You need a front man fast.

Chris Waddle mentioning even giving Andy Cole a short term contract until Saha and Ole are back.

He would cost less than half a mill and would give you what you need in the short term with a view to getting Sah and Ole back...then you could buy someone in the long term in the next transfer window instead of panic buying someone now.

Andy Cole on a short term deal makes sense i guess pluss he want his 200 prem goals

Thats an incentive right there

We need a striker to tuck these chances away. Spurs next with Everton away over the next few weeks.

except we're 2pts ahead with a game in hand... not the right time to start scraping with us gooners when ur closer to relegation than fulham... u've lot just been unlucky, i'd say ur in a better position to win it then us... atleast u guys don't have to play with a goalkeeper playing for the other side... fcking lehmann...

i have to agree lehmann has been fucking you over lately, its probably pay back for buying fabianski :roll: but earlier i was pissed and said we where out of the race know im more chilled out about it and think simply we need a run of games and where back in it

I'll wait till Christmas before I start panicking. We just need all our players back and we should be fine. But I have to be honest, after watching Torres score that great goal today, it made me realise we probably have one too many players with flair and not enough who'll attack with the kind of speed and aggression that Torres showed. Reminded me a lot of Thierry Henry today. I guess Saha was supposed to be that player but he's too unreliable.

And another point is I dont like the fact that Nani is being forced into the starting line up so early. He should be making cameos at this stage in his career. I think we desperately need Ronaldo or atleast Park back soon. Our bench looked so inexperienced.

Speed & aggression at a decent price, proven in premiership, scoring goals = Anelka

Just my opinion.

i dont think really we need to spend 8M on Anelka , what will we do once we have all of them back ? just forget about him, i think Saha and Anderson will both definetly be on the bench next week which will be good i think the same lineup as the man city one but you never know..

I said the same about fabregas at the time and look at him now. So it will only improve his game

If you sign Huntelaar, it would be stupid to have him become a sub. He is a starting striker, so I doubt United would go after him.

I'm not worried, I still think we're in the title race. I know 16th place after 3 games doesn't look good, but if we take advantage of dropped points by the others, and start winning games, we'll all have forgotten the bad start. To do that, we'll need to take maximum points of our next opponents Tottenham, Sunderland and Everton, so we have a chance of closing the gap on Chelsea before we play them in a months time. I think if we beat Chelsea, we'll definitely be back in the title race, as long as the gap between us doesn't get any bigger before we face them on 23rd September.

Mack,go on...take pride in that victory.You probably need it more than I do.I'm so used to success with United and a loss to the smaller team of the city does not do damage...we're big boys,take it on the chin.You dont see us 'Mancs' here changing avatars when we beat Arsenal,Liverpool or Chelsea...so go on,saviour the moment,might not last long though.

well if you noticed torres was terrible the entire game besides that goal... he lost possesion, kept fouling the opposition, his passes went to chelsea more then his own teamates... granted he scored, but if he hadnt done that his game was awful

Louis Sicknote Saha is already training with the first team but I am sure he is not match fit.Anyone heard anything about Heinze,I thought his ultimatum was out yesterday,the 20th? Apparently he still insist on joining them Scousers.

There should be an announcement / decision today. Was meant to be done yesterday, but it carried on to a second day...

Martins could be a good investment. He's quick, strong, and has a wicked left foot. The only problem is would he be happy to be part of a squad when Rooney (and Saha I guess) are fit again?

I would not want another midget in the team.What we need is someone big enough to attack crosses,playing back to goal and holding the game.I'm surprised we are not bidding for Alfonso Alves.Untried and unproven in europe you say?...no big deal,just ask Arsene Wenger for tips.He is the king of buying unknown players.

Pre the season starting I thought we would do well with Rooney,Tevez & Ronaldo then have the back up when Saha and Ole return from injury...

Now that cant happen I think we do need another CF before 31 Aug...

Non of the teams we have played so far are gonna be challenging for the title, so the points can hopefully be made up against our rivals....

But we are gonna need mo' firepower to at least go on a decent run before xmas...

All summer I have been saying I'd like us to sign Anelka and or Gudjohnsen, of the two Anelka is the type of player we need at the mo...

today the papers have been saying SAF is looking @ Femi Martins...

I've never really rated the guy as an out and out finisher but would happily be proven wrong...

But whatever happens We need a Striker!!

He was never gonna win, imagine what that sort of ruling could have started between players moving to rival clubs, everyones contract would have to be redone with new clauses...

Hopefully he wont kick his chin too much, we need him in the side at the mo...

Heinze's status as a United player is frozen for the moment.I assume Sir Alex WILL bring him back into the side but he needs to prove himself again over a string of games.He needs the take in all the incoming stick on the chin though.

Reports all over saying that Sir Alex has finally pressed the alarm and is looking to buy a striker.Nic Anelka and Obefami Martins are reportedly under his radar...I think even someone like Yakubu would do us a great deal.


Edit: Just heard that Martin Jol had a big bust up with Didi Berbatov.It is well known that Berbatov was Sir Alex's main target before he sign the 4 players.Maybe he would give it another shot now?

Martins would be a stupid buy, anyone thats a similar player to him would be, we need "areal threat" not another player similar to Rooney , Tevez that would mean we would have 2 world class players going for the same position(when Rooneys back) and martins a decent player which would give us no balance i think Anelka would be a ok buy but im not sure how good he is in the air but i think Ole should be used as a utiliy player and we need 4 strikers we have 3 at the moment

Small Strikers: Rooney , Tevez
Larger Strikers: Saha , ________ < and then we would be good to go
