Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

We do have the squad to win the lot this season but we can't afford any more fuck ups. People go on about us needing a striker, we really don't, not yet - it would only disrupt the squad. Ronaldo can play up-front with Rooney. It's only a worry when Ronaldo or Rooney get suspended/injured.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

But I think that a striker like Amauri would be perfect for our team. Tall, strong, quick, aerial ability and a natural goalscorer as well as being a good dribbler.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

We'll definately get one in the summer and I think Saha could be on his way. Ferguson is still building a team for the future which will look something like this I reckon:

--------------------- Foster --------------------

---- Simpson ----- Rio --- Vidic -------- Evra

---- Ronaldo --- Anderson - Hargeaves --- Nani

---------------------- Rooney ------------

------------ new striker --------------

Obviously with subs like Tevez, Carrick etc knocking on the door for a place. Exciting times ahead!

I think we've got to have that extra dimension up front, like Arsenal with Adebayor, Chelsea with Drogba etc. We need someone who can be an aerial threat, someone you can bring on against for example, Pompey at Fratton Park to trouble defenders.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

Fergie has already said he see's Rooney as a proper CF so i doubt it, he might buy a CF for the bench though, and Anderson Hargy combo works really well and should be played v Arsenal and then Carrick Scholes v Lyon

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

That Amauri guy is really something...reminds me of Drogba. In reports weeks ago,he invited Sir Alex to come and watch him play...I wonder if we really sent out a scout to do so?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

I hope Anderson or Hargreaves can hustle Fabregas all game today and if he does that, half of the job is already done. They are also down to their 'bare bones' which is a huge advantage for us and playing at home is just icing on the cake.Should be a cracking game.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

Well considering Arsenals 'b' team is still good enough to beat anyone in the league, I wouldn't say them being down to bare bones is a dead cert United victory.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

I don't call Toure, Gallas, Fabregas, Eduardo & Lehmann playing "bare bones"! Those guys would get in the first team at most clubs around Europe at the moment.

I really hope we rest Ronaldo & Van Der Sar today.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

I think United should rest some players. Lyon are no walk in the park, like some people are suggesting.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

Good win considering we didn't play Scholes, Giggs, Ronaldo, Tevez & Neville.

Not bad for a "one man team". ;)

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

Never expected such a one sided affair, but I do feel, Arsenal just didn't want it.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

We were a different class today. Gallas didn't really back-up his "United are so arrogant..." remark either. Him and Toure (the equivalent of our Rio & Vidic by the way) were a joke; neither of them could handle Rooney and they both looked lazy.

Arsenal have yet to come to Old Trafford in the league too; the 5 point lead could be swiftly cut to 2 if they play like that again but I think today was a one-off.

Hats off to Carrick, Park, Anderson & Nani - all four were simply brilliant today. I am proud to be a Red Devil tonight. Liveryawn getting knocked out of the only trophy (at Analfield) they might actually have won this season to a mid-table Championship team is just icing on a lovely cake too. ;)

:) \\:o/ :D :applause:

BBC
1853: Nani starts doing keepy-uppies on the pitch and about three Arsenal players try to kill him. That's the best way I can describe that. Arsenal are losing the plot big time here.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

I particulary enjoyed Adebayor jumping in the air as if he'd been shot in the second-half...and they call US cheaters!

Anyway, lets move on - we're through to Round 6 of the FA Cup and will probably draw Chelsea.

Lyon on Wednesday - gonna be a REAL tough fixture but we have Scholes & Saha back which is good news. :)

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

Good result, didnt see the match though so cant comment.

As for the draw, I really hope you dont play chelsea till the final, otherwise the "Final" will be played with 2 rounds left if you draw them next.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

Our workrate was immense, Fletch ran his bollocks off, and Nani and Anderson showed that we dont need to go out and spend money to replace Scholes or Giggs, I'd start both those lads against Lyon on Weds. The Arse may not have been at full strength but they just were'nt at the races tonight, we didn't allow their players time on the ball. This is just the kind of result i was wanting after the shower we put on last Sunday.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

I thought Fletcher was brilliant, forget the two goals, his workrate and pressing were outstanding, he linked the play well and proved his worth to the squad.

Carrick was on form as well, his passing was class today.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

Arsenal didn't really want this. Gallas summed it up when he petulantly kicked Nani. Still, when a team has an off day, we have to take advantage of it, which we did today. Looking forward to playing Lyon. :)

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

Ronaldo blah blah blah....great player, don't get me wrong and I would probably cry (literally) if he left us but Rooney once again proved his worth. Even Capello applauded Wazza when he was substituted. We have class all over the pitch & FINALLY depth in the squad. Anderson & Nani will only get better which is a scary thought for the rest of our rivals.

Happy as fucking Larry tonight - we needed a performance like that.
