FIFA World Cup Brasil 2014

Well, over it is now. Algeria played -again- fantastic and did everything they did. We were clearly better during the extra time, but the first 90 minutes were ridiculously bad, good job done by Algeria. Quite similar to our first game, we were only good, when the opponent get bad.

With this performance we will go home against France.

Edit: well, deserved goal for Algeria, fly home and be proud of yourself, played a good tournament.
 
Well Germany through, the last 15 minutes of normal time and ET they overpowered Algeria.

Thought Slimani (sp?) was very poor tonight, took the wrong opportunity time and time again, looked half decent in earlier games, but thought tonight he let the team down with a very poor performance.

Brave performance so far by the underdogs so far, but just didn't have the quality to nick a goal to beat the big boys.

Just read somewhere that we played according to Street Football rules: Last man is goalie. :D
 
Algeria s coach actually makes me want to give the man a hug. Touching to see how much this meant to him and show it with class.

Algeria gave a good account of themselves this world cup. Got out of their group and pushed Germany all the way.

They came into the tournament as Africa's highest ranked team but nobody was talking about them. Hopefully they won many friends with their determined, hard-working performances and dangerous counter-attacking play. I think their win against Korea was one of the most fun games of the tournament so far.
 
Germany as always after they think they assured the win, they suddenly lose concentration, they take things unseriously ..
 
Wow, hats off to Algeria! Brave play. I'm not sure Russia would have created so many problems for Germany. I was upset when they qualified ahead of Russia, but they helped offer us one of the best matches in this world cup so far.

I was at the France-Nigeria match. France were quite poor in the 1st half. But pretty much like Holland, they stepped up in the 2nd half to win it.

Tomorrow will be really interesting. Argentina might advance easily, but I predict a very close affair between Belgium and USA.
 
tomorrow Argentina will win by luck, Switzerland is a better team but unfortunately they won't pass.

I don't think Argentina's game will be easy.
In the other hand, Belgium haven't convinced me enough in this world cup (on the contrary of USA), so I would predict a 2-0 win for Klinsmann's boys.

I am sure a lot of folks here are more afraid this will be the game Belgium will actually step it up a notch and show the quality they have other than in the goal...if Hazard, Mertens, DeBruyne and the lot play at the pace they can..they will overwhelm the US defense. The offensive potency of this Belgium team is greater than Portugal, Ghana and Germany imho. Having said that..they haven't shown me much thus far and frankly have been a bit dull to watch this WC so I hope the US kicks their asses back to that awesome beer land of yours..all in good fun of course. No controversy would be nice.

As you can see by the consensus on this board the world is impressed with Algeria. They played fun football, brave football and they played with their hearts on their shirts. They destroyed South Korea, they pushed Belgium, they eliminated Russia and they shook Germany.

Brave stuff, I'm a fan.

I also want to wish USA good luck against Belgium today. I hope the referee has the balls to be less biased than yesterdays matches. I hope for a fun and exciting game and if USA turns out the winner I'll admit I'll get just a little more excited. Nothing against Belgium though.

I'll take two Deuce goals today with glee!

I also cross my fingers for a few Messi goals and Argentine victory today but I seriusly distrust Sabella's tactical capabilities.

First of all congrats for Algeria.
They showed a good performance during this WC and especially yesterday against Germany.
This was a terrible match and one of the badest I have seen for a long while. I think it will be a tough match against france, but it will be different from yesterdays.
With any other keeper than Manuel Neuer we would have lost the match for sure - we are lucky to have the keeper in our squad with best sweeper and field player skillz.

I hope that now, since there will be only the so called "favourite teams" waiting each stage the team will play more focussed, concentrated and better than they have showed until now.
 
Massive respect for Algeria. Never thought they were so good. Feghouli and the striker, forgot his name. Just wow. Can't wait for Africa Cup of Nations now haha.

Looks like Algerian fans like 'helping' their team.
