Football Manager 2009

Can't :( Serie B rules say I can't sign any Non-EU players from outside the EU :(

I could've signed Hugo Ibarra for £275k as well. Found loads of Brazilian defenders who look good but can't sign too. I'll get them when I move up to Serie A though ;)
 
who i bought for arsenal:
i just bought Miguel Veloso. his stats are amazing and nabbed him for 12m to bolster the arsenal midfield.

ive played several seasons with everton in 2008 , best i could do was 6th place, and alos lose a UEFA cup final, but to valencia, 4x2, villa scored 3 times...
what tatic did u use?
i just cant see the current team beeeing a title contender with any magical tatic in the world..the team is just not good enough to beat the top 4 constitantly imho
 
You might want to spoiler that Jonney, not everyone wants to read who the best players are, they want to find out for themselves.

I don't want to experience half the problems the PC version has... the game runs fine for me, infact, very smoothly (especially 3d)... I just want injuries sorted.
 
I uninstalled and deleted all my FM 08 files a few weeks ago so can't use them.

If anyone has links to the best facepacks/other graphical stuff, or even a huge pack containing everything (there was one for 07 iirc) i'd be very grateful :) I'm not the best when it comes to trawling through FM downloads and getting each thing seperately.

I'm not good, maybe it was beginners luck.
I do remember that i constantly changed tactics and even formatio: 4-4-2, 4-5-1 even 4-3-3 and it kind of worked. I also had a very weird calendar: i had to play the top 4 clubs just after one another...but i never lost a single match against the big clubs. In fact i only lost to Birmingham and that 4 times: they also eliminated Everton in the FA Cup and in the Carling Cup...

allright man...
but u did a really good job u can be sure of it...win the epl with everton, specially in the first season is very impressive imo. and i know that for a fact since i i play with the 99% of the time...

btw, how did u use cahill? i just cant find a right place and settings for him..hes having a mediocre season for me. please tell me if u give him foward runs, long shots, etc etc etc;

Uploading now, I've spent since this morning adding a few new stadium pictures and competition background pictures - as well as writing out the instructions for the logo pack, fiddling with the resource tool will put people off and I don't blame them, another great SI move there.

The logo pack is 60mb, and the stadia pack varies from 70mb to 100mb depending on your resolution. I'll edit this post with links once they've all finished uploading.

That megapack mentioned above is brilliant by the way, my logo pack uses the same style so that they all fit in and look okay next to eachother. If you download it you'll need to delete the England folder in it though, if you're planning on using my pack below (all English logos, including the new badges for Portsmouth and Wigan etc).

Yeah, don't thank me for the logos until you've read the instructions and managed to get it working. :LOL:

I can't believe the fuss that SI have added to the whole thing just because they've left in an old config.xml file.
 
question: how many nations do u have playable at the start of a game? can it be later edited ie can add more nations to play in?

Click "recommended setup" and base how many leagues you choose on that. You can't change in the middle of a game so make sure you choose the leagues you want.

I always choose England down to League Two, then France/Germany/Italy/Spain down to the second level (and I only choose the second level in-case I get one of the top level teams relegated :D).
 
I usually do:

England - Prem to Championship
France - Ligue 1, Ligue 2
Germany - Bundesliga, 2nd Division
Spain - Primera, Segunda
Italy - Serie A, Serie B, Serie C1

Turn off transfer budgets and large DB.

To be honest i barely used Cahill since he was injured for most of the season. When he was fit i used him "in the hole" just after and in between both forwards...
He wasn't that important for my team than he is IRL Everton...i used my Paraguayan midfielder there mostly (i can't remember his name, i think he's now playing in Brazil, but he used to be with Newcastle as a very young player).
Oh and i forgot to mention one loahen n player (when playing FM i use a lot of on loan players) which was very usefull for me: Pierre Womé...
I had quite a bit of luck because Yobo, Yakubu and Womé were all three injured for a short period when the African championship started...they where out for a couple of days or one week and could play shortly afterwards...it was also in that period that i had to play the big four...if i hadn't had that stroke of luck i would never have won the league.
Oh and to be honest apart from a promotion with Wigan Athletic, that is the only time i've won silverware in FM or before that CM. That game with Wigan is the most memorable i've ever had. When they were promoted i bought players like Skoko, Chimbonda, Ryan Taylor and irl Wigan bought exactly the same players...that was weird...since then i have a soft spot for Wigan.
