Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

Yeh, nani and anderson impressed me, i thought campbell played well. Evra was always willing to make a run from the back. Gibson did well the time he played, all in all it was a good run out.

was sick of how skysports went on about paul lehmann:| they thought he was a superstar:P

EDIT:

Man utd 11 v glentoran.

--------Heaton-------
-simpson-ferdinand-vidic-evra-
-martin-carrick-o'shea-nani-
------campbell---anderson-----

And young Simpson i thought did well.

I watched the 2 freindlys tonight and id say this is rooneys year
the pre season has done him good hes full of energy and focus for the new season.and remember he was a better player than ronaldo for two seasons before ronaldo took the world by storm and he is a year younger.plus id say anderson needs a year maybe 2 to read the english game.were as nani will have a permanent
place in the first team he looks ready now to come off the bence and do damage half way through a game.and hargreaves well we know all about him hes ready now.but the main man is definetly paul scholes hes on a diffrent level to any one.he reads the game so easy its untrue.

BRING ON THE 07/08 SEASON \\:o/ [/FONT]

Marko84...stop rushin thru your posts mate. :D

Anybody knows our other team line up against Dunfermline?

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

Manchester United: Kuszczak; Bardsley, Brown (A Eckersley, 46), Pique, Silvestre; Eagles, Fletcher, Scholes, Hargreaves (S Evans, 65); Rooney, Giggs (Eikrem, 79).
Subs not used: van der Sar.

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

Watched (well tried to) both matches last night, thought stand outs were definitely Nani, Lee Martin, Chris Eagles (is he already better than Fletcher?), Evra and Simpson, who I thought looked sharper than Brown.

Rooney still isn't a great finisher, and you can see him gettinga nnoyed about it. but he is great at everything else, so hopefully he'll learn to not let it get him down! Anderson looked a step too slow, and I thought Hargreaves looked very comfortable with Scholes in midfield.

All bodes well for Sunday...lets get it started!

Remember Anderson has hardly played.

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

Amongst the new signings,Anderson strikes me as the most outstanding talent yet.He certainly needs time to settle in and regain full match fitness.Words from portugal and brasil certainly spoke of him of having a better talent than Ronaldinho.

I believe Sir Alex will blood Simpson and Bardsley to be Neville's understudy although the latter has a bigger chance of making it.We bought Lee Martin from Wimbledon when he was just a kid and they were furious about it.Martin, along with Eagles,Simpson and Gibson certainly has the talent to make it this season. We should see the kids going thru a lot of game time this coming season.

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

I know your exited about ANDERSON phrase but dont say hes the new anybody that always jinks them.hes very young and it will take a lot longer than nani for him to settle in the team to stamp his authority because of his mental age.but i am very pleased we have him.

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

Playmakers always have the hardest time to settle in any team.Especially if he is walking into a settle team.Playmakers want to stamp their authority and presence in the team with most passes going through them before the killer pass.Anderson might have to fill a huge void in the twilight careers of Scholes and Giggs.

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

I don't think Bardsley has what it takes to stay at United. I've seen him a couple of times recently and he seems to have an attitude problem and not only against the opposition players. He will pick up a lot of cards and give away too many free kicks because of his temperament.

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

HES ONLY YOUNG AND AGRESSIVE AND WANTS TO WIN I COULD THINK OF WORSE ATTRIBUTES.

I was about to type the exact same thing. In the match last night some decision went against him and he literally abandoned his man to go off in a huff. Ball got played out to his man, and before running out to try and pick him up, you could actually see him thinkin gif he could be bothered. I think there are better options.

Biggest worry of the new season for me is left back. Our options:
Evra - undeniably good going forward, in fact I would put him at least level with Nani in effectiveness at LMF at present (don't get me wrong, I think Nani has loads more potential, but if I were to pick a team for Sunday, I'd think strongly about having Evra at LMF if we had anyone else at LB)but his defensive abilities aer still lacking, and he really sometimes gets outdone by his keeness to get forward (see AC Milan match, in full, or Inter friendly). Great against weaker opposition, probably not solid enough for the games where we have to defend for large chunks of the match.
Silvestre - Big strong, good in the air and a does a mind-fart at least once per match. He is undoubtedly talented, but just always seems to give me one heartattack every 90 minutes. Also has a tedency to look up from LB, hoof ball at Rooney as frequently as possible.
Simpson - Looks good IMO, though I think naturally wants to be a RB, could be wrong. Had a strong preseason, is fast and seems regimented.
O'Shea - Remember him? I can actually see him getting a good deal of games from LB, especially with injuries. I think I would, defensively, put the most trust in him doing a job there.

So my conclusion, we lack a first choice, defensive left back. Hopefully it won't be our achilles heal this year!

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

I watched Nani and Anderson playing regularly over here. Anderson played better, with a higher "mental age". Remember, Nani started training with the team earlier. However, the "Scholes factor" might prevent him from getting as much match time as Nani, since Giggs can play in the center of the field as well.

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

Apparently, Bardsley got into a scuffle with an opposition player (maybe Doncaster), plus I think it was in the Shenzhen game he was mouthing off to one of our own players. He looks a bit of a cock to me.

im pleased to hear that anderson has a high mental age in the portugeese league it boads well for his place in the first team once he settles.

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

That is our away kit Rune but the wierd part is,I dont think it comes with a proper away shorts and socks. They seem to use last season's away shorts and socks or this season's home shorts and socks.

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

Atleast he isnt 32.

And if thats our away kit then I cant wait to see us play in that. Black would make us look even more aggressive.

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

the kit looks nice...

interesting that Hargreaves wants 4 instead of 23...hahaha, that's what i would've thought of him having...but oh wellz...seems like Heinze is a goner...sigh

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07
