Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

Ronaldo is 13 goals behind Denis Law! What's your take?
Possible to reach it, till the end of the season?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

Think its too much to be fair, getting 6 more in the league for 30 is possible though

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

Anybody spotted Nike's ad at OT which says "Best Since Best"? I think its a far cry and a bold statement from them, typically but I think Ronaldo IS the best scoring winger since Giggs for a start.George Best is from another planet!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

Made a absolute classic mistake on wednesday as Ronaldo stepped up to to bury his frre kick, I was watching it with a few red mates and went into a rant on how Ronaldo's freekicks are lucky, that Hargreaves should be the main guy to take them and how he reminds me of Roberto Carlos with them a bit hit and hope...10 seconds later and i look like a right knob and to top it off £20 out of pocket!

I agreed last season, but he must have scored at least half a dozen this season - that's a juninho/beckham esque return off free kicks. He may not be able to control them as precisely, but they're damn effective. That one against Bolton, the movement is absurd. When you see it from behind Ronaldo/half way line, it dips like a knuckle ball in baseball. Craziness.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

How is Anderson these days at OT? I don't really hear much about him, except the occasionall article or higlights from ManUtd games.

He's playing in the middle right? More like a CM? Is he the guy that noboddy hears about but is essential to the team?

Good question mate, at first he didn't get many games then Scholes got injured and he played all our games and became a key member in the middle know he's took a seat back know that Scholes is back but i think to be fair to him he adds more pace and urgency to our game that Scholes doesn't

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

He'll take the place sooner or later then.
Nobody expects for someone to arrive and the place of someone like Scholes overnight.

From the little I've seen Anderson is playing very differently from his Porto days. Not allowed to move freelly and helping the defense alot. On Porto he used to be close to our striker and had alot of freedom.

Nice to see that a player can change his style for the team. Shows quality.

But hell, with a squad like yours, even the big guys go on the bench every now and then.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

I think we're using him as the ball carrier from our defence to our attackers like Rooney, Tevez and Ronaldo. If we're defending a corner and we have our forwards in their counter attacking positions, someone like Scholes will try to feed the perfect pass to start the move. Anderson takes the ball down with him.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

I remembered a song I started in the Stretford End back in 2003 earlier:

"John O'Shea, he's not gay, he's plays instead of David May......"

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

 O'Shea is our new super sub i think he needs to be coming on late alot more often when we need a goal...tomorrow could be perfect:))

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

Oh God. Besides Ronaldo, O'Shea is the last person I want scoring against us (IF you lot score heh)

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

He likes scoring against Liverpool ;)

Seriously though, I think tomorrow will be a VERY tough game. L'pool have impressed me of late and have been playing with a much higher tempo - something I feel was lacking most of the season with them. Sounds like Ferdinand isn't gonna play either so that's a huuuuuge plus for the Scousers.

Should be interesting anyway! :)

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

Ferdinand could be the key. expect pool to make it very difficult in the middle of the pich, and nando to take his chances...worried...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

Worried about tommorow, Nando is on fire, were without Rio (which is an absolute shocking blow with Torres's form) and we also will play with 10 men for the game as Ronaldo miss's the team bus in the big games. Overall i'll be happy with a draw as i can see the latter fixture being a draw.

Don't know where you get that idea. In the game at Anfailed he had two players on him the whole game, so they were the ones with 10 men really.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

Good to see us 1-0 up. Torres and Mascherano being Class A twats, yet the scousers will claim the red card is all because it's at OT and so on.

Just a quick off-topic (for United at least) question.

I've been in Italy all week, so I've not seen any of the midweek games. They keep mentioning about Ashley Cole. What did he do?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

Dammit, wasn't able to watch the game.

Looks like Rooney was the man today.
