GTA IV - NON-SPOILER THREAD

I lost my save when my HDD failed and I just can't bring myself to go through the missions again, after being loaded and having loads of good weapons and all 3 islands it's horrible going back to the very start.

I've barely played this online so if I see you playing when I'm on my 360 I may stick this on for a bit.

Having just got a 360 again, I found it gutting to have to start GTA IV again because I'm sure I was close to completing it last time (and I didn't backup my save game).

I've whizzed through a lot of the missions though, and skip all of the cutscenes, and I'm not finding it as much of a chore as I thought it would be.

Yeah I think I'd have to do that, I'd completed the missions and was just working through the extras to get 100% so going back to zero is just crap. At least I kept my achievement points.

Yeah I would be. Barely played this online at all, bit of a shame, so I'd be up for some sessions Jay....

And then maybe some GTA. ;)

I didn't think anyone would care about GTA 4 enough now to still want the DLC. I just replayed it and got fed up towards the end. I can't recall the mission but as this is non spoiler it's the missions that lead right to the very end.

I may have cared if the DLC was set around something else - but setting it around the bikes is a real turn off. The missions in GTA4 with bikes are a pain in the ass with the smallest whiff of contact with the stupid ai traffic sends you flying off the bike while the ai you're chasing on a bike zooms away.

So they're saying the DLC = 1/3 of the full game's storyline, how much would that equate in hours? If it's say 20 hours + they brought back some of the sadly missing fun and variety of previous GTA's then it's worth it, otherwise meh, I bought the full game for £10 last week, and now I should pay £13 for the DLC? I think not.

Calm down, CW.

Its taken me this long to calm down ;)

Seriously though I can't believe they are charging that much for DLC! Look at Burnout and the amount of free content we have had for that to extend the gameplay. I guess with Rockstar having no other games they can make money from they have to charge over the odds for this

Displaying the same kind of "throw that money away" attitude that won them exclusivity for the Grand Theft Auto IV expansions, Microsoft have announced that Xbox Live Gold will soon go (sort of) free.

Between February 17 and February 22, anybody playing either Grand Theft Auto IV or its upcoming expansion, The Lost & The Damned, will be able to play free of charge. No Gold subscription necessary. But only those two titles! No sneaking in a free game of Gears or Halo.

It's not often Microsoft are this charitable with their online service, so you cheapskates had better keep those five days in your schedule open, make the most of it.
