Score draw? Barca will get a thrashing. They are just TERRIBLE. Even that's an understatement. They look lost.
 
I can forsee us winning at Nou Camp considering Barca's form and the bore draw with Espanyol, I for one am happy the 2nd leg is at OT since that could be the deciding factor I feel home support can be Utd's 12th Man Moscow is only 180 minutes away (pending no extra time or pens...)

I know been busy on another forum since I have a car Corsa-C|UK and just gone off PES6 :(( but in uni in september (hopefully!) and I'll be playing away to while away those boring days!

Btw I am going to the game at Nou Camp cost quite a bit tho for the day but worth it never been to Nou Camp for a game at all! How's the forums been Scousers still being their usual self and all that?

Btw seriously need to change my username!
 
I get the feeling Fergie wont change the team one bit.

We'll soak up any pressure from Barca, hit them on the counter attack.

Then go to Chelsea, and get at them, hopefully win.

:LOL: Who you trying to fool Abhi, we all now you lot are counting your lucky stars as you get the(IMO)lucky draw of Chelsea who aren't going to be a problem to you lot while to have to face on form or not the best attack in the world on paper ;))
 
Barcelona have been disappointing in La Liga, but they've given up on that competition already. In the CL everything is possible.

Still believe United will go through, but it's not gonna be as easy as some people seem to think.
 
Yeah, remember how shit Milan were before we played them last year? Old men... past it.
The problem for me is that we'll give them too much respect and let them dictate the game.
As for the remaining games, Chelsea still have to go to Newcastle. I'd love it if they lost there. I'd love it.

Sorry but 3rd in La Liga, booed by their own fans, drawn the 3rd most games in Liga, haven't won in 6 games, scraped victory against Schalke. Yes thats amazing form. :brick:

How did I make out that Schalke aren't very good? I didn't say Barca are a poor team, I said their form is poor. For a team of Barca's stature you'd expect them to be performing better, especially with players like Henry, Eto'o and Xavi.

re: BARCELONA i agree completely, if we show them too much respect they will hammer us. we need to start anderson and nani with rooney up front on his own. 4-5-1....changing to 4-3-3 at times. giggsy, legend that he is, is passed it. play carrick, scholes and anderson in order to retain possesion, if we give them the ball iniesta and xavi will pick us off! thats discounting moments of magig from etoo, henry and messi. you'd have to be very naive to discount barcelona in this tie....champions league is everything to them.

And did you watch them play? They scraped past Schalke, and if Schalke had been more clinical, Barca would have been thrashed. It all seems similar to last year with Milan, but this Barca team is playing some of the worst football I've ever seen played by a CL team.

As long as Ferguson doesn't try too many tactics, and simply lets United play, Barca will be defeated easily.

Have you actually watched Barcelona play last 2 months. They have been absolutely dire? And what talent are you talking about? Milito has been crap, Puyol has been crap, Abidal has been crap, Deco has been crap, Ronaldinho, Valdes etc etc. They have Xavi, Iniesta (who plays poorly when played in the left wing), Yaya Toure and Messi (who is coming back from injury). Ask any regular La Liga watcher, and they will tell you how crap Barca have been.

Concurred Barca were like headless chickens against Espanyol at the weekend I can see us getting a win I'll settle for a draw knowing OT atomsphere will help us win!

i watch them everyweek. against espanyol on saturday they had all the possesion alot of chances but couldnt score...

did you see the goals eto'o scored last week a great header and a screamer...

along with us they have the best CL record this season and are 3rd in la liga..

which is better than lfc this year so would you label your own team as crap?

and as lfc and milan have shown over the past couple of seasons at this stage of the season if you can raise your game for the knockous you can win it...
 
Most big La Liga teams have been performing poor all year, which explains Barca's position in La Liga. Liverpool are facing tough competition in the top 4.

Ah, the usual excuse when a team like Arsenal or Barcelona don't win. 'Had possession, but couldn't score'.

They're one dimensional, lack creativity, penetration and ideas, and all they ever do is play side passes through the whole game. They can't change their tempo, and even their so called 'one touch passing' (which existed 2 years ago :LOL:) doesn't work, because the whole team is on a different wavelength. They have the best CL record, but they are still yet to face a really strong team, and they have been very, very dull throughout the campaign. The only reason they're 3rd in La Liga is because Atletico aren't consistent enough, and Racing don't have enough squad depth, even though both have been much better than Barcelona this season. Not to mention the several, several occassions Xavi and Messi have rescued them by getting a 1-0 lead in the last minute.

I don't even know why we are arguing about this? Neither of us support Barcelona, I am just stating the obvious, that United should easily defeat Barca.

I think you'll find we need a game plan in Europe.

We got cocky after the Roma game last season and went into the Milan game with Fergie just 'letting us play', and look what happened...

That said, if we really do go for it against Barca, play Tevez up front with Rooney (it won't happen, we'll go defensive being away, sigh...), then we could give them a lesson.

Flip side is that Barca, despite being unbelieveably poor this season, can hurt anybody, and we need to be very careful when trying to control Messi, Henry and Eto'o.

its been the same with us, apart from the derby at OT we could have won the other three games we lost, but couldnt put away any of the many chances we created....

all im saying is that its foolish to write off anyteam that gets to a semi final, especially one with the quality that they have...
 
Last season i was pretty much confident we would beat a "poor" Milan side and we got trounced i really find it funny when people undermine Barca as crap etc, they still have UNBELIEVABLY good players in their side, it will only take a moment of magic from one of there players to turn the game in their favour. all im hoping for is an away goal and not conceding more than 2 so we can take that back to OT.

I think this is how we'll set out

It did the job in Rome and we played well that night so i expect that lineup the only changes from that i can see our maybe Hargreaves and Nani in the team but i expect that

not sure about scholes at the mo, he seems to be more of home player...

i'd prefer anderson, carrick, hargreaves with park, rooney and ronaldo upfront.
