Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

a good addition to your squad in 3 season they`ll be lethal

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

we need some decent Youtube stuff of the two to see, the only stuff I can find is either very low quality, or it's just pictures (god I fucking hate picture slideshows)

oh and, apparently Chelsea and Barca were also after....one of them...can't remember which, but it's nice to see that players are picking us over them again

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

Wow i'm suprised.. espcially about capturing Anderson. Straight out of the blue.

Look like bye bye now to Richardson.

Now bring on a striker!

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

I thought Nani signed a new contract with whoever... good news.

Now a reshuffle? Richardson? Fletcher?

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

Clearly you don't know these players well enough. Nani might need time, but Anderson can be lethal right now.

I know it takes some time to get use to the EPL that`s all...I would fear eto`o going to manutd

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

We have Rossi coming back. Smith will be stronger. We don't really need a new striker. Goals will come from everywhere.

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

Fuckin hell!!! I'm really looking forward to seeing those guys. It'll be a joy to watch.

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

yeah, i see Goals just flying by from everyone again this year....i think these might be the three for this summer...i'd be surprised if we get anyone else (even though Eto'o will be VERY interesting)

but again, Nani coming and choosing Man Utd than other teams is GREAT....great young prospect and if he is what everyone says he is...we're gonna be crazy!!!

and Anderson...wow...loved that guy, hope that he will really show us what he's worth....but where will he place? will Scholes' place be his? but then what about Hargreaves? boy, i'm having a headache in trying to place them into a formation already....great to see what SAF will test this summer in the tours and such!

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

So much for impossible to replace Giggs and Scholes. We'll see.

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

--------------Rooney-------
Ronaldo---------------------Nani

-------------Anderson-------

----Heargreaves---Carrick(Scholes)

Evra------Vidic----Rio-----Neville

------------Der Sar---------------

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

Deluded mate. Need a striker. Cant rely on Saha or Smith.

Ronny or Rooney may get injured.

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

Why can't we rely on Smith and Saha? How am I deluded if we didn't have a top class striker all year and we were still top scorers in the league? We have added Rossi (who did really well in Italy) and Dong (not sure yet) plus Ronaldo and Nani can be interchangeable. Scholes can get forward more with Hargreaves there. Seems to me that you're the deluded one thinking we need a top striker.

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

i think we need a top goalscorer.

we won't be playing 433 all the time.

when we play 442 we need someone to be a lethal finisher.

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

... i think Charlton's Darren Bent would be a good addition...

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

Yeah I agree - I don't think you need a top striker at all. Smiths looking good again - I think you should give him a chance and if by Jan he is not cutting the mustard - then get someone in.

Rossi will also play well for you guys and if you have Saha back and fit - you definately do not need a striker.

But you guys are loaded and if you can get a player like Eto then you should get him.

I wish Arsenal would pull there finger out!!

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

If ever a team were setting itself up to play the beautiful versino of football it's United. I fear we're going to lack bite though, and height! Ronaldo's is good in the air, but Rooney, Rossi, Nani, Anderson, Scholes, Giggs, Hargreaves and Carrick are hardly big powering presences. I guess the hope is we can just dribble around them, but we've seen that Arsenal couldn't quite do it, sometimes you need a plan B...

Still, have heard good things about this Anderson fella, can't wait to see him in action!

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

Imo you still need a striker but only if youve had it with Saha, Smiths never has been and never will be good enough for you boys he just not a top class player. How far along are these new guys compared to Ronaldo when he first came over?

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

From what i read nani is showing the same level as ronaldo was back then. And anderson is a step higher already.

Think theyll need time to settle as neither has played much last season, according to the bbc website, and thats in a less physical league. But like ronaldo they could be very dangerous in a couple of seasons.

Just shows how much money is being spent and how much liverpool need to spend to even come close. 30mil for two unproven talents, ouch!

And agree that you guys need a new striker, smith has never been prolific, he's a hard worker, and saha has been injured for most of his time at OT. If either rooney or ronaldo go down a gear next season youll need someone else to step up as they were both excellent last season. And we've all seen that rooney just isnt a lone striker type player against the top sides.

All good buying all these players - but anything can happen. They might not fit into the squad they might turn into whining little shites like Reyes.

Just because you have bought them it doesn't mean you will play any better.

But I must admit there is more of a chance to play better with these players and if it was my team - I would be chuffed to bits.

I do Think though that Man U have been buying players well over what they are worth longer than Chelsea have. But At least Man U earned there Money through years of Success - Unlike Chelsea!

Anyway I'm just jealous and wish we had the cash to make sure we get the players we want.

But even with your Nanis and your Granpas and your Aunties and Uncles - Arsenal will still beat you next season! YEE HA!!

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

Anderson didn't play much last season because he was injured. He was by far the best player in the Porto squad.

Mark my words, he will take over Scholes place this year.

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

Thats three good signings for the club, all young and very talented....

Options galore now in CMF/AMF and on the wings....

We do need a striker but, in a 4-4-2 he could play still giggs on the left nani on the right, that frees up Ronaldo to play upfront w/ Rooney...

Smith will be stronger next season...

surely Saha will get abit of luck with injuries...

from what i've been told Rossi helped Parma stay up this year...

even if we get Eto'o, he could have similar problems to Saha, quick players get those sort of injuries....

I think a finger should be pointed at Fergie's man management skills. He instills a winning streak in all the players, and doesn't take shit - no matter how popular the player is. No one is above the team, and you have to think that ethos has served United well since the Premiership has begun.

Eto'o wants to and will go to Liverpool, he won't come to us

according to a few people I've talked to, Huntelaar can be down right lethal, so if we can get him, we'll be reet

one things for sure, if you thought last year was exciting, next season is gonna be incredible

Rumored that Arsenal could do a swap deal with Henry plus £17M, I'd be very surprised if Eto'o ended up at Liverpool, over the moon but very surprised.

Do you mean Arsenal giving Barca Henry plus £17million? If so, that has to be the worst swap deal in rumor history.

If it was Eto'o plus £17million for Henry, that might be fair.

Didnt mean to sound rude, i apologise.

My point is that Saha is always injured so why bother? Yea hes great when fit but if we can get money for him why not sell?

Smith has never ever scored enough goals. FACT.

We need a striker mate. By the way i have been reading thath the money we have spent is the new tv money not our transfer budget.

Who knows?

Also Huntelar is lethal, i would sell Saha & get him. I would not mind Darren Bent as well, hes hungry & thats what we need.
