Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

Yeah we have been playing hot-and-cold. We HAVE to pick up some consistency.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

thats football mate, best title, champions league race in years not to mention the f.a. cup and carling cup going to spurs, great exciting season and run in.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

Credit to Carlos Queiroz he has apologized for this remarks regarding Martin Taylor according to Sky Sports News.

If anyone can slag off Taylor it's Eduardo and he hasn't. Hopefully it's the end of this talk and Eduardo can get back playing football as soon as possible.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

If I see the name "Eduardo" on the news of late I skip the story - SICK of hearing about it. Let the poor lad's foot heal in peace.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

Phil Bardsley's tackle on Pienaar yesterday was worse than Taylor's and he only got booked. I don't think Rooney deserved a red card for that 'lunge' when he barely made contact. It was stupid but that would have been harsh.

I understand what you are saying Jumbo but these days, intention alone could get you booked.I think Rooney would have been booked if he had made contact, even if it was minimal.

He was booked anyway...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

Today was the first time I watched the highlights of the FA cup, without reading anyones opinion or listening to Fergies rant I'd have to say I'd feel hard done by if I were a United supporter, that was no red card and I really couldn't be sure if it was a penalty, seriously, UNITED WERE ROBBED I THINK JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE MAN UNITED MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSE

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

Tell that to us and Everton who havnt been given a pen all season!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

Well after the one 'earned' last season against us that Vassell missed I think it's deserved :p!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

I saw the replays of the Tomasz Kusczack sending off today on 'Live from OT'.No way in my mind it was a sending off offence. He was not the last man and got kneed in the face as Baros 'crashed' onto him.Kusczack was really unlucky there and has to sit out for 3 games now.

Saw the reserve game against Boro too.Ben Foster looks really fit.His signature big kicks and long throws were evident in that game. One of his kicks ended up in the opponent box! He looked confident and fit enough to start for us at Pride Park.

On a side note,I think Ben Foster is the only english keeper to have played in the England NT even before starting for United's first team!

Manucho scored on his debut for Panathinaikos last weekend.Carlos Queiroz has also confirmed that he will come in at the start of next season.Big things are expected of this lad.

I thought Kusczack's red was ridiculous too and just to rub salt in to the wound, he was probably more hurt than Baros was anyway!!

How long is Van Der Sar out for? There's a few big games coming up over the next 30 days so if they're chopping and changing keepers it could be detrimental.

What do you mean by this mate, doesnt make sense?

VDS injured his groin and with an injury like that, they can never exactly tell how long he is out for.The groin might be okay in a week but there is a high risk of straining it again even with kicking.VDS needs to be rested at least two weeks but might come on earlier.

Ben Foster is the only english keeper to have played for England even before making his first team appearance for Manchester United, his club team.

Thats because he was brought up for England based on his performances at Watford, where he was playing on loan.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

I think we need to hammer Derby at the weekend to get the confidence back. Liver***t and Chelsea are bang on form and I really wouldn't be surprised if they won the two big trophies.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

I really think them Scouse and Chavs are peaking at the right moment but come on...we are as on track as they are...we too can win the last two trophies in hand.Arsenal are still on top and if we hammer Derby at the weekend,we will go top, leading by a point.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

Must hammer Derby. Chavs won 6-1 we shoudl be looking at least at a 4-0. Excited to finally see Foster get his shout, though not ideal timing! One game back for the reserves and in ya go!

Please please please let Rooney get a goal. Boy needs it more than he needs an anger management coach.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

Champions League draw at 12pm! I hope get Schalke.

EDIT: We drew Barcelona in the practice draw!

ROMA AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!

Home for the second leg!!!!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

Home for second leg of Semi as well if we get there. So I guess advantage us?

Dissapointed Barca v Chelsea didnt' happen again, I do love that match up. They despise each other :)

Roma should be ok, however I worry they've played us so much now that they must be getting an idea of how to win. Then again the 0-0 bore fest earlier in the season that didn't meant anything might indicate we're not on bad terms.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

Nice draw for us guys considering most the games are tough from now on in the competition.

COME ON UNITED!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

Its Roma again lads...They did not change much of their squad from the 7-1 trashing and I believe they have a stronger team now.Their formation is one of the hardest to play against in Europe.Real Madrid had a torrid time in breaking them down away and at home.We should not take Roma lightly as they might have something better now to counter us.Good thing we play away first...but thats pretty much it....The Goons draw The Scousers!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

Roma must be sick of the sight of us. You should of seen the expression on the Roma officials faces after the teams were read out! You could tell they were thinking "Fucking hell, not again!"

It's gonna be a tough fixture though lads - make no mistake.

Anyway, a few memories from last year's Quarter Finals:

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

Looking at those pictures..especially ones with Alan Smith in them...that night must be one of the highlights of his career.Thats just sad now that hes joined Newcastle.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

Can you imagine how much UEFA would piss themselves if it's a United v Pool final? Their opinion of English clubs is so bad they'd probably just get the riot squad out at the airport in Moscow...

I miss Alan Smith. Not for his footballing, not for his tackles, not even for his hair - but for making Rooney's first touch look golden by comparison. :)

Couldnt happen mate. The draws for the semis are out too rite?...If we were to proceed to the semis,we would be facing either them or Chelsea.

I think the semis would be like this....

Liverpool vs Chelsea.
:applaud:
Barcelona vs Man Utd.

Final would be United vs Chelsea.
