Manchester United Thread

You sold your soul and got bummed.
Our unfair advantage was earned by being a very good 'business' on and off the pitch.
You lot (Liverpool fans)were the first to laugh when the Glazers took over saying we were finished. We still have this massive debt to pay off but it doesn't affect the team and manager.
 
Exactly. You can't call it unfair if its YOU that arent doing things right, not us getting something everyone else isnt. I mean, Chelsea spend more than us but they arent in the same position we are.

Mate, like the others have said: We have had good business brains running the club whilst you have muppets like Rick Parry at the helm who has gone on about "Liverpool's fantastic new stadium" for 3 years now. Where is it then Mr.Parry? As for the "unfair advantage" - complete bollocks. Liverpool's owners are not exactly shy when it comes to shelling out the cash. Rafa asked for Torres, he got him. Rafa asked for Babel, he got him. It's not everyone else's fault he brought in average players too. What about Chelsea? They can have ANY player they ask for. Did you hear us moaning about it? No. We bought ONE player last season (Carrick, who didn't exactly light up Old Trafford) yet still pushed on and WON the title.

You can't say it's "not fair" - businesss is NEVER fair, it's about profit margins and success. Liverpool FC, like United, Chelsea and Arsenal is a brand now. You have to promote your brand efficiently for the best outcome, Parry hasn't done this, our men have.

Again, it all sounds like a case of sour grapes - if Liverpool were playing the same football as United this season, defending like United and all-round killing teams like United have done then I would take my hat off and say "Fuck me, you're a really good team this season" and not come out with the retarded, bitter shite that I have read from some Liverpool supporters on here this year.

put in a nutshell liverpools season has been a complete disaster based on the millions they have spent and no silver ware to show for it, i say that with confidence because no-one is gonna touch Manchester United! 32 years an avid football fan and ive never seen class like this before....ever!

Funniest statement ive ever read. Manchester United, winning the league - a league where the nearest challengers consist of an overpaid multi million pound team of prima donnas who cant really play, a team of youngsters who play fabulous football but have no stamina and another team who have a manager that cant so far turn premiership form into european form.

The rest are all in it to survive as best they can. Yes thats world class that.

Compare it to pre premier league, where the spread for the title could come from any number of teams - Liverpool, Nottingham Forest, Ipswich, Arsenal, Tottenham, Everton, Aston Villa and even West Ham.

Yes Liverpool were successful during those times but they had a fight on each year. These days you only need to take the points off the big sides to almost guarantee success as the rest of the fodder merely make up the numbers.

Also i'll just mention some of these teams....Busby's United with Best, Charlton and Law, Shanks and Paisleys Liverpool sides, Bobby Robsons Ipswich Town side, Daglish's Liverpool, Kendall's Everton and thats just the tip of some great sides over the years not to mentions Fergusons formidable United of the mid 1990's.

Then you have Ajax mid ninties, Ac Milan with the likes of Gullit and Van Basten, real Madrid with the likes of Butregueno et al. Again just the tip of the iceberg and recent history - teams far better than this United outfit.

Thats the trouble with modern fans these days, it's today that only matters, no one has any perspective or brains, its the generation of the Sky fan and it shows with the trollop you trot out as an example and you're supposed to be 32 (dont believe it personally as you act terribly immature).

Yes United will win the league this year no doubt, may even win the Euro Cup too in for what i can only describe as one of the poorest CL in many, many a year, but they certainly arnt the best to grace the pitch in the last 40 years.
 
I'm sure we'll all be cheering the toffee men on tonight, could do us a HUGE favour and also boost their own chase for 4th spot, which i hope they do to lfc again....

What a load of old cobblers mate, where do you copy this shite from, this current united team is outstanding, no one has come near this standard, the kendall era you speak of was great at the time, but would get spanked by the current everton team no doubt, move on , move with the times and enough sour grapes for gods sake, dont you read your bitter posts before you submit....:LOL:

If i was bitter i wouldnt include any United side, or everton side and i'd just bang on about how great Liverpool are.

Jeez some people are deluded on here. Again, the sky generation. If you lot seriously think that this side is even better than the one containing Keane, Cantona, Bruce, Ince,Cole and Schmeichel, Beckaham and Giggs you have VERY short memories.

And when Chelsea were dominating the league under Mourinho, several United fans were complaining that Chelsea had just 'bought' the league. I fondly remember several United fans supporting Liverpool in the UCL semis in 04/05, just so that Chelsea (who were the best team in Europe at that time) didn't win the CL as well.

Ok take Ronaldo out and who have you got seriously? Rooney? Im not trying to say United are a one man team, but they function with Ronaldo in the form of his life.

Take one out of the old United side and they had it all over the park to hurt you.

Thats the difference. Mind you your footballing knowledge is quite limited anyway so i dont expect you to agree, as you fawn over this current United at every possible chance.

You really dont know much do you. Back in Kendalls era players where more gifted. These days they are more athletes. In yesteryear they played on shite pitches, heavy boots and heavy footballs, not to mention heavy kits when it rained. They were hard in the tackle and players like Barnes and Best could still dribble in a mudbath. These days theres disgust if the pitch has a few bobbles.

these days they have perfect playing surfaces, the best facilities, light aero dynamic balls, featherlight custom made boots , technological designed kit wear and super diets.

Not a patch mate.

as for the "old united side" cantona stepped up when we overtook newcastle and carried us thru...

keano also did this for us many times..

THE other week united drop the two ronnies and they were still awesome for you to not see quality through out the team says alot,
Nani, anderson,hargreaves,ferdinand,evra , scholes shall i continue? ok, giggs, vidic,tevez , neville and carrick not to mentiona wayne rooney and cristiano ronaldo, unbelievable talent and this squad is currently playing the best football on the planet by a mile, LIKE IT OR LUMP IT!

Carrick? Nah inflated English priced player. Again, Hargreaves is nothing too special at the moment has a lot to learn, doesnt even play every week.

Rooney i'll give you, Ronaldo i'll give you FOR THE LAST TWO SEASONS ONLY.

Scholes and Giggs are past their prime and not a patch on their yesteryear versions. Ferdinand ill give you, and Vidic is pretty solid but they are two from a very equal group of defenders in this league between the top four.

I think you'd better switch sides mate, you seem to enjoy them and as you come from Ireland you can support anyone and no one would know the difference ;)

The fact that i come from Liverpool gives me an advantage.

I can go the games regularly, we have a feel for whats going on locally with both sides as i have mates that support both sides.

Also Blue, never get envious over anything in life, because it doesnt last :) I can appreciate people think United are a class above at the moment but thats only in the present tense, in the grand old scheme of things they are right down the ladder. The Arsenal side of a few years ago are far superior in every aspect for example.
