Good game today.

Rooney is great as a striker, I loved the movement and passing of Kagawa and Mata, Young was dreadful as always, Januzaj was very lively and positive when he came on. I liked Fletcher's performance as well.

On a side note, Nick Powell scored again for Wigan, and made a tremendous impact after coming on as a sub. He's turning out to be quite good, hope we see him in the United shirt soon!

Most importantly Bebe scored another worldie. Playing for a relegation team he's now joint top scorer in Portugal. Something like 8 in his last 10.

Huh.

So Moyes has confirmed that for the small matter of playing Bayern on Tuesday:

Evra is suspended. Evans, Smalling, Rafael are out with injuries. Oh and Valencia, the emergency RB is out. Oh and even Varela, the reserve RB is injured too.

So Robben and Ribery must be absolutely terrified, likely facing Buttner and Phil Jones (who obviously will be injured in the first half and replaced with a midfielder) for the match.

If we make it out of OT with less than a 4-0 drubbing I'll be shocked.

Anyone that believes creating a dynasty is easy in any sport, just look at this United team. From literally hte best team in the world just 5 short years ago to one that the bookies have at 6-1 to win their own home tie.

I think there is a bet somewhere with really great odds on Bayern scoring 10 or more goals over the two legs. Might be worth a punt with that defence!

So I'm guessing you're going to be playing Bayern with something like:

----------------De Gez

Jones-------Rio-----Vidic------Buttner

-----3 of Fletcher/Fellaini/Carrick/Giggs

----Mata-------Rooney-------Welbeck

Tough ask, to say the least...

Mata is cup tied. The good news is Thiago is not fit for both legs :P and the bad news is BayerFc won the league . So, the only desire they have is CL.

Büttner and Jones vs Robben and Ribery (assuming he s fit) will be a battle for the ages. One for a blooper highlight reel on how to not to defend that is.

I honestly thought buttner did ok last game. He looked more confident than his previous games. I hope he plays the game of his life vs bayern. Well I hope they all do.

Buttner is actually a pretty decent footballer. He has far more skill on the ball than Evra, and when not overly-excited can produce a lovely cross.

But he can't defend. His positioning is woeful,he can't hold a defensive line and his heading is not good enough for a full back when asked to 'tuck in'.

I can guarantee that Bayern will get at least 1 crystal clear chance or goal because Buttner will fail to hold the defensive line, and Bayern will sneak in behind him.

We will be down 3-0 by half time. After that, Bayern might relax, but I kind of doubt it.

Fellaini, Carrick Giggs vs. Lahm, Schweinsteiger, Kroos.

Gonna be a long night. Not that there's much Moyes can do.

4-0 to Bayern, Fellaini getting a red after 3 fouls, 2 of which are barely fouls but get a 'Pep reaction'. By which, I mean massively exagerrating contact, rolling around like death is imminent and behaving like serious p*ssies. Because history suggests that:
a. It's what Pep teams do to disrupt momentum
b. Refs lap it up

Fgs Ryan let's at least enjoy/inject some positivity in the air before the game. Sometimes you make me feel we're rooting for a relegation team :P

C'mon United!

Is Januzaj at startup line? Or in substitutions? I think Bayern just a little strong at the moment and it'll really winning at Old Trafford. But anyway, I hope they're good optimism and they're win today's match ;)!

what a lineup. wish you good luck guys. ten-men chelsea have beaten pep's barça with di matteo as sixth in epl. never say never.

Pass. Pass. Pass. Pass. Pass. Pass. Pass.

Shoot/cross? Nope.

Pass. Pass. Pass. Pass. Pass. Pass. Pass.

So far it's like a caricature of Guardiola football. But we'll tire soon or make a mistake, then it's all over.

Ugh, and despite all that, we've had the best chances. If Welbeck were a striker, not a talented footballer, we'd be in the lead. Strange game.

Also, I've been supportive of him to date, but Fellaini looks completely out of his depth tonight. Can't pass, can't tackle and can't even win headers. He genuinely looks like a competition-winner surrounded by actual footballers.
