Very nice!
Damn you guys, I am now looking at the Fanatec website and tempting myself to get the CSR Value Pack XL and the Rennsport wheel stand.
A bit of an outlay coming in at a combined €480 before shipping... But I could somewhat recoup some of my money by selling my Driving Force GT, Official MS 360 wheel and my WheelStandPro... Hmmmm, temptation.
I'm a bit gutted as I bought the CSR value pack just before Christmas only to find its dropped in price. I went and bought the shifter set as well. Now you can get the whole lot in a pack for less.
The CSR wheel and pedals are excellent though mate. If you can afford it and love your racing games then it's a no-brainer. You're good to go on all formats too.
I sold my 360 wheel and DFGT to fund the purchase - got about £50 for each.
Why not keep the Wheelstand Pro? I've got my CSR set mounted to one (the WSP Deluxe which has a shifter mount). You could always get a new mounting plate from WSP or drill your own holes using the template that comes with the CSR.
Wow those CSR wheels are pricey! In what way are they better than the DFGT? I bought mine for £50 brand new in a sale a couple of years back and I am thinking of upgrading my wheel. I was looking at the G27 which is about 90 quid cheaper than the CSR xl pack. Are the CSR wheels worth the extra money?
Will the csr elite fit on my wheel stand pro?

Is the force feedback stronger in the CSR than the DFGT Jamez?
I am trying to find out if the G27 is belt driven. I know what you mean when you say notchy, if I was paying over £200 I would not want that.
Are there any other good wheel manufacturers?
I'd send them a quick email, see what they say. You can always drill your own holes as the wheel comes with a mounting template.
The Thrustmaster T500 looks really nice but is very expensive at £350 without a shifter. I think its PS3 only though, Amazon says it works with PC but the TM website says PS3 only.
I think the CSR XL pack looks the best. The load cell brake sounds great, I had a lot of trouble judging how much brake to use with the DFGT.
The Fanatec wheels also have an ABS feature which means when you're about to lock up the wheel will vibrate to let you know. The point at which this kicks in has to be defined by the user though, but quite a nice little feature.
Sounds like cheating to me.
I'm seriously considering getting the standard CSR wheel value pack, though it doesn't seem like it comes with the shift stick which I'd need to get separately. Does it all come with the relevant connection leads? Seems a silly question but they sell the leads on their site and wouldn't be surprised if you had to get them separately.
I really want a decent wheel with force feedback, and the only other option for 360 seems to be the madcatz wireless but that's not got great reviews and is £170. For just £50-100 more I could get the CSR which is far better all round, can be used on all formats and hopefully, like Jamezinho said earlier, should be future proof meaning it will be compatible with the next gen consoles too. That makes it far better long term value than the madcatz one.
Thanks again, I think I'd stick with the regular csr pedals, and good to know the cables come included
Now I need to start saving...I've basically stopped playing all racing games for quite a while now because I want to save them all for when I get a wheel. I already have yet to properly play through Forza 3, F1 2011, NFS Shift 2, and am planning on getting Forza 4, Sega Rally online (totally arcade but still great fun with a wheel!), mabye some of the Dirt games and NFS: The Run. Are there any less 'arcadey' racers around other than Forza and F1 on xbox? I'd get GT5 on PS3 but I keep hearing it's boring.
Well I can finally get Forza 4, I've just got the Fanatec CSR Value Pack. Can't wait for it to be delivered now!
All I need is a decent wheel stand and I'll be good to go
I'm a total beginner at these things so I think I might set up a new thread for racing wheels and setups for games etc.
**Edit** Just got the wheelstand pro deluxe direct from their website, a little pricey but screw it, if I'm dropping that much on a wheel then I may as well get a sturdy, quality stand too. Can't wait to play Forza and F1 2012 with this. I love my F1 games.
