Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread, 5 points clear + 7 games left = 10th Prem T

amazing performance by us tonight

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread, 5 points clear + 7 games left = 10th Prem T

Our attackers seem almost impossible to mark at times. Great stuff from the lads, just a shame the Arses managed a fantastic comeback, seemed like they were dead and buried.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread, 5 points clear + 7 games left = 10th Prem T

Nice goal by ronaldo and setting up rooneys goals.

Again I only remembered to watch the game when it was almost over.

gonna check inter game.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread, 5 points clear + 7 games left = 10th Prem T

Great result:TU: one step closer to the title anyway im quite nervous about Tuesday surprised we didn't rest any of the front four i hope we can get an away goal i'd take last season's score of 2-1 to them and then take it back to Old Trafford

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread, 5 points clear + 7 games left = 10th Prem T

It's 2-0 at the Reebok now!

and then what happen at the reebok?

Edit: Ronaldo`s goal made me laugh for about 3 min. he is the Michael Jordan of Football ( Michael Jordan change the dynamics of the NBA )

Lovin' it. JUST LOVIN' IT!

Newcastle 1 - 5 United

Fulham 0 - 3 United

Derby 0 - 1 United

United 2 - 0 Bolton

United 3 - 0 Liverpool

United 4 - 0 Aston Villa

We just look incredible ALL OVER the pitch at the moment. Defence is SOLID, midfield is compact yet creative & the attack speaks for itself.

Carrick has been superb, Evra is the best left-back in Europe, Rooney & Tevez just don't stop running and Ronaldo, well, is simply a genius. We ARE the best team in England at the moment - Chelsea & Arsenal have to win all of their remaining games if they want the title in my opinion.

Good times for United supporters - hopefully we can push on in the Champions League.

:)

Ronaldo's flick goal say's it all about his form he's on the same level that Henry was on when he scored that backheel :) Rome on tuesday should be a tough one 4-5-1?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread, 5 points clear + 7 games left = 10th Prem T

Thread name needs to be updated were know 6 clear with 6 games ;)

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread, 5 points clear + 7 games left = 10th Prem T

I think it will be 1-1 tuesday, then we will do them 3-0 at old trafford

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread, 5 points clear + 7 games left = 10th Prem T

I reckon they'll do us 2-1 again.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread, 5 points clear + 7 games left = 10th Prem T

I'd take either an away goal is crucial.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread, 5 points clear + 7 games left = 10th Prem T

Problem in Europe is, once we get to crucial games, we just go for it and lose any form of tactics we may have in place. This is always our downfall. Though I suppose this year with the defence being such a solid base, and having someone like Hargreaves to compliment the attack, I suppose we can just go for it if we wish.

I feel far more confident this year than I did last year.

I don't, even though Ronaldo is better than last year i think our form last year was better than it is currently

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread, 5 points clear + 7 games left = 10th Prem T

Great performance by Ronaldo again.Scored a cheeky goal and had 3 assists. Its beginning to sound like a cliche now but seriously we could have won by a more! Unlucky for Rooney for not getting a hattrick and Tevez along with Ronaldo should have at least gotten 2 goals.Who was the MOTM? I thought Tevez along with Ronaldo should win it.Tevez was running and hustling all day!

We are really on fire now and I hope we burn Roma.GET IN THERE!!!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread, 5 points clear + 7 games left = 10th Prem T

goodness... that boy ronaldo... :EASY:

the ginger haired prince had a great game too imo..

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread, 5 points clear + 7 games left = 10th Prem T

Who do you guys think will play in Rome?

I hope its the normal back 4, Anderson, Carrick, Scholes, Tevez, Ronaldo and Rooney.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread, 5 points clear + 7 games left = 10th Prem T

Carrick,Rio,Evra and Giggs had knocks last night and lets hope they recover in time for Rome.

That formation looks like a Christmas tree formation Ash? We HAVE to nullify Roma's 6-man midfield and clip their wing attacks...only then, would we have a chance.A clean sheet is a must but an away goal will do us just fine in case we lose.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread, 5 points clear + 7 games left = 10th Prem T

Well, trying to counter Roma's unique system will be difficult. I think United will go for a 3 man midfield. If it was up to me, I'd select Hargreaves to be anchoring the midfield right in front of the defenders, Anderson to do the donkey work, and Scholes to provide a creative threat. This is similar to last year's Roma, but last season was a freak game, and this Roma has much more confidence about it. They play arguably the most unique and attractive football in Europe. The key to them is the ability to pass into space, and the ability to read where their teammate might go. So, having Hargreaves is essential because he does the read the game well. United will play with a high line, because Roma don't really have a striker, and their front man is also their playmaker.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread, 5 points clear + 7 games left = 10th Prem T

Great performance last night! Villa just couldn't deal with the quick passing and movement of the front men. They actually looked dangerous on the break at times and on another day could've scored a couple themselves, but not on this occasion.

The interchanging upfront had their defenders bemused and United could've scored more than they did. Rooney's third which was disallowed was a great move, loved Hargreaves run into and cross, just a shame Wayne was a shade offside.

Roma will be a different game though. I think a 4-5-1 is most likely and I dont expect Tevez to start.

--------Hargreaves
----Scholes---Carrick/Anderson
Ronaldo------------Giggs (if fit)
---------Rooney

I've got a feeling he may play Anderson because his battling and hustling may be more useful in the away leg, and go with Carrick in the home leg for his distribution. I think Roma may well sneak the first leg but as has been said, an away goal could be crutial. The chances of a demolition job in the second leg are not very high so it could be vital in qualifying for the next round.

Chelsea have got to win today against Boro or the title race could be just about over.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread, 5 points clear + 7 games left = 10th Prem T

He's doubtful with a thigh injury. Could just be mindgames though? Or maybe I'm just being sceptical.

Roma don't really play mind games :-pp

Totti injured could be a problem. It would change their entire game plan.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread, 5 points clear + 7 games left = 10th Prem T

I've just watched 80+ minutes of the Chelsea match and I'm not too worried by them. Their football is very predictable and they just don't look the team they did one or two years ago. Boro have hit the woodwork FOUR times in their match and dare I say it, Chelsea look suspect in defence.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread, 5 points clear + 7 games left = 10th Prem T

Yeah but they won.

It'd be a crime to football if they win the league with that football. They were absolutely awful, negative, lucky. Not entertainment at all.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread, 5 points clear + 7 games left = 10th Prem T

I haven't seen the Chelsea - Middlesbrough match yet but from reading the reports, it looks like they were lucky to come away with a win.

Chelsea's defence has been pretty scrappy all season, probably coming from injuries causing them to have various pairing at centre back and in goal and then not having time to settle. Injuries are part of football though and it's no excuse if you want to win titles.

I can't count the number of times they've been kicking all over the place, throwing themselves at the ball trying to get it away in goalmouth scrambles but more often than not, they seem to get away with it. They look far from composed at the back and I think this is something United should look to exploit, as Chelsea's midfield are also strong and hard to break down. The fact they've been involved in TWO 4-4 draws this season and even conceded 3 to Leicester in the cup shows that they're far from the impenetrable side they were a few years ago.

Saying that I expect it to be a close match, especially at the Bridge but I don't think it will decide where the title goes.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread, 5 points clear + 7 games left = 10th Prem T

agree with your comments mate but as i said earlier a wins a win, irrespective of whether you win by a "scrappy n boring" 1-0 or an "fun n attacking sexy football" 4-0. All that matters is we win and we still in the title race. 'Nuff said!!
