Manchester United Thread

I'd play Ronaldo up front to replace Rooney and but someone like Richardson on the wing.
Ronaldo is looking hot at the moment and I'd definately bet on him to score in the next game.

So Hargreaves was dropped in Bayerns game...interesting. I think Bayern should let him go, in the exact same way I'll support Rossi leaving in a few years. If a player dreams of playing in his 'home' country, and he's put in 9 years of service, youhave to let them have that experience. I hope he refuses to play for them if they continue to treat him like a servant.

And I think it was Milanista who asked what the point of a contract was then: how many signings this summer have been for out of contract players? The vast majority of signings between clubs these days happen with in contract players, hence the transfer fees! A contract just ensures the team will be financially compensated if the player leaves, its not like a shackle, he can always refuse to play. Remember the legendary Obi Mikel? (Oh and I lost £5 quid on that prick already, bet someone he wouldn't see the field before xmas in the prem, but he got a good 6 minutes in yesterday...)

Great result to start the season, we played well in that 20 minute goal fest but other than that it was pretty much just a traning session, we still lacked in the midfield area, both Bullard and Diop were a big influence there for Fulham but together they could not get near the one player who has no peer in the Prem....

Scholsey!!!

The bloke was amazing yesterday his passing and vision (in one eye lol) was first class, the way he keeps things ticking from attack to defense and the way he takes pressure of the team makes a huge difference, I always said we could cope without Keano but not without the class of the ginger prince.

Shame we will be without both him and Rooney for the next three games but shit happens, Saha/Ole/Ronnie and Giggsy (great performance yesterday aswell) will have to take on more of a responsibilty, IMO in Rooneys absence Ronaldo should play in his position.

Carrick should be back next game. Hopefully smith is fit and him and saha can start. Smith is similar type of hard working striker to rooney, and you can tell they only compliment someone like saha. I guess giggs and carrick should be in the middle together for the next three games, and park and ronaldo on the wing. So it should look like this

VDS
Brown rio Silvestre evra
carrick
giggs
Ronaldo Park
Smith/solskjear Saha

oh yeah, gotta give props to Evra for his performance yesterday, he linked up well with both giggs and ronnie and defended well, he's been slated by the media and fellow reds so its only right he gets his due when he plays well...

What the f*ck was that! A bloody onslaught! Shows what some of my mates were saying last season, that Man Utd play better with 4.4.2 rather than 4.3.3.

That was wing play at it's finest. Quedrue prob wished he stayed at M'boro!

Also reminded me of the time we got spanked 6-1... dark days, but it was against the treble winning united side...

It was amazing to watch, everyime scholes outletted to Rooney, you had Ronaldo, Saha, Giggs and shrek himself barreling full speed down the field. Of course, when they play a good team we mgiht get burned for that attitude, but I don't care! I'd much rather come 3rd and enjoy matches then come 2nd or 1st and keep waking up to hear the score!

right then, just got back from Spain after a week, no english telly, so I've had to rely on the papers, and of course, we played today, whilst I was on the plane. So speed me up with things

Hargreaves....coming or not....(bet this has been asked a lot)
Senna.....it's all gone quiet....

the performance (gonna watch it later on the repeat/MOTD2)....top of the league....5-1...perfect?
well you know how you said ronaldo would never score for you united again, and that he sucks... well you were wrong on both counts, hopefully you are glad you are wrong.. he was awesome, rooney was awesome. both should have been men of the match, oh yeah and saha who you think is shite had a goal and two assists....

spot on Beachbaby! How good was it to watch. Much better than scraping a shitty 1-0.
It reminded me of a few years ago when teams didn't know where our next attack was coming from. I loved Ruud, but I think we'll play better without him.

trust me, I'm always glad to be wrong on something like that :) . But still, he needs to play like that all the time, so I'll give him 10-12 games before I judge him again, just like the rest of the team. Saha does too. The whole team played well, created some great goals, and it's looking good. Ronaldo should still have put away the 6th though

Ruud did a fantastic service for us, his goal record speaks volumes for that. But yesterday, we had a fast tempo which helped us completely overwhelm Fulham, I don't think we could've done that with Ruud. The season looks bright either way

Hold on to your horses fellow Manchunians.I am sure every single United supporter around the world are breathing in this fresh new air.Breathtaking performance nonetheless but as mentioned before, its only our first game.Yes we've never started off like this for the longest time but the season is only one game old. What happens if we lose to charlton? Would it be a complete disaster then? I personally will give the lads 10 games or so and we'll look at the stats on the table again.Nothing critical whatsoever here, just bein realistic.

the fulham game was very encouraging for me.This season will be rocked by Man United so far.
any news about hargreaves possible move?

one of our lads is supposed to have spotted in a United company car today. the lad who spotted him called The Sun hoping to have a scoop onlt to be told that he wasnt the first one to call today and that they had sent a reporter to find out.....

looks good though when you think we still have Carrick, Heinze, Vidic, Flet... erm, Rossi to come plus maybe one more midfielder.

We are still not too sure when Carrick will be back but Alan 'Smudge' Smith came through an hour with the reserves last nite.I heard Carrick will be fit by this weekend...

Can't wait to see his passing to our rapid attack. If we can keep the defence strong we'll be great this season I think. May not win it, but it'll be good to watch.
I've not been so excited about a season since the days of Kanchelskis, Ince, Hughes, etc. I just hope moneybags slip up a bit so it can be a 4 horse race.

Formations for tomorrow night? I personally see Evra keeping his place, and we'll need some attack on the left if Giggsy plays central/can still walk after Brown's challenge (can you IMAGINE if that was Rooney?)

-----------VDS-------------
-Gary--Rio---Wes---Evra----
----------O'Shea----------
-------------Giggs---------
-Park-------------Richardson-
-------Ronaldo--------------
----------Saha--------------

Only debate in my mind is whether you rest giggs and play Fletcher/Jones, or play Ronaldo on the wing and bring on Ole. SHould be a tough game, I unfortunately could see us in a tight draw, 0-0 or 1-1.

On russian United site i read that Bayern said they could complain to FIFA about United's determination to get Hargreaves(((

After Ze Roberto & Ballack left them they started to keep their player like their own eye

The Carlos Tevez rumours have now been resurfaced after the player himself declared he wants to move to Europe. At soccergaming forums, someone posted that according to some reports in spain and england a 26.6 million pound deal has been agreed and Fernando Torres will arrive in Manchester on the 22nd/23rd of August for his medical. It is also reported he will sign a 4 year deal worth around £70,000 per week. This in turn will prompt a big scramble between premiership and champioship clubs for Guiseppe Rossi on a 1 year loan deal.So its either Tevez or Torres for United's number 10.Great news isnt it? ;P

Torres said today that he'll stay with Atletico at least for one year more, but if it is false i'd like see him in the squad more than Tevez

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has his say...
Rummenigge has warned United to steer clear of Owen Hargreaves, otherwise he could get world football's governing body involved.

"We have told Manchester United to drop their interest, or we will have to turn to FIFA," he said.

"A club can only contact a player when the club, who owns the player's registration, is in agreement.

"We are not Hamburg, who let Khalid Boulahrouz go at the first sign he wants out. We are FC Bayern.

"We do not just let anybody go - the employer decides here, not the employee."

That stance was reflected by Bayern's general manager Uli Hoeness, who told The Times:

"Hargreaves is well advised to keep quiet. Otherwise I will be very angry and that will not be good for him.

"I can't understand that after two discussions between us he is still forcing the issue. He won't be released under any circumstances. He needs to accept the decisions of those above him and to show some respect."
 mancs, it's never a good idea to piss the Germans off

Bayern are acting like twats. They need to give him to us, he does not want to play for them any longer.

sos mate but we all dont like it when chelsea or Real madrid do it so I can hear where they are coming from...

I do think though that are gonna have to let him go cos he obviously wants to come to OT I also think that with them losing Ballack its bad timing, maybe they are putting up a fight to so they can to their supporters (when they finally sell him) that they tried their best to keep him....
