Future Winning Eleven: PS3!!! discuss

Man , this size thing is so misleading.
Almost every game on x360 is ~7.5GB. That means nothing. They just do it this way , it's full of dummy files or something.
Tetris Evolution is 7GB :p Does that mean anything?

So imo it's better not to make assumptions from disc size ;)

The game was always going to be built for Playstation, it's been the true home of the series for over a decade and all other versions have been ports, none of which for me have ever matched their Sony-based counterpart.

Remember the PS3 is region-free as well so you can import Winning Eleven and not have to wait for a PES port.

If you're basing what machine you buy out of the PS3 and Xbox360 on Winning Eleven, I'd say it's a very simple choice to make.

I thought the 360 version was built from scratch? It certainly plays like that. With all this speculation, who is to say that it wasn't the foundation for future versions. I hope not. I hope it's been built from scratch again for PS3 (and 360 again).
 
Sort of good news here, at least we can hold our hopes now until June then...

What about the hint that the French commentator gave, about hearing some news until the end of this week? Could it be a meta-new, such as "in a week from now you'll hear about WHEN you're going to get actual news" :D

About the disc size: Spreading the stuff into two discs is not common at all... You know what they'll do, right? Release separate versions for each language - like they did for PES6 in the PS2 - and probably compress most images and textures for the 360...

Honestly, for me, it's a non-issue: it doesn't relate that linearly between the X360 and the PS3 versions being equal or different. It's not relevant. Remember that, according to some rumours, the PS3 version of Winning Eleven will be multi-lingual. That alone can add a lot to the disc size.

cos this is a football game....its not one of those games with a story that when u finish the last mission of the 1st dvd u gotta insert the 2nd dvd to continue.

imo they will make a light version for x360. or they will compress the files.

Anyway did u guys check the new konami baseball game??? graphics engine is really good so I am sure pro evo is gonna kick asses this time around. Almost about time, I am planning to buy a PS3 with the 60 euros a month formula. I figured out I gotta drink some 10 pints less a month and avoid late nite kebabs and french fries........

A football game that takes up 18GB would have to be pretty special, considering Winning Eleven 10 was 1.8GB, that is ten times the size.

If the game is anywhere near that size then I think that it will be mostly because on uncompressed sound and textures (and compressing that down to 9GB wouldn't be too hard as far as I know).
 
i think that event on 23rd june is to show of the new we/pes7 i think well see pics and news before then

PES6 360 is more than 6gb right ?
so 18 still possible for a full next gen game, no with old animations, old stadiums, no edit more etc...

if you are talkin bout konami baseball for ps3, try to google "pro baseball spirit!. there is also a HD video on gametrailers. i got hell in work so you have to find everythig your self.

It's not that simple.

I already told that almost all x360 games are >7GB. That doesn't mean that they need all this space.
Games like Football Manager or Tetris Evolution should be less than 1GB, but they are >7GB.
Tetris Evolution ~ 7.2 GiB
Football manager ~ 6.8 GiB

Don't know why , but that's the way they make them. So don't take the sizes into account.

I seriously doubt that KONAMI will make a soccer game that will require 18GB. Maybe the disc will be of that size. That doesn't mean it requires that space ;)
I certainly hope that WE11/PES7 will be very good , but 18GB is ... huge.

Baseball Spirit are only for the Japan market, isn't a world seller game like Winning Eleven/PES and this don't look great to me. I'm sure the screenshots with Inter vs Chelsea are from the PS3 version and look muck better than the baseball game.
