<<Today marks the day FIFA 17 modding changes forever.
I have made several additions to the existing Frosty Editor code that now allows to mod FIFA 17 essentially with the same capabilities as you can do so in current FC games.
Below is the list of all the new features. This will be a multi post thread, and in each post I'll explain how each feature works.
1. MESH IMPORTION
As everybody knows - you can't adequately import meshes into FIFA 17 using Frosty Editor. That is until today. You can now import skinned meshes(faces and other assets), rigid meshes(trophies, balls and etc.) and composite meshes.
Note on composite meshes. Composite meshes are the stadium assets - for example a player bench. Unfortunately I've only been able to make it work if you import an asset with the same materials as the existing one(same count and names). So for example the Allianz stadium player bench has 4 materials. You would export the original asset from Frosty Editor and then edit it in Blender(or other software) while keeping the same amount of materials. It allows for modifications, but yes it's for sure a limitation.
2. FACE DUPLICATION
Perhaps the most exciting feature is being able to duplicate faces. Duplication means adding an extra real face into the game without replacing any existing assets. This de facto means you can have an infinite amount of real faces in the game. Which I believe will be extremely useful for future patch makers.
3. SOUND
One of the other features that I worked on is sound import/export. This includes being able to edit existing assets like the soundtrack, chants, and commentary.
Though commentary editing is something that I don't think anyone will want to mess around with - it's still there to at least be able to listen to it.
