Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

I beg to differ. Someone has clearly never seen Alan Shearer in Actual Soccer 3.

Uncanny.

Unreal Engine can straight fuck off, this is how devs need to create and optimize their games. It runs and looks shockingly good across all rigs and consoles. I haven't witnessed an AAA release like this one in years. No lumen smearing, no shader stutter, no nothing. It's fantastic.

Exactly. Idk why CDProject have chosen Unreal engine for their next Witcher game. Is CryEngine more expensive? Warhorse also isn't exactly an AAA studio, I'd say they fall into the indie gaming category aren't they?

It's hard to call Warhorse still an Indie. Their first game was but this one I would put more in the AAA area.

Regarding Cryengine: most developers found it a pain to work with and very problematic (one of the reasons the Star Citizen team in the beginning opened a studio in Frankfurt to be closer to Crytek)

But maybe they have optimized the engine well or Warhorse has people who worked on Cryengine.

Warhose mentioned this too somewhere, they do not particularly like working with the engine but have come accustomed to it now so they felt it was more efficient to continue working with it for KCD2.

Performance is pretty decent.
4K native and no DLSS I get around 80FPS.

Only downside which I hope there is a mod for at some point, the cutscenes are locked to 30FPS or 60FPS.
Does look gorgeous in full 4K ultra settings.

Someone called Realzoa posted an easier solution:

https://www.nexusmods.com/kingdomcomedeliverance2/mods/82?tab=posts

There is a easier way to do this, no need to edit filenames or download 100mb+ files.

Get 7zip
1. Go to KCD2\Engine\Engine.pak and right click it, hover over 7-Zip and click Open Archive.
2. Go to Engine.pak\Config\CVarOverrides\Cutscene.cfg and right click it and press Edit.
3. Change sys_MaxFPS=30 to sys_MaxFPS=0 press ctrl+s(to save), close notepad.
4. In 7-Zip window it will ask if you wanna update it in the archive, simply press Yes.

Some of the dialogues in this game are proper Monty Python-esque. It's obvious these devs had fun developing this one.
The conversations are pure gold like in the first game! I have to say hats off to warhorse. On regular ps5 Performance mode it looks good and runs really smooth maybe a few stutters here and there but barely noticable.

At the moment, I am trying to enjoy it..
I hate games with what feels like such long tutorials and making the first hour or so incredibly boring.

I will keep preserving for now but have to bury a body and get some herbs for an old lady.. Hope the actual game starts soon.

It doesn't actually. Or I'd say it's entirely up to you how to proceed after you see the main quest awarded. I still haven't touched the first main quest...

Late last weekend (Saturday midnight) I was given the opportunity to travel to Central Bohemia. The ticket was given to me by user @Carles P. . What a fitting present for my birthday; I thought; when he contacted me out of the blue! 🥳

So I sat in front of the screen from midnight on Saturday until 8:00am on Sunday morning, trying to help Henry get back on his feet... and my eyes open! 🥳

The world is so addictive, so much stuff to do… and it’s all so well crafted.

I would like to thank @Carles P. once again!! I really do appreciate your gift mate!! 🙏🤗😍

Cheers mate, you're welcome.

…also; the mods bring some comfort to the game. It’s the first time I’m using this amount of mods.
Started with a fast loading game mod, and damn, it’s fast. Added some faster herb picking and and option to always be able to save my progress.
Quality of life mods… that’s the wording I was looking for. Really really nice. 👌

This world… I want to go on and push the story and do missions… but I get lost all the time with side activities. 😂
Lovely to see how (potentially) minor stuff isn’t forgotten and different NPC talk to you about it.

I’m slowly getting familiar with the UI and controls… just for some of those icons at the bottom of the screen, left and right of my energy bar, I need to figure out their meaning.
Anyone got a website with those HUD icons explained?!

Anyway… Henry is shaping up nicely. Found lots of clothes already, trying create 3 purpose fitting outfits (battle, stealth, noble).
Also the fighting gets better and better.

🥳

Im already overpowered an still havent done the first main quest 🤣. The key to success is like in the first game being a heartless thief and dont get caught!
