Has anyone managed to get the English lower-league ball for FM2007 or FM2008 (they're both the same graphics file)?
It's driving me mental, I'm using a Mitre FA Cup ball as the main ball for the game because nobody's made the new one. I find it hard to believe that in 12 months nobody's even attempted to make the bog-standard ball for the Championship downwards...
Oh, by the way, SI are releasing a beta patch sometime before the end of the week to fix the closing down bug and a few others (beta meaning all bugs fixed but not checked for any bugs that these new bug-fixes have created). WOOHOO, I can finally start to play the game I've had for a week...

The SI forum is down AGAIN, this is the third day in a row it's been off in the daytime. They only moved servers a few months ago to prevent overloading and it's happened more since then than it had in the previous three years.

Just played and spotted a bug already (or at least it happens on my machine); first game, give a team-talk, then when I ask the assistant how it went down I get a blank screen with no feedback whatsoever. Never happened in FM07, it's a feature I used after every single game.
But apart from that I'm really impressed, the match engine is a lot better overall. No more stupidly high balls going into the net, and less of the slow-dribbles and offside goals. Loving it, WOOHOO, sod off PES and FIFA.

A crazy amount of fixes, I agree with Jack in wondering how the testers let so much slip?

I'm gonna get this now the patch is out.
I do agree that these things should have been picked up - but at least they do patches to sort it all out and in a reasonably quick time to.
They probably don't employ testers - they release the game and then they get how ever many thousands of testers to pay them £25 for the privilege and then they post the problems.
It is ingenious must save them hundreds of thousands a year

If you look at the fix list a load of them are small niggly things that you would probably NEVER notice (or tweaks, like the finances), and a lot of the match engine fixes tend to be more tweaks than fixing bugs (closing down excepted of course!)
For a game that big and complex they haven't done too badly - and now the closing down thing's been fixed the match engine seems great. It's very fluid now and defenders actually defend.

Ugh. First friendly I score and have a goal disallowed...and I have patched it. Hope its just a one off...
