If my game runs at 60 fps constantly, does that mean its going at full speed and running at optimal level ?

Its just I'm a bit bemused about the speed issue some people seem to be having, the pace of the game seems fine to me. Just checking to see if my graphics card had slowed the game down or somthin.

Cheers

60 fps constantly is ideal, I wish I can get that if I buy an x1950pro with my current P4 3ghz and 1 gb DDR2 ram, running on high setting and 1280x1024.

oh, What is your settings and resolution?

Only 1024 x (whatever the other one is) mate. It slows down to about 30fps on 1280x1024 sadly. Tbh I'm not that bothered since the resolution look alright, I just want it to run at its optimal speed.

Quite pleased then, since my card isn't apparently that good (Radeon 9600 All-in-wonder)

If you're satisfied with 1024x786 than you're ok. but you should know that most LCD screens should be ran at their native 1280x1024@ 60hz, anything below that will result in a lower image quality.

I would say 1280x1024@60hz on high-setting running at 60fps is the ideal performance. however I do not think your card can do that. try 1280x1024 at medium settings.

If you are looking for an affordable solution to upgrade your card, look at the ati x1950pro (around $150). or if you want directx 10 card the best bang for your buck is the Ati HD 2900 PRO (around $250); remember its the PRO version not the XT, there is a big price difference but little performance wise.

with both these cards you can run the game at the highest setting and getting a steady 60fps.

best.

what fps do u guys get when going into cut scenes replays? cut scenes seem to be on the 30fps region.. replays seem slow..

I am somewhere in the low 30's for some reason. I'm running a e6660 with a 8600gts and 2 gigs memory.

Your system should run this game flawlessly at 60fps on high settings. Three reasons that can give you this kind of poor performance:

1. Many services and Apps running at the same time, that are consuming your cpu power.

2. Outdated Video Card and/or Sound Card drivers.

3. You are on Windows Vista.

good luck.

I run Windows Vista and I get 60 fps constantly without any frames drop, even during replays and cut scenes running in 1600x1200.
16x Anisotropic filtering.
16x Antialiasing.
Every setting on high.

And you will find that with pretty much all pc games which are 360 ports you will find them running at 60fps as this is the optimum level for games to work correctly on tv's.

Just curious what video card do you have?

and btw, the PC version is not a port of the 360, it is the other way around. PES 2008 is developed on PC fist and ported to PS3 and 360. Seabass confirmed this on numerous occasions. here is a direct quote:
Ruliweb: The game will be released in almost any platform possible. Is there any difficulty in doing so?

Seabass: To be frank, there isn't any specially-added difficulty just because we're releasing it for all the platforms. The game is being developed on a PC and and we port it to each different console. So there is not too much trouble in doing it.

but your right, the game is optimized to run at 60fps max. I guess that even though it is developed on PC first, they keep in mind that they will have to port it to different consoles, which have their limitations. Plus, I think that PES gameplay would be weird if it ran above 60fps, maybe too fast? (I know that more fps does not simply mean increase in speed but smoothness as well, but still) What do you think?

Nice! Myself I ordered the ATI HD 2900 Pro, I was lucky to find it. It was the last in stock for $254 CAN. I hope it will give me a decent performance with my P4 3.0 GHZ HT, 1 gig DDR2 ram.

Anyhow, I gathered from the various complaints on the board that Windows Vista's drivers are not as fast as XP. Or probably that the OS itself is more cpu intensive. So, that is apparently why many are having performance problems with vista. In your case however, could it be that your system is too powerful that is able to overcome these issues (maybe it will perform even better under XP? probablly not in PES 2008's case but in other games.)

best.

I wouldnt worry about the frame rates too much, yes XP is a little faster than Vista but with every driver release the frame rates improve.

But the main selling point of Vista is DX10 and if your getting a DX10 card you would be stupid not to upgrade.

I have a question, I am getting a:
-DEll INSPIRON 530 Advanced
-Intel Duo 2 Core Processor E6550 (4MB L2 Cache,2.33GHz,1333 FSB)*******
-Genuine Windows Vista® Home Premium ********
-2GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz- 2DIMMs ********
-320GB Serial ATA Hard Drive (7200RPM) w/DataBurst Cache™
-16X DVD+/-RW Drive
-256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600GT-DDR3 *******
Will this run alright, I am concerned about WINDOWS Vista, I heard that there were a lot problems, also I awant to be able to patch...does Windows Vista cause a problem, please let me know as I want to make a decision quickly,. Very much appreciated to anyone who can provides anwsers, also teh people who due editing on this site are awesome great stuff maybe Konami should hire some of these people.

You will have no problems at all with Windows Vista.
Most of the problems with Vista can be easily sorted with very simple troubleshooting.

i`m a fan of vista but Ultimate has a massive lift compare to xp the fact that i can upload a photo w/o saving it 1st is sweet...favorite thing is deleting emails then restoring it that is massive or sub-folders it`s all too much to take really
