I was bored so for fun I bought

ps2:

PES2
PES3


PC:
PES4

I already have PES 5+6 PC.


Now I am going to compare the gameplay mechanics and graphics off each game and decide which is best and what is different between each game.

Though I think 6 is prob best due to biggest community support

Well I have been comparing PES5 to Pes 6 a lot recently or moreso We9lE.

I think for a non hardcore player PEs6 is more pick up and play. Its easy and more fun too dribble, wonder goals are not hard to pull off and the game is attacking minded and fast. Its quite arcadey but fun.

PES 5 is much slower, its also stop start due to refs givign fouls for everything. You cannot dribble all over the place. Lofted through balls through the center dont work they get punted straight to keeper. They key is lofted through balls from middle angled out wide. Scorign wonder goals in PEs5 is harder to pull off but still very possible. Difference being that when you do score one you really appreiacte it whereas in PES6 they are common place. Pes5 is more tactical you have to pass and look for space. Actually changing formation and player postiions has major effects and can win/lose you the game. Pulling off a mazy dribble and beating more than 2 players is very rewarding and requires skill. Overall its a more simulation like game. I wouldnt say this makes it better than PES6. Its defiantley not a good game for casual gamers. It requires much more concentration and thought than pes6. One mistake can cost a goal and its hard to pull it back. Losign a goal in Pes 6 can be no big deal you can score from kick off sometimes, beat 2 players shoot form 30 yds..goal...

So for me so far its hard to say which I prefer. Sometimes PES5 just gets real frustrating being hard to score or constant fouls so in that respect I often prefer PES6 for more flowing fun.

Id say teh gameplay is more rigid in PEs5 also, most goals occur from a similar situation I feel in PEs6 goals can occur form more spontanoues situations

pes6 with proper stats (shollym, psd or fm) is quite a great game. those flaws are mostly gone. and it has superb editing community.

we9le is probably the best out of the box, but it lacks bigger and stronger editing community.

Defiantley I was playing shylomm. Obviously his OF makes i real slow. I dotn know if the original OF in his DOwnload plays the same as PES6 out of the box?

Anyway IMO Pes6 with patches and stadiums is the best game.

I find PEs6 to be more dynamic. For me PES5 has too many similar plays and the lofted through ball straight through middle is ridiculous as are the amount of fouls. PES6 flows much better. Also I prefer how keepers parry more than catch in pes6. It keeps the game alive albiet from an attackers advantage. In pes5 the keeper catches most shots and that ends the attack. With a parry the game is more lively. Some may see this as a negative and too many rebound goals but I prefer it.

I recall really enjoying Pes3 and PES4. But so long ago I have no idea how it compares to pes5/6

I recall in Pes3/4 I could score form half way line easily even with defenders like almost any time I wanted.. Also volleys and goals from long range were easy.

but in order to people make great modds, you need to have good community like pes6 - 2011 have here in evo web.

besides, no one who modds pes6 or pes 2011 or fifa would modd also another game, in this case we9le. time is also a factor of limits ;)
 
also you could get GOAL STORM, ISS PRO 97 & 98, the beginning of the evolution of the best game series ever made.., infact im gonna look round the net for these right now LOLOL!!:PIRATE:

So original OF in shylom is exact same play as out of box or slightly modified also but not as slow as shylomm OF?

Shylomm OF all speeds are like reduced to 50-60

Yeah emulators :P I've done all that already too, played pretty much every "PES" game there is for nearly every plataform (including gamecube haha).

I have fondest memories of pes3/4 because I used to play them with mates all the time. Same with pes 1/2 somewhat Not so much 5/6

ISS Deluxe and ISS 98 are awesome for their time. PES 2, 3, and 5 still the top of the top in football games. And still as playable as ever, means I can get back to those three and have a fantastic time with it anytime I want.
 
Well I played a few more games.

PES6. I played comp and won 1-0 and 2-1. all 3 off my goals I saved. Thats how good they were. 3 screamers out of 3 goals.

1. Cambiasso volley 25 yards from clearance into corner

2. Totti half volley from 35-40 yds. I sht you not. bottom corner.

3. Totti again. 1st tiem curling shot from 25 yds out.

I then put on PES5. And 1st thing I notice is slowness off the game. Straight after playing Pes6 its really apparent but as you get into it the slowness felling wears off. I also notice the game is much more rigid, defenses are much tighter and if you want a chance you need to make it through passing and space. Hopeful shots will never go anywhere near goal. So no point unlike PEs6 sometimes a 30 yd 1st timer will get you a goal or rebound. You have to make good chances to get goals.

Anyway I got bored quick so put PEs6 back on.

1st thought on putting Pes6 back on. There is so much more space on the picth. Seems like pitch is 2x size of PEs5. Also player movement and passes are much less rigid, more dynamic feel too it.

I dotn know why i thought pes5 was more realistic game. It is certianly slower and harder to score wonder goals but Id say pes6 is more dynamic and therfore realistic in soem respects.

Now i will move onto pes 1

Well, that is the first clue out of many right there, why it's more realistic...
 
that's correct.

but only with default OF.

but when you play pes6 with pes7 patch, shollym patch or phoenix patch, it's not the same game when you first install it and play it. it's a much harder game.

that's why i said that we9le is a postive balance between pes6 and pes5.
 
Well I played a few games off 1,2,3 last night and

I was amazed at how similar 1 is to even 5 and 6. The game play though some changes can still be recognized way back to then. Off course after PEs6 it went kinda weird.

I noticed that PES2 had a weird dribble and movement about it. The players just ran about like ducks or something lol but Id say the game was an imrpovement.

I only had a short play off 3 but it was apparent player movement and dribbling had been improved. I think this is when PES finally became a lot smoother 1 and 2 slightly rigid movement. 3 is the 1st to use the right stick for tricks also not manual pass.

Playing these games relives fond memories of master leagues and editing lol...I cant recall having had such fun with PES since PES5. I was addicited to 1-5 at the times. I was aborad when 6 was out and came back to 2008 which was total BS and 2009, 2010 ok 2011 ok but never addicted to them.

I feel like Im back home even playing PES 1 compared to PEs 2011.

It's, all what you mentioned above is easier. Again, contradictory with realism.

Realistic gameplay should never be about how easy it is to create scoring chances, how easy is to dribble and skip past players, how easy to score long ranger goals, how easy it is to retain possesion etc... You must work hard to create a decent scoring chance, and that is not what pes6 is.

This is what we9le offers. But like I always say, it depends on what somebody looks for in the game. If one looks for "fun" even if it's not realistic, he should go for pes6. On the other hand, if someone wants fun as a RESULT of realistic gameplay, then only WE9LE.

Sure it feels more excitign when you create a chance on PES5 as you have to work for it and you may only get 2-4 good chances per game. I also notice PES1-3 are like this. Pes6 is definately the easiest game to create chances I think.

yes with default konami OF. but difference is not that obvious in that department. i still could lose in pro level with default OF against cpu quite often.

the biggest difference is long range shots and free kicks.

but modern patches and OF fix that quite good ;)
 
Yeh I guess it aint that easy to get chances in pes6 its just real easy to score from distance. But its quite fun lol...You do feel more rewarded socring from distance in PES5 but its still enjoyable in PES6 even if its slightly easier
 
Well so far I can say this. I am having much mre fun on my ps2 with pes1-3 than PEs5-6 on pc.

For those that say PES6 is acracdey lol PES1-3 are 2x speed and easier monster dribbles. Only reason PEs6 seems arcadey is becuase pes5 was slow as...

IMO PES6 seems to be a different ''engine'' than pes1-5 its the beggingin off the change. It reuqires differnet game style and play.

PEs5 also is a move away from PES1-4 but mainly due to reduced speed and dribbling ability.


In pes1-3 (have not got 4 yet) dribbling with full baks, wingers and through balls are the key. ALos, when you have a star player you can really fell it. This is missing in PEs5-6 IMO.

Even in PEs6 thoug hC. ronaldo and MEssi may be slightly better in PEs2-3 when you have Ronaldo or Zidane etc...you can really take advantage of it and use them.

For me pes1-3 are much more enjoyable games atm. Bringing bak many fun memories. Each one improves PEs3>PEs2>Pes1 but all absed on same gmapley with only slight modifications....I woudl say PES5+6 dont belong to this brand if you know what I mean.

PES5 is too slow and stop start.


Though Pes2-3 etc..may be more unrelaistic or arcadey and rely too much on fast dribblers it is IMO a much more fun game. Even PEs6 is kinda slow and dull...Long rang goals are quite easy but not in the box or big dribbles.

I await Pes4. Which I think is the one you can score from half way line lol

lol PES 2008 lol...not much else to say.

Been playing more PES6 adn its a mix of pes3-5. Its kinda slow and you cant do huge dribbles but its not as slow or non dribbling as PES5.

Anyway its prob the best game to play right now due to the mod scene.

If I owned only PS2 Id prob play pes3-4

With PC mods I prob just play PEs6.

I aint even hopeful about Pes 2012....I think Pes is dead lol...sadly

If you think that's it, use speeder from kitserver and slow pes6 down, and you will then see how "enormous change" it made.

PES6 gameplay is arcadey, not the speed of the game. The speed obviously gives some perception, but in the end it all comes down to the gameplay.

ps. When you watch a game of football on TV, does the players run like in pes6, or like in pes5? If you will be objective and honest, you will know what the answer to this question is.

Compared to Pes2,3,4 PES6 is much less arcadey.

PES6 is a lot slower and you cannot do monster dribbles..Its quite hard to beat players and you cant just dribble down the wing.

The gameplay on PES6 is only arcadey for long range shooting which is rather easy for a decent player. Though In pes3-4 you could score easier from crazy ranges like 30-45m!!!!! but PEs6 20-25m its not too hard to score.
