Football Manager Series

It's very sad but I'm trying to come to terms with it. FM will die as we know it in the next few years. I think early signs are already there. The instant result button (whether you like it or not) is quite a stark addition from them in my opinion.

They'll go where the money is, just like everyone else. They'll want to attract all the content creators who compare Fifa and FC to FM for some bizarre reason.

It just all seems so random though with regards to what's missing. Doesn't seem to be any real patter to anything. But how/why is it such a mess after two years.

It's hard to make a point about the women's game without being shot down these days, but there must have been an awful lot of resource that's gone into that, and on a ratio to how many people are going to play it...could the time and effort have been better placed elsewhere. But I do understand they need to make an effort to show they at least care.

Alot of people saying "oh I skipped cup draws" or "deadline day bored me" are also missing the point..the point being you had the CHOICE. Why remove that?

Bit drastic.

FM26 was always going to have features missing being a new engine.
FM always sucks the first year after a new engine is introduced - Missing features and generally pretty buggy.

FM27 will start re-introducing missing features with the game pretty much returning to the state of FM24.
Then you will start seeing the game develop and improve with new features being introduced.

To start complaining that the game is dead, is nonsense the game sells more and more every year and if the game does start becoming more dumbed down then there is always FM24 as this will be updated for years.
A lot of people including myself still play all the massive classics - CM93, CM96/97, CM01/02 - FM24 will become one of those classic titles.

Sorry but there's no excuse after two years and such a failure last year. I also never said it was dead, I said it will die and I stand by it.

But then you say if it does get dumbed down...that is it dying, that's exactly my point. Nice to have the option to go back to older titles but we shouldn't have to and just like with FIFA alot of us are feeling the need to because current games are so awful.

This is what I needed to see - for all the data nerds, here is creator of the Mustermann skin (which transforms FM24 into a stats-led rather than attribute-led game) showing if data-led player analysis and recruitment is still possible in FM26 (spoiler: yes).

So, you are saying they added a feature which is a choice you can make to use (instant result), but then you make a point that you like to have features which are a choice. I don't get it. More choices the better right? You don't have to use them. Some people might.

The game hasn't even come out yet, how can you say that FM is dying if you haven't even played the game that's the reason you made that statement.

I think the more licences there are, the more expensive the game becomes. Everyone celebrates the licences until they become increasingly expensive and the company has to resort to game mechanics that are already known to be rip-offs.

Yes the more choices the better, but they have removed those choices...

My point about the instant result button was what it stands for.

Anyone playing the beta? From the looks of Twitter, it's no different from the "alpha", which seems incredibly dishonest to me (I don't see how you can call it an "alpha" if it's 99% the final product).

So many people are struggling with game-crashing bugs. I'm scared to transfer over a 400hr save into it, or put any amount of time into a new one, while it's in this state.

I think I might have to avoid it until the first few patches have happened. :(

I have played 2 hours and that is enough for me, the UI is awful, it is so clunky and badly put together. I just don't understand how they can think that this is a good idea, I had just one crash so no issue there. But UI is a dealbreaker for me.

The UI is absolutely horrendous, and I don't think it's just old muscle memory. Everything is so convoluted and it takes ages to do anything. Also hate the little refresh every time I drop someone into the reserves

When you hear Miles talking like this, you realise how far this game is from finished. Christ.

It really is a case of "we've started from the beginning, lost a year of development, and now just about got it functional enough to release so that we can pay all the employees and license holders".

Hi everyone, I wanna ask about FM26 players export with their stats does it possible? I'm checking fminside.net everydays but they are not updating their site database yet. I'm working on web scraper database tools. If someone helps me with FM26 players it would be great. I never played FM or FIFA, I used to convert stats only. Thanks in advance

I will give it another go tomorrow but for now the UI is a big issue, maybe it is just a me thing and others will like it/get used to it but I just feel the direction they have gone in with the UI is completely wrong for example it take seven clicks to get to a league table.

Looks like that's a no... Multiple sources confirming data exporting is not in the game...

Random one but I'm watching a women's team friendly just to see the engine and the goals seem really small compared to the size of the players

Maybe it's just me

Haven't played FM properly in years but thinking of loading up 24.

What add ons do you recommend for it, aside from the Mustermann skin?

See @bsmaff's last few posts in this thread where he provides links to facepacks, kits etc. - I would also recommend "Daveincid's realism pack", which fixes a few issues (finances, injury rates etc.) and makes the AI more challenging.

I mean fair enough - respect that man for not saying bs.

Nevertheless I'll wait for FM to go in Sale around Christmas to pick it up for 20 €. I hope most major bugs will be fixed by that time.

I think it's beyond bugs, you can't fix the UI and the game is literally UI. They went all in on the new match engine which 'legacy fans' aren't precious about, and the younger generation just think it looks crap. It's a disaster for si.

Quite clearly been designed for consoles. Can't even click next unread on my messages? I spent a couple of hours on it and it felt like actual work, not fun.
