Freezing in Fullscreen/Won't save

I just got it today but when i load the game in fullscreen mode five times out of ten the whole computer freezes.But when i load it in windowed mode it usually loads fine Anyone know whats wrong?

I only have a 15" monitor so i don't want to make it even smaller by playing in windowed mode

Another weird problem is when i'm in fullscreen mode it takes ages for the game to save(if at all) but when i'm in windowed mode it takes a few seconds. Whats going on? Its driving me mad

is your pc too weak to have higher resolution ? that way you could play in windowed mode but keep the screen size to almost as big as fullscreen...
