Halo 3 - Official Topic

You've just gotta make sure there's a Halo 3 Beta sticker on the front of the game mate.

I'm well and truly sold by the graphics now on the Beta, especially on Highground. Everything looks so lush and colourful - they're a breath of fresh air after the depressing levels from Gears of War.

Some of the effects are amazing too namely the Bubble Shield and Shield Generator.

Also love the way it goes into 3rd person when you pick up a turret :D :D

Yeah I completely agree, they are fantastic visuals. I can't believe the likes of IGN think that the recent Halo 2 maps look better, they are seriously on drugs me thinks! Either that or I am playing a different game.

No. Me too. Its a very generic FPS. Very well balanced but still generic. I'm so much more excited about Unreal Tournament 3. That'll shit all over this, in my opinion.

UPDATE : 5/16/07 3:55 p.m.
We're happy to finally announce that the issues being faced with the Halo 3 beta and Crackdown will be resolved shortly. The Microsoft team has found a solution and it's undergoing final testing now.

Assuming the test pass goes according to plan, the fix will come in the form of a Crackdown title update within the next three to six hours.

We understand many of you were eagerly awaiting your chance to jump into the Halo 3 Beta and this technical issue has put a damper on your plans. Thankfully the fix is incoming and we're sincerely sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. Ultimately we hope this will all soon be a distant memory once you pick up the Spartan Laser, launch yourself from a Mancannon and enjoy online shenanigans with your friends.

As a reminder, people who already have the Halo 3 Beta are unaffected by this issue. We'll keep you posted as soon as we have more information.

I'm downloading now anyone got it is it any good? I have never played Halo before never really fancied it but i like the look of this one.
 
I was expecting something really special, but I am afraid this is so average. Can anyone explain to me why this game is so hyped, and why anyone would prefer to play this (multiplayer) over Gears and Graw 2, when clearly those 2 have better graphics, weapons, and gameplay? Just dont get it!!

There's a glitch that allows you to do custom games.

You can use the Magnum, Sword and Wraith, as well as loads of other stuff (such as increasing the speed and gravity etc)

Can't wait - just don't reveal too much, that is all I can wish for now.
 
Its gonna be filled with jaggies on our TVs. I played the beta and it looked like crap compared to those pics so I cant imagine there being that much of an improvement in such a short time.
 
I didn't have any jaggies when I played the Beta, I have heard a lot of people say there were loads, I saw none.
