FIFA World Cup Brasil 2014

I also cross my fingers for a few Messi goals and Argentine victory today but I seriusly distrust Sabella's tactical capabilities.

Amen to that, their players' individual abilities and partnerships between Messi and any of the attacking three is all what we can rely on. Sabella is an awful tactician. This would've been the perfect moment for a 4-4-2 or a 4-2-3-1 with Maxi Rldríguez on the right, the only way we could form an understandable midfield. Instead, he sends Lavezzi in to replace Agüero in his position.

Im a school teacher so I usually go back home for the Holiday for a month or so. This summer its staycation ! I watched every single game/pre-post show ...I even had the chance to drive to Orlando airport to greet kaka :)

the dynamic duo Drmic-Shaqiri will shock Argentina today!! ehehehe!
Almost an impossible task, hope that Fabian Schar and my friend Johan Djourou are inspired and in good shape!
Just arrived at Arena Corinthians!
Hopp schwiiz!Allez la Nati!!

Hats off to Algeria for a great World Cup.

To all the Americans: good luck for tonight, i hope for a fair match without controversy.
We are afraid of your team.

I second that, gerd. Thanks for the kind words. However, we have a lot more to be afraid of: Everyone here is talking about Hazard, -- which is fine; he's a good player, he's yet to have a breakout game, and he's certainly due one -- but after watching the Red Devils dismantle us 4-2 in Cleveland last summer, I'm more concerned about how we're going to deal with De Bruyne and Mertens.

Nobody has more able coaches represented in this WC than Argentina, sadly they applied a clown for their own NT. :CONFUSE:

Switzerland will pay those miss chances. Romero needs to have some lessons from Neuer.

Argentina midfield is so disfunctional. Seeing Enzo Pérez on that bench for Gago is painful.

Indeed. How Gago even made it there, instead of Banega is even more heartbreaking.

He's twice the player Gago is on any given day, shit form or not he should ALWAYS be considered ahead of Gago.

Banega was allegedly caught with marijuanaa before going, that's why Sabella kicked him ou. Nay, he has been shite indeed.

I think Biglia might be q good prospect to replace the motherf***er.

They're not even the same position so it's a silly comparison. Gago is a defensive midfielder and Banega is a deep lying playmaker or offensive mid.

Seeing the Argentina's "tactical evolution" screen at the halftime and you wonder wtf is that. So fucked up.

1vs1 are gifts at this stage of the tourney.

 It like if the players has a marker where to run and stand. They seem to do it blind folded.

Gago is playing as a 8 (cmf) so the comparation in the NT is valid. He lacks the legs to play that role, plus you rarely see a forward pass from him. Sabella being Sabella.

Argentina doesn't play symmetrical, so Mascherano and Gago are less offensive than di Maria which is natural.

Xhaka and ilner should be off, bring Dzemaili in .

Can't believe Ilner is even captain he has been so poor this tournament.

Also love Mehmedi this guy remind me of Kuyt (one of my fav player ever in LFC)

EDIT: glad Xhaka is off now Ilner too please

On the whole, the big nations have been disappointing at this WC

"Poor" and mediocre teams aren't as bad at defending as they used to be but they struggle to create much besides counter attacks. This makes it harder for those teams trying to play "proper football".

Ridiculous that Behrami is allowed to sabotage so many quick FK's for Argentina. He's supposed to get the fuck 9 metres away when the whistle goes or face a potential booking according to the rules.

Dammit wish I could see this game but too busy at work atm.. Can anyone give me a quick idea of the balance of the game? "Thx!

Total Argie domination, Swi was dangerous the first 15-20 minutes but rarer and rarer as the match went along. In second half they've beasically parked the bus. Very similar match to Germany vs Algeria tbh.

Switzerland looks more tired than Argentina before the extra time but it's quite open. Argentina have sent forward all but three men for large parts of the second half without creating too much.
