If CONMEBOL had any resemblance of a civilized institution and tackled these issues with the minimum rigour they would have Boca suspended from this competition for 1-2 years. If only they were serious about it.
But everyone knows they're a corrupt institution and they're more than friendly toward Boca Juniors. They have been tolerating those savages for decades.
If the problem was only the "hinchas" that would be one thing. But the behaviour is found on the players, manager, coach and staff as well. What Martin Palermo did there on this video would be enough for him to get a 4-month ban in Europe. He had been sent off and refused to leave the pitch, trying to rile up opposition players and get them sent off too. What a real prick!
And the manager spitting... I didn't remember that one. Shows the class of the people we're talking about here. For a manager to do that... I have no words.
Yesterday, there was more of the same. Some Boca players were smiling and sharing a laugh with their teammates after what happened. Not only that, they seemed to have approved the whole thing, they were applauding the section of the stadium that started the trouble. That's what we're dealing with here: the thuggery is reinforced and rewarded.
Since the 90s when there's a big match at La Bombonera people tune in to watch mayhem, confusion, fights, confrontation and outrageous scenes. It has always been like this and nothing has changed. They're walking backwards if anything.
BTW, yesterday if the pepper spray assault on River Plate players wasn't enough, there was a DRONE flying over the pitch with a "ghost" and a letter "B" (in reference to some recent relegation River Plate was facing). You can't make this shit up, really!

How on earth could one nutter smuggle a drone inside a stadium, with its remote controller and all! Not to mention the pepper spray cans. How they let it happen is beyond me. That's gotta be the worst "security" I've ever seen.
Anyways, that's the Copa Libertadores for you ladies and gentlemen. The shittiest excuse for a football tournament there is. The lowest of the low.
