@beachryan: didn't see your post earlier thus the two continuous posts. Entertaining football?? Come on... A win is cared and cherished more than a loss. Would you take a loss and the only consolation is you played entertaining football?? give me a break...

I just can't get over how good our team is looking. Our defence is simply...amazing. I haven't said that about a United team for quite a while either!

United have the best attack and defense in Europe.

We've always been an attacking team though. It's great to have a solid back four and GK now. :)

I mean the style you play now, which is very fluid. With RVN, you tended to us the wings a lot more, with balls coming in for him. That's obviously changed. You have always been an attacking team, but I do think you have the BEST attack in Europe now. Same with your defense. 2-3 years back, I would say Barcelona had the best attack, and Milan/Liverpool had the best defense.

I am still to be convinced by your midfield though, which is your only weakness. Scholes is brilliant, but he's getting old. Anderson looks good, but he is a different type of player that I was expecting. He's got a great engine, and power, but he doesn't really control the midfield. Not sure what type of player he will be. Same with Carrick (who is still pretty good and very creative , though not very mobile) and Hargreaves (who I think has been a waste of 17M).

Thought you boys were awesome on Saturday, Villa simply didn't have an answer. It should have been 6 or 7 tbh.

Can't see the title ending up anywhere else this season, I don't get the feeling Chelsea have enough in the tank and we are 1 maybe 2 years away from winning it.

If you do win it then you will have done it with style and with a brand of exciting, attacking football and thats to be applauded.. :applause:

I think the fat lady is onstage now...just awaiting her cue. ;))

CL news...Looks like Edwin VDS is fit for the Roman Job tomorrow night,which is a boost for us.

Roma however looks to have their talismatic captain Francesco Totti to sit out of the game due to injury. :))

Just reading the team news on the BBC & United sites...

Saha (suprise) & Nani are out. Carrick is a doubt, though Giggs & Evra came through training last night. Silvestre is back in the squad, and Danny Welbeck has travelled with the team as well, though can't see either featuring.

I guess it'll be 4-5-1 tonight, with Tevez coming on in the second half (for Scholes or Giggs).

Might be me being hopeful, but think we can get a 1-1 draw. If Totti is out (we'll see), maybe even - dare I say it - a narrow win.

What do you guys think?

I WILL be waiting for her if she comes to hand us our 10th Premiership title!

Tonight will be close no doubt.I would be happy with a draw with goals but would be great if we could nick it...

Carrick will be missed but we are lucky to have Scholes on form with Anderson and Hargreaves hungry for action.

It will be a 4-5-1 without the ball but 4-3-2-1 with the ball.

Roma without Totti will be a bonus but still formidable.The might also be better off without him.Its like they will have more freedom in attack without going through Totti every single time.Kinda like Arsenal after Henry...

C'MON UNITED!!!!

actually that's a good point.
2 years ago, spalletti was forced to play without totti for 3 months (broken leg), and during those months roma played the most beautiful football, and won 11 matches in a row.

missing totti might be either a terrific boost or a tremendous blow.

however nobody would ever be happy to miss a player like totti for such an important match.

Almost there now, im gonna do a bold statement and say i think we'll get a win tonight, just my gut feeling but i can also see a narrow loss

I'm predicting a 2-1 win for Roma. Guess the work might be done later on at Old Trampford.

Well you just knew it didn't you? We have fantastic luck with our centre two, and then we get a problem. Same time last year, the same thing happened and it did us in in the CL eventually. Lets hope Vida is alright.

EDIT - Never mind, doesn't matter, Ronaldo...

must of watch a different game then me...manutd sat back w/ led in their trunks no movement at all. If Ronaldo wasn`t on the pitch to dance w/ the ball this game would of look so one-sided. I hope he never leaves United cause they will be dull. Manutd plays effective football while chels plays result football and L`pool nevermind

Also thought United sat back and scored their 2 goals in something like 4 shots on goal. Roma were pushing but just couldn't do anything. Good save by van der Saar.

Not over yet, anyway. Roma look a fantastic side and if their attack comes off, they are capable of scoring goals at OT. It takes a lot of pressure off the next game, but I hope we don't just sit back.

The reason they sit back is because they have Ronaldo.

If they didn't, then they'd adapt their team to play more of an all round way away from home.
They played it perfectly tonight and are generally a joy to watch.
