Manchester United Thread

Lille will have to play without their inspirational Mathieu Bodmer and starlet Laurent Cabaye come wednesday night.I guess this will be a huge blow to them although the return of Kader Keita could boost them a bit.Neville has to watch out for this speed demon.I guess Rooney will be back on Wednesday. There will be a lot of bruising on that knee and I dont think he can last the whole game.Henke Larsson will also play his last game at OT and I hope will end his stint with us with a bang.

I forgot larsson will be playing. If by bang you mean goal, then yes, it would be nice. I'm hoping we get comfortable and Smith finally gets a run out!

We only got Rooney,Larsson and Smith as forwards for tomorrow night.Ronaldo might be allowed to play upfront like when he plays for Portugal. We cannot get complacent tomorrow night.Lille is on a high after winning 4 nil in their last league match. We are nonetheless pumped up after that victory against them Scousers.I have to say again,Kader Keita is one to watch tomorrow night...he scored and set up 2 goals on that league match.Should be interesting tomorrow night.C'mon United!!!

No fletch for more or less rest of season. No Ole for a month. Evra's injured, not sure how badly and ditto Saha. Uh oh.

Rooney and Smith upfront against boro on weekend...?

Why Fergie didn't dip into the transfer market for at least ONE player I'll never know. Oh well, we have John O'Shea

Figure the real problem will be central midfield, maybe moreso than strikers. No Scholes, no fletcher, means it'll have to be O'Shea/Carrick or Giggs/Carrick. I know which we'd prefer but Giggs can't play every game. Uh oh....

Fletcher being injured surely improves your squad though?! ;)

Think manu will be fired up for lille, with lille being sore losers and their constant complaining. Would want to put a few past them if i were manu just so they STFU.

The kids in the reserve team is not as good as last season's.Most starlets have gone out on loan, the only ones who maybe could cut it in the first team squad would be
Jamie Mullan, Chris Eagles, Kieran Lee and Dong Fangzhou.I hope this injury crisis wouldnt harm our chances of winning the Premiership,FA Cup and Champions League.

1st half just pathetic! Typical nothing performance in Europe once again. He'll never learn and dont get me started on why Heinze cant make it past Silvestre now.

Hrm, another negative performance. How does Rooney's first touch go between sublime and terrible in amatter of weeks? Actually thought O'Shea looked alright, I don't feel too terrible about an O'shea/Carrick central pairing for the next 3 games.
Up front we're going to need Park to start playing again. Pull Giggs up front, and switch between Ronaldo, Giggs and Park playing fluidly on the two wings and with Rooney. There's no doubt that we're now going to be short of goals.

At least if we win Mourinho won't be able to blame our injury-free season!

We are looking a little lightweight to be honest.A hard fought victory as predicted though.I noticed we passed the ball back way too many times and then had to restart building again.O'Shea looked solid alongside Carrick, who had a poor game.Scholes looked like a headless chicken at times.Rooney looked mediocre at times and still cant score in the CL.Ronaldo was a constant threat all game and looked the most lively of all our players. He had a hand in all the goals from the last three matches.Shows just how important he is to the team now.I guess we have to stick to 4-5-1 for the rest of the season now, unless Sir Alex wants to partner Rooney with Smith upfront.

Bit tricky last night, job well done in the end though. It appears to be tough times ahead with a few lenghy injuries but the squad needs to be used at some point. I think that maybe a bit of a shake up to the first XI may refreshen things. Id like to see a midfield and forward of...

----------Carrick--------O'Shea---------------
Park-----------------------------------Ronaldo
----------------------------------------------
------------Rooney---------Giggs--------------

But isnt Larsson available for the Cup game at the weekend ?

Out of the english teams i would sooner play Chelsea than Liverpool, liverpool look the most impressive out of the englisg teams so far, maybe is cus thats the only thing they can win this year, not having a go at ya pool fans, just saying, we want the premiership more than the champs league, but we would happy with Roma or PSV

I wouldnt mind any of the euro teams tbh, as long as liverpool dont get manu or chelsea. Think benitez will have the tactics sorted for the euro teams, the problem with chel/utd is they all know each other so well that games are usually decided by a bit of luck/taking one chance. And in that regard i would fancy chel or utd over liverpool atm.

Larsson is eligible for the match on Saturday, and will most likely play.
Thought Smith looked alright with limited chances. Got a nice snap shot off after good post-play. I 'd much rather see him on playing 442 then the 451.

I was gonna say if silvestre hoofs it up towards Rooney one more time I'd break his arm, but...
