Guide: How to Enjoy the PES Difficulty Level
Information: All league runs were conducted with the Steam PES2019 Vanilla Version 1.06.00, Data Pack 6.00.
Goals:
- More fun in gameplay on Superstar when top players are too easy.
- All CPU team strengths at the same star level to make Konami CPU results more balanced.
- Preventing overly strong CPU teams that win almost all matches against other CPU teams, such as in the French Ligue 1, where PSG (CPU) wins too many matches and is almost unbeatable.
- If the CPU teams frequently draw or lose, the chances increase that one can still compete for the league title despite their own losses or draws, due to the Superstar difficulty level. When the scripting or momentum of the CPU works against us players, it is more forgivable, as the CPU also consistently loses points against other CPU teams.
Konami League
- 20 Teams (Starting from the second league run)
- Match Length: 10 minutes
- Injuries: OFF
- Permanent Fatigue: OFF
Own team starting from 4 stars.
All CPU teams always at the same star strength on Superstar Difficulty :

If the league is too easy depending on player abilities, the own team can be replaced with a weaker team, or injuries and permanent fatigue can be activated, or the league can be created with stronger star teams.
I had a lot of fun playing with the Konami League on Superstar. I always won the league against CPU teams with up to 4.5 stars. However, against the 5-star teams, it was a struggle, and the fun of the game decreased.

Insights: Up to and including 3.5 stars, there is almost no scripting or momentum. Starting from 4 stars, teams have little CPU scripting/momentum, at 4.5 stars the CPU scripting/momentum is moderate, and at 5.0 stars there is a lot of CPU scripting/momentum. In my opinion, scripting and momentum are manageable up to and including 4 stars. From 4.5 stars onwards, you need to master PES and truly understand it.
