FIFA World Cup Brasil 2014

I had to retire from football quite early due to a rather nasty, "career ending" injury. Some time later I attended a match between my childhood team and a local rival and due to severe injury problems in the squad I was asked to be a substitute and I agreed. I didn't see any harm in it since both teams were amateur teams. The result was that I received a one year ban from football since I was "formally contracted" to another team even though I was officially retired and my childhood team got a 15.000€ fine.

So much for sensibility in the world of football. A settlement agreement was made, luckily, so the fine was eventually retracted but I had to serve my ban for "contract breach". I counter sued them to receive payment for the time since I "retired" and until the match where I allegedly "broke contract" and won, lol. Serves the motherfuckers right for not doing the paperwork properly and to witness against us in the previous hearing. It wasn't a whole lot of money though, but it was the principle, you fuck with me, I'll fuck with you.

You know that 5 year old kids can't change team unless their team agrees. So if parents move to another part of the country, they depend upon the good will of the Original club, which is absurd.

Until they earn money, youth players should be treated as recreative football players and not as commodities...

It's not just FIFA. UEFA are just as bad. I tried to buy Super Cup tickets as the game is down the road from me but it wouldn't allow me to buy them online as I didn't have a MasterCard which are one of UEFA's sponsors. What a joke! Would have loved to take my kids to watch Real Madrid but no luck just because I didn't have a bloody MasterCard.

here they have credit gift cards (4.99 MC,V)(7.99 AE)bummer you missed out on that.

Klose up front and Lahm back were he belongs to! We might have bigger chances now to win against France! Auf geht's!

Sounds like Low had a "oh shit we're playing a World Cup" moment. Excited by today's games. Skipped the silly 4th of July parade to watch this game. Happy birthday America and gl France and Germany! :BOP:

It's crazy, guess they're too afraid of losing the next Messi.

Forgot to mention that the ban didn't really affect me since I retired for a reason. If I play 90 (or something..) minutes football I need crutches for a few days afterwards. There's something wrong with my left ankle so it swells up and I can't fit into a shoe.

Varane needs a few more hours in the gym. He was too light against Hummels.

I'm hoping France's strategy is to save energy for the 2nd half...is so, congrats!

It's a World Cup quarterfinal boys, show some effort!

Seems like it got worse. Germany is conservative and efficient.. France looks toothless. Btw is Ozil still on the pitch? The dude has a remarkable ability to completely disappear from a game.

Edit: oh look he touched a ball since God knows when

Really disappointing from the French. Griezman and Matuidi in particular were woeful, and for all his talent Pogba did a pretty giant disappearing act for that second half.

Benzema tried, but that was it.

Giroud may also have put in the worst performance of the world cup. Think he mis-controlled two passes, was offside once and conceded 3 free kicks. Great stuff.

France has improved, they will get better. Germany deserved the win, they controlled the match .

Dull match but enough to go through .

Mats Hummels - France 1:0

Everything said.

Yup. Very forgettable game.. In fact.. Who won again? :CONFUSE:
The last gift France gave America for its independence is still the statue of liberty. You suck :COAT:

On the flipside.. Germany is one of those teams you often worry little about when it comes to defending leads.. That's pretty impressive.

Apart from our goal and that two chances of Schürrle, there wasn't much danger in front of Lloris. Great fight, but no beautiful football anymore. Still not convinced of that team. :D

France were disappointingly weak at the front, Benzema alone couldn't get much done against Hummels and Boateng.

On a different note: When the fuck will we get rid of Özil? That's a shame, what he's doing there, Löw finally should let Schürrle play from the start on. And on a more positive note, Höwedes is playing the same role as Friedrich in 2010: Surprisingly good work as a side back without any show, didn't expect him doing such a superb job.

Now, James, come on, I want Colombia as opponent! :D

What a potential predicament for the Brazilians..what would hurt more? Losing against Columbia in the quarters or Germany in the semis? Don't get me wrong I'm not necessarily rooting against Brazil but it won't be upset me to see them get booted.

Meh... boring match. France were weak and Germany didn't want to play football.
Because lead quickly...

About the goal, never freekick, this referee whistle everything and the game become boring... but it's the football, France are lucky with Pogba, Sakho, Matuidi and Giroud in the previous games.

That was a boring match.
France was weak and Germany did not want to go for the second goal.
Özil and Götze are far away from useful.
Both take out the speed in their actions.
Podolski was also weak on his WC appearance. Schürrle is a little bit stronger but absolutely unefficient when it comes to scoring.
I would give Draxler a chance, because it can not get worse...

C'mon Colombia , hope they win this one , for sakes of their beautiful football they played so far and their beautiful women's :)

+agree
seeing OZil on the wing is unnatural for me as an Arsenal supporter. Podi has such a powerful kick/cross that always cause problems. As for Schurrle its strange he finish from tight angles during the league season. I think Germany squad are having too much fun (more of a holiday w/ mates)
