Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread, 5 points clear + 7 games left = 10th Prem T

Wouldn't suit are style of play in my opinion, we need a mobile striker who can drop off, who has pace and can finish clinically, i think Torres would have been perfect for us to be fair, and in all honesty Toni is a good poucher but we had the king at that and let him go;))

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread, 5 points clear + 7 games left = 10th Prem T

I would be over the moon if we got Toni. He would take a lot of the pressure of scoring goals off Ronaldo's shoulders. Plus, he would give us a different dimension to our attacking play. I wouldn't mind if we changed our style of play to suit him as long as it brings the best out of him because he is capable of scoring 30-40 goals a season.

I wouldn't Bash the style of our play for me is simple amazing:-... and we already have a second option and people keep forgetting that. Manucho seems like a real talent and apparently he had a great performance last night for Angola again its on the United site

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread, 5 points clear + 7 games left = 10th Prem T

Buy David Villa, simple as that. He is the best finisher in the world, and would fit in United's style absolutely brilliantly.

Well, bhai, someone like him or Eto'o would be perfect for our system but we seem to be looking for strikers who are less reliant on pace and dribbling ability. What about Klose? He is quick but is also a big threat in the air.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread, 5 points clear + 7 games left = 10th Prem T

Klose = world class.

Never got recognition as that though.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread, 5 points clear + 7 games left = 10th Prem T

I think a lot of you are clutching at straws because i doubt we'll even buy anyone in the summer, and be extremely surprised if we sign a new striker. A RB is what i expect and Tevez on a permanent and that'll be it. P.S i hear Barca want to offload Eto'o and Ronnie in the summer so we'll be linked to them to all through the summer :)

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread, 5 points clear + 7 games left = 10th Prem T

I say we renew Brown's contract, and keep G. Neville as backup.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread, 5 points clear + 7 games left = 10th Prem T

He ain't signing, if he doesn't want to be play for United then fine he can leave i say.

Yeh prefer him to say but if he's being a dumbass then he can leave. Would also love to see G.Neville back in action but not looking good is it!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread, 5 points clear + 7 games left = 10th Prem T

I thought we would have a look at Miroslav Klose before he signed for Bayern.I agree with Revan that Klose is indeed world class,a perfect target man with an eye for goals.Superb heading ability and can finish with either foot.Dont think he would leave Bayern though.

I always prefer someone big as a proper striker...so all those shorty strikers are out for me! Height limit would be above 1.83metres only..whats that in foot? 6 Foot 3?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread, 5 points clear + 7 games left = 10th Prem T

I am sure Ferguson will buy another striker, another full back, and maybe another defender. There will be plenty of options available, and there's going to be PLENTY of activity in this summer transfer window.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread, 5 points clear + 7 games left = 10th Prem T

Saha will be gone I reckon. Manucho in plus Wellbeck moved to the first squad. I don't think there will be any big signings.

Big game today. I can't wait. Villa are usually tough though and they have a pretty good attack.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread, 5 points clear + 7 games left = 10th Prem T

We still that those brazilian full backs to come in as well. I dont think we really need to sign anyone. Or else we'll have to let someone talented leave the club like how we let Rossi go.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread, 5 points clear + 7 games left = 10th Prem T

the players u guys mentioned are all "first picks" (except iaquinta and palladino). None of them would ever accept to become a backup at manchester utd..... also because they (toni, villa, klose) are better than rooney and tevez.

besides, even though they're better player than the manchester duo, i don't think any of 'em (not toni, not villa, neither klose) would be able to carry out rooney's and tevez's duties as good as rooney and tevez actually do.

there's just one foward in europe who interpretates the role the same way rooney does: totti (who actually does it even better than rooney).... but it would be impossible to see him playing in england (actually it would be impossible to see him playing everywhere but in roma).

Palladino is a very, very technical player, i don't think it would be good for his growth to go in england... besides it seems that he might join palermo in the Amauri deal.
Iaquinta instead might be perfect; his phisycal power and his technique are "manchester utd worthy" and he's not a "star" who couldn't accept to be a backup..... but i honestly can't see juve getting rid of him; they bought him just last year, and both juve and vincenzo seem to be pretty happy right now, so...

edit: i honestly agree with runedge and marukomu... don't think u guys need a "big name" for the attack.

Actually, I could see Tevez, Rooney, Ronaldo all fitting in with another striker.

Villa
Tevez Rooney Ronaldo

And we all know that Tevez, Rooney and Ronaldo have freedom to roam around, and that their position doesn't matter.

But I would agree, they have Manucho as a striker, who really impressed me in the ACN. You do need another full back, but that's about it.

In retrospect, it's a shame that we let Rossi go and kept Saha. He's done next to nothing this season and I can't see him getting any better. Manucho looks like a really big strong lad (ala Adebayor and Drogba) and once he arrives, we'll see even less of Saha.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread, 5 points clear + 7 games left = 10th Prem T

If Saha goes I think we will hand over the number 9 to Manucho.Either that or Manucho gets the number 23 that he wears for Angola.

Should be a great game tonight with Villa...has always been an open game and should expect goals,in our favour of course...COME ON!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread, 5 points clear + 7 games left = 10th Prem T

Just got a ticket for the match tonight :D

Unfortunately not in the crowd though, it's in one of the boxes but its free so it's alright.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread, 5 points clear + 7 games left = 10th Prem T

I believe most of us United fans has mixed reactions following the departure of Ruud van Nistelrooy. Some said we are better off without him as he made us all too predictable and one dimensional.Others said that it was a big mistake letting a player like him go,a certain '20 goals in a season' player.

Its frightening to imagine Ruud still being with us with our current team BUT...would Ronaldo get so many goals? Would Rooney developed his new lone striker role? Would Nani and Anderson get as many games?

Point is,great players comes and goes but the way Ruud left,or rather sold, left a bitter taste in many fans's mouth. With that being said,it is widely known that Ruud's ego is getting bigger by the second he puts on our kit.He wants to be bigger than United.Nobody gets that chance here at United hence, the only way is out.Its Sir Alex Ferguson's way or the highway.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread, 5 points clear + 7 games left = 10th Prem T

Still a Legend in my book, i loved the "RUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUD" chants when he scored :DD

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread, 5 points clear + 7 games left = 10th Prem T

I love Ruud, great striker.

In other news, Arsenal are 1-0 down with 10 men. Abou Diaby sent off.

klose? mate he exactly been lighting up the bundesliga this year... tevez for me is a good as villa, right now... cause villa has only 28 goals total in the last two years... in all competitions.. yeah as i type this tevez scores that goal! hhahha

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread, 5 points clear + 7 games left = 10th Prem T

i love ruud, but united are winning without him
