yeah why did the title of this thread change? I didn't actually hear any news on gravesen. i wouldn't complain, though I think smith is getting better each game, which could bode well for the future. Lets face it, he was never an amazing out and out striker anyway.

He should have joined us before he went to madrid.We did showed some interest in him but it apparently wasnt enough.I'm telling you,he'd be perfect for us apart from Ballack.

We better be quick with Ballack. He isnt getting any younger and I see him as an ideal replacement. In the absence of Scholes and Keano, I think Smith and Ballack would be pretty good.

Yes he's a free at the end of this season. Which is why Bayern would want to cash in on him in January if Ballack is determined to move away.

The big problem here is, who's available AND wants to join us? Ballack hasnt said anything himself about the move to OT. Hopefully, he's just keeping quiet but in his head is thinking about coming here.

Saha is gonna be back soon. I have high hopes for a Saha and Rooney partnership if we stick to 4-4-2. I can easily picture it working well. We still havent seen the best of Saha and its a shame that he's had so many set backs. In case some of you dont remember, his record was something like 8 goals in 9 games for us until the first injury happened and since then he hasnt had a run of games.
I dont think we want to lose Saha. Remember that he's 2 years younger than Ruud so Saha will last us quite some time.

If everyone is back and we sign 2-3 players in defence and midfield, we'll only have ourselves to blame for underachieving cuz that would complete our squad.

Is everyone sure he didn't sign his extension? (Ballack) I thought he had agreed to a month into the season (now-ish?) Hargreaves just resigned with Bayern, hopefully that won't lead to any more such signings ;)

I guess Fergie will be looking for midfielders, I wouldnt be surprised with another defender. The whole cicinho thing fell through right? I wondre if Spector will come back.

And when is Ronaldo going to sign!?

I woukdnt worry about Ronaldo cuz I dont think he wants to leave. And I think Spector needs to stay at Charlton for the season and get his first team football experience.

And I'm sure Ballack hasnt signed his contract yet which is why the rumours of him going to Man Utd are still flying around.

well I cant say who the source is cos you wouldnt believe me....

I can confirm that Fergie, Maurice Watkins and David Gill all flew out from heathrow yesterday to discuss a deal with one of the three players.

Two of the three are MF one young one not so young and I can say its looking pretty good, the third is a defender, it was gonna be a striker but Fergie is happy with Saha's recovery.

The defender is the least likely of the three and could possibly be targeted next summer instead.

The good thing is that the club has a few targets, not all big names but good prospects which is how we shoudl be doing things...

Someone mentioned Ronnies contract, he's still got time left on his current contract so there is no rush, I know for a fact he wants to stay and will sign till 2010.

Can't say I do. He plays dirty, and isn't much of a team player. On top of that he's an asshole.
Man Utd deserve better than him.

I dont think all 3 hails from Italy.If so,damn we are goin Italian!..hahaha...One good prospect,one experienced player and a defender...just what we need.Sounds good and promising.
