That's really sad that albanians play for Switzerland, moroccanians for Belgium. Such players as Xaka and Shaqiri could help Albania to go on WC. On the other side Switzerland could be weaker without them. In my opinion only native players (f.e. swiss native people) must present national team (f.e. Switzerland). It would be justly

But those "foreign" players were Born and raised in Switzerland and Belgium...some of them genuinely feel Swissair or Belgium.
Those players have the choice to determine for which country they want to play...
 
Kosovo will be soon Accepted by UEFA and FIFA , our team look really good and promising as well :D

IF this will happen and UEFA and FIFA don't change their rules, many if not all of these players won't be allowed to play for the Kosovo as they have played official matches for other countries.

A lot of 'big' countries do the same. Italy have Osvaldo and Thiago Motta, France have had players from different nations for years, as have Germany. The players have a right to pick their nationalities, and it's up to the manager to decide if the player shows enough love/passion for the flag.

those players didn't ever had chance to pick their country so they have right to change now , so many players played for ex yugoslavia and than moved to Croatia , Serbia or wherever they were from

Yes, and by exemple alot of Algerians players for the NT are born in France, Gonzalo Higuain born in France, Patrick Vieira in Senegal and play for France and funny story Drogba born in Ivory Coast but come in France at five year old and don't play for France because about the strikers concurrence with Henry, Trezeguet, Anelka and Cissé...

But it's true this story about Kosovo NT ?
I don't think Shaqiri, Behrami etc... can leave Switzerland NT, or do it before the WC please ^^

do you think Shaqiri would chainge the NT for example? or Dzemaili from WC team to Kosovo? no offence, just wondering if you think of that.. because i can´t see them downgrade in level.
 
though question even for the Albanian national team members not to mention those class A players above, damn politic is in football really

yes why not , you saw him with Kosovo flag when he won CL ? the guy told it himself that he would do that when Kosovo will be accepted from FIFA and UEFA

and Dzemaili its not from Kosovo , hes Albanian but not from Kosovo he and Pajtim Kasami are from Maqedonia !
 
its a bit funky since he plays for Switzerland for 3 years. but i dunno what it feels to have your country then its ben erased from the globe then have it back but i could imagine what the Swiss people would feel if he would make that move. pretty strange and it will be a hard decision for the UEFA but i think they will allow it because these player wouldnt knew if their country would exist anytime soon again when they made an appearance in another national jersey
 
The players who have played for countries like Switzerland should not be allowed to play for Kosovo. The ones who played for national teams of neighbouring countries should be allowed to play for Kosovo.

It's like the players who used to play for the national team of Yugoslavia, once Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Macedonia had national teams they could play for those teams. But i don't think it would have made any sense if a player like Zlatan could play for the national team of Bosnia-Herzegovina.

I'm not speaking about Januzaj here, he should be able to play for Kosovo, but player like Dzemaili made their choice for Switzerland. That should be definitive.

Zlatan could pick Bosnia before he went to play for Sweeden but he didnt , BiH became a member of FIFA in July 1996 , while Shaqiri couldn't pick Kosovo , if Kosovo become part of Fifa and UEFA this month and Januzaj decide 4 months or a year or whatever AFTER that than I think it wont be allowed but since he didnt have his RIGHT TO PICK than as soon as Kosovo its part of EUFA and FIFA every player who feel playing for Kosovo should allowed to do this no matter for what NT they played BEFORE


I'm speaking about Januzaj too you think he should wait for Kosovo to be part of UEFA and FIFA ? how long he has to wait ? what if he retired at age 35 and Kosovo isn't yet part of FIFA ? he has to pick something soon and maybe it gonna be Belgium but if 1 year or 10 years later Kosovo its part of FIFA he should be allowed to change his NT if HE WANT
 
IMO once you've made a choice that is definitive.
And IMO there are other factors than descendancy that are important.
I realize it would be important for Kosovo if Januzaj could play for their national football team. This is important for a whole relatively young country.
But you also got to take into account that he got his football formation in Belgium. That should also be considered.

Anyway, if he chooses for Kosovo, i will congratulate you and wish him success...no problem with me.
 
Hi everyone, i'm Swiss so I would like to share my opinion on the subject.

In our actual team:
16 are native
12 have foreign origins.

They come from Germany, Croatia, Albania Turkey etc...
All of them did a formation in Switzerland, in the goal of reaching the 1st team. They born in Switzerland or moved to Switzerland in the early childhood.
In 2013, Albanian national team had a plan: they took the best albanian-origin players in the Swiss league who have not the level to play in the 1st swiss team or played Under-N teams and took them to play with Albania. It's what they did for Abrashi and Gashi for example.
Sometimes "Swiss" talents from foreign origins choose to play for another country, like Rakitic for Croatia and Kuzmanovic for Serbia, even if they born in Switzerland.
Today's 1st Swiss team foreign origin players won't move. For exemple: Shaqiri says he feels Swiss.
 
Nasri is only out for two months thankfully. I don't like Nasri but I'd hate it for any player to miss out on the World Cup due to injury.
 
Well, it looks like Neymar and Falcao could be missing the WC as well, I'm less and less excited about this tournament.
 
that is realy sad,, top players being out...

in other side this could mean a chance for other maybe less known future starst to cover...?

still i´m sad over top players being out already..
