Keeper's cursor

Noticed from the player setting that it is possible to turn the Goalkeeper on and off. I have tried both but could not notice any difference. By pressing the triangle button, I can still move the keeper whether the keeper's cursor is on or off.

Appreciate if someone could advise the purpose of turning the keeper's cursor on and off.

With cursor on you can select the goalkeeper by pushing triangle and R1 (I guess).. if it's off, you can't.. I think this is the answer, but I'm not 100% sure..
