Latest Nvidia drivers are causing lag+stutter with PES 2008?!?!

I installed the latest Nvidia drivers which is September 17th 178.13. However when trying to play on 1280x1024 resolution the game stutters. Ball not moving smoothly its moving as if a stone is being rolled over the pitch thats how unstable it is. However I did try Call of Duty 4 and it works perfect, wonder why?

But interestingly when I rolled back the drivers to the older ones, which is from May 16/05/2008, 7.15.11.7519 then there is absolutely no lag playing high quality on the highest resolution.
By the way I am playing it on an Nvidia 8600GT. But I have been playing on it for several months and it was all perfectly smooth until those late september drivers came to ruin it#-o
Could it be because PES 2008 isn't optimized with the latest drivers?:SS Or is this simply a driver fault?
Does anyone else have the same problem with the latest drivers from Nvidia.com?

Thanks

I tested using Fraps software to see the FPS performance on PES 2008 on all high settings including V-Sync on and I get at 54-58 average FPS on a resolution of 1280x1024.

Whereas when I made the experiment with the older Nvidia drivers from May I get a Fraps of a steady 60 FPS on exactly the same resolution and same high quality on an 8600GT.
So here's the conclusion Nvidia are deliberately giving us crappy drivers so that people with the lower end cards get fedup and buy a stronger graphics card:MAD:
Thanks god there's a software like this to test your FPS performance otherwise I would've been completely betrayed by these new drivers. Be warned to the ones that have 8600GT do not download Septembers Nvidia drivers, you'll be dissapointed!!!

I'll stick with the older drivers!!!:joker:

Normally with drivers, you shouldnt really download or upgrade the drivers unless you are having current graphics problems.
Latest drivers are normally only contain bug fixes people have experienced in games and so that their cards have better performance in benchmark programs.

But I use the latest drivers and I don't have any problems with them at all. So I would not be put off if your reading this people.

But it might depend on operating system and card.
I have 8800GTX and Vista 64 and have not experienced any problems with the new driver.

You may not experience lag because you have a very good graphics card where even a deduction of 6 FPS won't ruin game performance!! But my 8600GT although perfect with PES 2008 is quite a sensitive card and every FPS counts!:ACHOO:

Yes its true that normally with updating video card drivers it sorts out problems and bugs but strangely on me it lags big time with pes 2008!
Interestingly I tested Call of Duty 4, FIFA 09 (demo) there were no lags with latest drivers and these games ran perfectly, very, very strange. Considering the fact that cod4 is higher specced than pes 2008..

I even used the Fraps software to test the benchmark of the game and the amazing thing I noticed is that there is no drop down in FPS with call of duty 4 or even fifa 09. But I wonder why PES 2008 falls from 60FPS to 54FPS on average with the latest drivers on a 1280x1024 resolution:w00t:

Actually don't believe what I say it may be just individual. But try testing the FPS for yourself using a simple program called "Fraps"http://www.fraps.com/ its free. At the top left corner you'll see a number written in yellow thats the FPS now try testing the FPS and see how much FPS you get on average with the latest drivers and with the older drivers! And see if it does fall down! Then you'll decide for yourselves whether my comments put you off or not:LOL:

Not here. Vista with 9600GT and the ultimate driver. Works just fine. 60fps in game or in replays.

Interesting I tried playing PES 2009 demo with the latest nvidia drivers and it doesn't lag even on the highest resolutions 1440x900 and I get a constant 60 FPS WOW:-D But wonder why PES 2008 would lag with the newest but is perfect with the oldest drivers:brick:

I have a 8800GTS OC 4Gb Pentium Dual Core 6600 and the game run at 60fps in every situation but the replay go on 30fps.. it is right??

I play at 1680 high details full screen

In Windows XP, right? In Windows Vista the performance is much better. In this resolution witha a 9600GT, i have always 60fps. In Windows XP, 50~55fps in replay.
