utd/7416981.stm
http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_3669692,00.html

Manchester United have lodged an official complaint with Fifa over Real Madrid's interest in signing their Portugal winger Cristiano Ronaldo.

The English champions have reacted angrily to the Spaniards' persistent courting of the 23-year-old.

"On 27 May, United made clear its intention to report Real Madrid if it continued to involve itself in the future of Ronaldo," a statement read.

"Unfortunately, Real Madrid has not kept its own counsel."

The statement went on: "The club feels it has no alternative but to make a formal complaint to the world governing body, which it has done today.

"The precise content and nature will remain confidential."

Yes because United have never been guilty of such atrocious behaviour.

Handbags.

I know tapping up goes on , but there's a line you cross , where it becomes taking the piss. That line has well and truly been overstepped.
As far as Liverpool are concerned, at least we've never been fined by the Premier League for it though, Christian Ziege from Middlesboro springs to mind,a record fine at the time as well i think, and your Captains doing a fine job in the press fishing for Barry too.
Madrid think they are above the law and use the Spanish press, Marca especially to publicly unsettle players, I'm glad we've reported them.
Nothing will be done about it though.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

Whatever, total hypocrisy from United. I don't like the way Real go about their business but it's nothing new, and it won't be the last time. If Ronaldo had a pair he would have stood up and said something, but as he didn't and still hasn't, it's on him not Real.

As for Marca - their objective is to sell papers, not be ethical. Never forget that. Just doing their job.

My opinion remains, I want players who want to be playing at OT being there, no one else. Ronaldo has been a wonderful servant for 4 years, and for that I thank him. And I'd thank him to get this crap over with, so we can start to rebuild for next season.

We're defo getting a striker, I personally wouldn't be too surprised if it's Huntelaar, though I'd still love to try and reinvigorate Eto'o. Benzema just seems overpriced and not that interested to me.

im sure we like every club is gulity of tapping players up...

what we are not guilty of his doing it through the press...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

Wow..now it seems that even Aaron Ramsey is snubbing us.It has gone quiet now on our transfer trails.Links have gone cold.Last word I heard was concerning Roque Santa Cruz and *ehem*,Kaka!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

I'm sure SAF has a few things up his sleeve. ;))

I wouldn't mind us buying Lahm. Watched him for Germany the other night - very tidy player :TU:

Has anyone caught your eye at the Euros so far?

Talking about right back, the Russian guy Anyukov (right?) looked really good. Impressed me more than Lahm. Affelay looked bright when he came on for the Dutch. Moutinho in central midfield looked class. So does Engelaar. Hoping Plessis turns out the same.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

The ones that had caught my eye and could be useful to United are players like Mario Gomez,Phillip Lahm,David Villa,Nigel De Jong,Orlando Engelaar and Jose Moutinho.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

IF Ronaldo goes ??? you should get cash + sneijder as a deal. That guy has it all a manager can ask for

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

Marcus Senna played well in the holding role for Spain. Think Hargo is better though (and younger).

I read (before the tournament started) that Villa was available for £17m. I guess his hat trick has inflated it to around £25m now!

I missed the first Portugal game, but hoping to catch the 2nd half of tonights match when I get home from work. Hoping to have a good look at Moutinho, Veloso, & Quaresma.

Come on mate, Gomez was crap :-pp

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

Lahm signed a new contract didn't he?

He is great.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

Affelay and Engelaar impressed me for the dutch, obviously Villa we all know about so not many suprise's there. So far i dont think we'll sign anyone unless someone leaves us.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

well lads, i dunno about you but i think ludovic magnin and those two greek defenders (for the 2nd swedish goal) were top drawer... i hope you sign them.
