Met the Konami Media rep today, spent most of my time trying to squeeze out as much as i could about Metal Gear Solid. If you're interested, they are looking at a March '08 release for it. Kojima has asked Sony to delay the release in order to support Rumble and Home functions.

With regards to your PS3 soccer game, Konami are planning to release sometime towards the end of August but will delay the release if necessary as they are trying to obtain some licenses for the game. It will be shown to the public on June 23rd at the New Generation Fair here in Japan. There is no decision as yet as to whether it will be shown at E3 this year. Some Japanese journalists have been shown a demonstration. The game is clearly being kept under wraps, usually a sign that Sony is involved in some sort of way.

Hope that's useful to you. I would definetly keep an eye out for coverage from that fair.

Not alot that we didnt know, but interesting comments about might be delaying to obtain licenses and the thing about sony being involved.

Didnt wana bother the man again, but i guess that might be related to what ThomasGOAL found out about Sony giving Konami money.

I'm a 3D animator - you're right on the money here - cloth simulations are very hard to get working properly on one character (let alone 22!)

Have a look at the special edition of Star Wars Episode II (I think its that disc) when they re-did Yoda in 3D - the cloak was going nuts for a long time before they got it working - could you imagine jerseys and shorts randomly flying off characters or bunching up to their heads etc?

True they could vertex dampen the simulation around some areas (to keep it tight) but I doubt it working in real-time sucessfully on Playstation 3 hardware, it's not as powerful as you would think.

Playstation 5 we might see it.

Have you seen the shirt animation on Virtua Tennis 3 (360/PS3)?
Pretty impressive if you ask me, only the shirts are not as detailed as football kits and there are only 2 characters.

What is the best example of animation on a football game so far in your opinion, I'm interested to know?

gr8 find guys been at work i just saw the scans we cant preety say much neither on pes or fifa best if we wait for official screens / videos
