Is it me or does the ref never seem to blow the whistle.. i honestly can never hear it. whether if its a tackle or a goal i never seem to hear the whistle.

anyone else have this issue?

hmm strange. i'll try reinstalling it.

also, there is no commentator sound for fabregas. does anyone else find this weird?

Hmm I wonder guys, I remember a similar problem in an older PES where some sounds didnt work if you had hardware acceleration reduced or off.

Can you check your DirectX Control panel (go to start menu -> run -> type in dxdiag

Look if you have hardware acceleration turned off on your sound card, the bar should be all the way to the right

I think that may fix the problem but I'm not 100% sure (I'm at work at the moment and havent tested it)

Give it a go anyway!

Try turning surround off see if that helps,i had no commentary until i did

I have same problem... but If I plug in every connection on the back of my computer (5 speakers and 1 sub) it does work with all sound... sadly I use them for another computer.

I try put on stereo but no luck...

And when I look where the sound goes (on sound properties) it says digital output and I cant change!
This is not a problem for any other game

I use Vista too.

I hear the commentary and menu fx, no music except in the breaks from stadium... i can barely hear the audience during a game and it doesnt change when I score or something
But when putting more speakers I hear celebrating audience when scoring and lot more.

Okay... hmm. I too never hear any celebration when scoring but I think Konami want's it too be like that. Dont know why doh??

To be unable to hear the ref whistle is bugging the hell out of me....

I think this is a problem with vista cos i had it on xp and everything sounded fine, now with vista 64 bit i can barely hear the ref's whistle and some other sounds. Did anyone find a solution?

No matter whether I have the game in stereo (I only use two desktop speakers) or surround (just checked it as there was only one other option to try) modes, I hear no music at all and the only sounds during the game are about two different chants and the commentary. When I score the commentator remarks that the atmosphere is electric and the crowd has gone wild but all I hear is silence.

Anyone have any ideas how to fix this? Tried checking my DirectX settings and they are all fine. The sound test in the PES settings menu works perfectly too, BTW.

Oh, and I'm running XP.

I found a way to fix this temporarily if anyone else is interested, BTW.

Just run a video in media player or whatever you use for videos, then pause and minimise it. When I start PES now after doing that all sound work properly. Not sure why though...
